Thanks for the video, did feel sorry for you when those 2 women got on and gave it rabbit and cackles after every sentence, loved the way they just walked infront of traffic with out looking;
In the summer, I often travel from the North East of England to Kent. In the sixties, I was stationed at Deal and never lost my love for the area. These videos refresh my mind of the Roads and Routes and keep the general map of these Towns in my mind. Love it, keep them coming.👍👍
Hi it’s Paul again from Kent what a great video ❤ which I loved not been to Margate for years I remember dreamland fun fair as a kid I thought the ladies having a chat was great as well made the whole video so real. Carry on the great work. Paul In Kent
Took me back to visiting Hersden in the 1960/70s. My mother lived there in the 1930/40s in a house, long gone at 54.19. In was the entrance to Hersden Coalmine. The miners used to park their bicycles in the garden.
Yes, that entrance was to the offices where my father called at the beginning of the day to collect the ‘notes’ for those miners that were to get their concessionary coal that day, my father and his brother delivered the concessionary coal for Chislet miners from the late 50’s through into the 1960’s. The main entrance to the coal sidings, weighbridge and Chislet Colliery Halt station follows at 55.22.
Not sure if you're aware as I suspect you're not local but this 8 is actually on diversion for the first part of the video until it gets back to Cecil Square. It's actually meant to go straight over the first roundabout where the sign said QEQM Margate and serve the other side of the QEQM hospital. There's major gas works outside the hospital so you can only travel in one direction on that road.
Some of these places we pass through down in Kent, there's so much overlapping that you don't really know where the one place ends and the other begins. There are so many places particularly down that part of the UK.

Loved this video, worked in Thanet for 15 years in the 70’s and 80’s.
Wow. Has the area changed a lot?
@@EurasiaTransportExplorer yes, particularly around Westwood.
Great ride today. I loved Westgate-on-Sea and especially Birchington-on-Sea. Thank you for taking me along. 🥰
Those two places have great architectures ❤️
