Solid performance all-round, except that dead ocean of souls in the audience.
it always been like that in Rock N' Roll Fame
For sure dead souls in the audience
Besides the Sex Pistols this is PUNK!
Corporate fucking zombies that just want to rub skin with rock stars.. It's really pathetic.
I guess you don't flip tables when you pay $20,000/plate.
the audience didn’t deserve this performance.
You mean iggy didnt deserve this audience

Apparently, the industry still didn't know what to do with Iggy.

Iggy proved that they still weren't quite ready for that kind of music.
But their kids are gonna love it.

@@matiasfrangioni Back to the future flashbacks..
You don't find the real spirit of rock n roll at ceremonies like this. Only at real shows.
This crowd just goes to show how far the music industry has strayed from the raw power of rock and roll
Well, it was always like this at the top, but surprisingly they took more risks in the past even when they were old cigar smoking executives
@@dorianleakeyThere was a LOT more money in music back then. Labels took more risks because they legitimately had no clue what would sell and what wouldn’t.
@@hansolo9585I think it was Jerry Garcia that said the music industry was better when it was old cigar chompers in charge they would put an album out just to see if it sold, in the 80s the new hip guys thought they could force the industry in certain ways
Blows my mind how much energy Iggy brings! Also love that Billie Joe understood the assignment
"Show me your not too rich to be cool"
*Tre Cool enters the stage*

I like that he realises that the crowds hopeless and basically teases them
He should have gone full Iggy and thrown a glass against the wall or pulled a tablecloth off a table

The silliness of the whole event summed up in a typically great ferocious performance.
The Stooges 🙏❤
Kudos to Billie Joe for doing his best to support Iggy. How the fuck could you be invited to the R&R HOF and not appreciate Iggy Pop?
They weren't invited....they paid BIG MONEY to be there, for the prestige...like rich guys buying Super Bowl tickets on the 50 yrd line, without being big sports fans ... They're there to be seen, not to see and hear!
and it seems that it was not prepared, but it was what had to happen to give some life to that place !
Na to be seen by the other rich people, for like self confirmation or something, maybe it's insecurity, maybe it's an excuse to dress nice I don't know
the guys who came onto the stage were cool tho ;)
the rest apparently was only there for networking and not for listening
Also to Eddie Vedder for, "oh shit we're doing this? YES!" and speeding onstage
What's funny is he is older than every audience member there and yet it feels like a old people are watching his concert.
It’s hilarious. Those people are too afraid to be themselves I think. Or they’re just empty. Either or.
@@johndotcueha ha so true, Iggy performing in front of some alien reptiles... 😂
I'm trying to imagine what The Stooges were thinking about performing in front of these stiffs.
😂😂😂😂😂
I need more cocaine 😂
The saxophone added a different dimension of coolness.
This is now one of my favorite rock performances ever. Just the silent, non-moving audience, the contrast between the rich tuxedo people and the sweaty, shirtless Iggy, the enthusiasm the Stooges show, as well as the enthusiasm of those who join them onstage like Billie Joe, amazing stuff. I absolutely love this video.
One of the best Hall of Fame performances for sure.
It's so good and he knows what's up. I wanted to look for an interview about his thoughts on this but as soon as he said "let's get the upper east side up here", I knew he was in full control of those wankers. He's been doing essentially "this" for a lot longer than those nerds have sat in those audiences. It's like performance art at it's purest form. What a "true" legend.
Iggy is the real deal. He didn’t play punk, he invented it. He needs to prove zero to anyone
@@Sweetsmcdudeman I still remember Iggy constantly playing Detroit growing up in the 70s. He & MC5 we’re years ahead
What are all those stiffs in the audience even doing there?! Do they work in the music industry..
Marty Mcfly: "I don't think you guys are ready for that yet, but your kids are gonna love it"
Yes
Never more accurate
lol
Of course Johnny B Goode was Mozart compared to this sludge.
More like: " I don't think you guys are ready for that yet, but your parents loved it"
All those rich people with absolute no soul for music. One of the best concerts I ever saw was The Stooges in Memphis. I had a beer with Mike Watt, the basis, at a tiny bar called the Buccaneer before the show and such a cool down to earth guy. Ran into him having a smoke on the steps. Pure LEGENDS.
Let it be known that Billie Joe & Ed were the first ones on stage. My top 2 favorite bands for a reason
Right?
Love this “audience”...looks like they are at the Olive Garden watching the waiter sing happy birthday!

Cool performance! How can you not get energized, especially in-person, is beyond me. Then miss a chance to get on stage with the Godfather of Punk? They may be rich, but their souls are dead.
But I have to admit, this is as Punk as it gets. Iggy. Grew up in a trailer park in Ypsilanti, MI. Here he is all these years later, sticking it to the man.
Must suck not having the capability to understand performance art when it's in front of you.

Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction should NOT be in a room full of tuxedos @ the F'ing dinner table who don't give a F about the music.
It is ironic, isn't it. They should all be at a Barry Manilow concert instead.
If it’s possible I’d say the hall of fame people should find out who was at their first ever gig and contact them to see if they want to come and see how far the band’s come
Cardboard hearted cutouts
Right on man, what a joke. Rock & roll is the complete opposite of corporation
@@nonameman7114 I wouldn't go that far. I've read countless books by rock singers/groups that will blame lousey record sales on their corporate handlers for not shoving a crappy album down our throats. They will take the credit when an album is a hit, but blame the record company for "not getting behind" an album that fails. (See Neil Young.)
Iggy dancing and rocking the hell out in front of these penguins on suits, sitted down and sipping champagne is the definition of awkwardness
Iggy looking young and energetic. Sounds Great too!
The thing is not the rich people who don’t relate to punk music. But those super successful musicians on stage jumping and showing Iggy how much his persona means to them. How they adore him. Being with you hero on stage - priceless!
also since those musicians who come upstage actually owed iggy something in some form musically

The fact that Iggy Pop can make a mosh pit out of a room full of rich, stuffy senior citizens to the horror of the soulless corporate corpses of the Rock and Roll Hall Fame is one of the coolest things I've ever seen
It's just really cool! I love how Iggy has never given a shit about being your typical rich respectable guy, he does whatever he wants and really doesn't care about what society thinks.
If somebody told me this was a dramatized, acted video, with the crowd told to be quiet and still as bricks, I'd absolutely believe that. What a lame audience. What a perfect song, what a glorious performance!
I don’t know why y’all are complaining of the audience. This moment and set declares how rock n roll is. It’s the perfect example of rock n roll. Prune people dressed fancy while Iggy is shirtless and rocking around it’s the definition of rock n roll. This moment is so rock n roll
Iggy is rock n roll, the crowd is not. This is a performance for the ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME, and the audience is acting like they're at the opera.
The most un-stooges crowd ever. people like that don't deserve shows like this!
I agree, the people in the crowd are a bunch of rich boring pretentious snobs.
@@mr.pulpnoir3526 they were forced to smell his stench.
Major props to The Stooges, Billie Joe & everyone on the stage who carried this performance while the crowd didn't help a damn bit.
You think Iggy cares, though? think twice. He even played on America Idol and made them HIS. He is immune to the pretentious BS. He knows that the audience is gonna suck. I suspect he wanted to flip them the bird but didn't want to make the news about it.
