It IS THE 1800’s in Florida USA!!! Workers are not entitled to a water or heat break! DeSantis needs to be hauled out of his AC and put to work mowing, working construction. Or installing electrical in 180 degree attics…then asked if he needs a heat and water break! The heat and humidity here in Florida is inhuman! Yet people who recline in AC all day make the rules! Something interesting that Glenn Kirshner of Justice Matters said, was to remind us that Trump was indicted in four jurisdictions and is out on bail for all of them. As an example, in the DC case, part of the conditions for his release, is that he cannot commit any crimes, state or federal while out on bail. Glenn pointed out that with the current trial he’s in, he’s violated his gag order 10 times, which is criminal contempt, a crime in NY. So this would be a reason to jail him. We will see what judge Merchan decides to do. He had a hearing on the violations and we are awaiting his ruling. Fingers crossed that Trump spends some time in confinement!!

Glenn Kirshner is terrific - his very explanations of the law are thorough.
I was listening to a past judge the other day, and she said that the judge could put him in jail but not during the trial that Trump would want. It is up to the judge to decide the number of days. This could come during deliberations, or looking at the time between trials, it can be done then.
I think that because the Court does not want to rile his base to do something drastic, Rumpy will likely only be fined. I will be surprised if he is jailed, but I would be happy for him to spend all his remaining days on earth in jail!

As an X childcare worker I have to say that an important part of the day is the lunch break for teachers. It’s the perfect time to recharge your batteries so that you can go back into the classroom in a refreshed frame of mind. A very busy job where teachers have to be on there toes all day long. Lunch breaks are a vital time for mental health. It is not baby sitting!!!
as a former 4th grade teacher, we had a lunch but never had time to take not even time to go pee in an 8hr day. sad. none of us ever had time to sit down and eat. too much running.
It's about teens who work and don't want a lunch break or be forced to take one... Not about childcare workers!

Children don’t count. That’s why we don’t have universal childcare. By extension, childcare workers are looked at with the same disdain as children. Our educational system has been hollowed out state by state.

He said repealing the requirement for lunch break was for that reason. Of course, what if they DID want lunch. Too bad now.

It was actually no lunch breaks for child workers. Yes. You read that right. Children are now working in situations where they not only are not protected should they get injured, nor being able to accrue money towards retirement but now can be denied lunch break. Thanks for your reading.
