They know there song so well, and are having fun. They'll have friends in each other for the rest of their lives, most likely, because they share an experience with this show. All individuals, and yet all perfect Matilda's
Is there anything more wonderful than this? My kids regularly quote Tim Minchin lines (not just from Matilda) - his work has been the perfect antidote to religious indoctrination, and so how fitting to have him write the music for Matilda, celebrating the education of children, and encouraging their propensity to question authority - a perfect circle. Thank you Tim.
All kids think their parents are tyrants when they are being disciplined even though they have their best interests at heart. Questioning authority is not always a positive. This musical made things black and white with a clear villain. That's not how life is.
Tim Minchin is an absolute National Treasure. A brilliant mind, a brilliant talent, I think he's made the world a little bit better. Protect this man at all costs 😍 xxxxx
I wish my hair could look like that when I rolled out of the bed first thing in the morning. Of course I'm bald. My hair used to look kind of like Tim's first thing when I rolled out of bed in the morning (except for the color). Man, I miss having hair. I'm growing my goatee out for a combover.
Completely showing my age here, but the little girl on the far right reminds me so much of a young Hayley Mills from back in the day. They are all so talented. I couldn't imagine trying to learn a whole MUSICAL at that age.
Ha! I definitely see the resemblance. And I'm only 31 if that makes you feel any better....my ma popped in the original Parent Trap when I was young, probably in anticipation of the '98 remake coming out - she would have wanted us kids to see "the real one" first, LOL. Hayley was great in it. I always enjoyed her sister Juliet on the soap Passions as well.
Georgia Taplin is her name. And the other blonde girl next to her reminds me a little of the actress that played Bailey in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.
This is dry recording. No effects, nothing. You cannot hide, if you can do this qithout electronics, you've got it. An awesome demonstration of talent.
Spurr the bad kids, from bad situations. Then put them in a chocolate factory. Just not a Giant Peach. Naughty Beasts 😆. Sorry tried sooo many references 😛
They often cut the second verse for performances like this and I don't know why it's cut out of cast recordings, but it's definitely still in the actual show.
Why is his hair so ratted? He kind of creeps me out as the guy that says you parents are wrong. Go ahead and take risks, I'll help you hide it from your parents. He's like the dishonest fox from Pinocchio
Stop judging people you dont even know Lorrie, they are just performing you dont need you say anything about Tim Michin, by the way his hair is ratted its because the Matildas is based of his hair so be quiet.
when she whispers, "it's your turn!" to Tim at 2:58
it's adorable, they all look like they really enjoy what they're doing here, nothing's as fun as talented musicians who love their craft
SO CUTE!!!
They know there song so well, and are having fun. They'll have friends in each other for the rest of their lives, most likely, because they share an experience with this show.
All individuals, and yet all perfect Matilda's
hahaha I missed that. Funny
我好你
Imagine being that young and having Tim as your teacher. That's so cool. He's made a lot of effort to be there for a lot of the Matildas on the tours
They based Matilda's hair on Tim's :)
I always find it so funny that dark humored Tim Minchin wrote a kids musical! He’s so talented!
I wouldn't characterize his humor as dark. He has always seemed uplifting to me. Delightfully irreverent is how I would describe it.
Matilda (any version) actually is pretty dark, but sparkling too at the same time. ⭐🌟✨🌟⭐
They all look like they're having so much fun!!! It's beautiful to watch them all smiling st one another whilst they're singing
yeah!
The thing that makes it nicer is the fact that they look like they are having a LOT of fun!
I love when the Matilda sitting closest to him on the piano whispers to him that it's his turn to sing.
Tim Minchin is a sweet man. It shows he really likes these kids, they are having a blast.
The most amazing thing about this performance is that Tim Minchin manages to be just as adorable as his four young co-stars.

Well said from America. I’m sorry about your experience here. We have a lot of nice places. LA is just a facade.

@@supercal333 It’s representing a concept, not every facet of life. If that’s your standard, then all art is meaningless.
The way Tim looks at them with encouragement.
He looks so fricking proud of them, ugh, so precious!

I love that they're singing to each other :)
How many times have you watched this?
Me: yes
Just saw Matilda at the West End it was beyond amazing! Absolutely blown away by the music and the cast.
This just has Tim Minchin vibes all over it. The lyrics. All of it.
I wish my hair could look like that when I rolled out of the bed first thing in the morning.

For what its worth, your facial hair is magnificent :) u look really cool
This is amazing because they're having so much fun and it makes it so much better
This is the most wholesome video
He plays so well!!!!
Tim's hair matches the girls' so well lol.

I thought the exact same thing.

All the Matildas having fun and singing really great . Lovely watch. Thanks for posting, from this non-Ozzie fan of Tim/Matilda the Musical.
Tim Minchin has got quite a jazzy voice!!
I love this it is amazing
awesome
So much talent! Tim Minchin is incredible!
Waltzing Matildas!
This is dry recording. No effects, nothing. You cannot hide, if you can do this qithout electronics, you've got it. An awesome demonstration of talent.
the matilda that's standing up is really good at the british accent!
Simply wonderful.
They did great. So nervous but they did well.

Do all of these girls have Tim's hair stylist ?
He seems surprised by how good those girls are and how good that song is...
He WROTE the song, so he knows how good it is!
Welcome to Australian talent.
is it me or these lyrics are diferent from west end and broadway? i dont remember the part of cinderella in the cellar
It’s the extended versions
A great performance.
Tim seems to battling a rather poor piano. Is it massively out of tune? Or just low quality?
I’m so mad the choreography didn’t include a waltz.
Spurr the bad kids, from bad situations. Then put them in a chocolate factory. Just not a Giant Peach. Naughty Beasts 😆. Sorry tried sooo many references 😛
whoa...there was a new lyric in there. I guess this song got edited a bit before it became what we know today.
What was the new lyric?
@@lendmesomesugar97 3:20-3:40, never heard it in any of the Broadway run's promotional performances nor on the original Broadway cast's album
@@fishalope5 it’s in the west end recording on Spotify
No that was always there. We did it for our song and dance 3 years ago

Listening to Naughty being sung made me wonder what if Matilda had gone to St Trinians instead. Would have been a very different story
Why is the man singing lol
He wrote the song. All the songs for Matilda.
Why is his hair so ratted? He kind of creeps me out as the guy that says you parents are wrong. Go ahead and take risks, I'll help you hide it from your parents. He's like the dishonest fox from Pinocchio
It’s his “thing” on stage it sets him apart etc .
