I was not prepared to bawl over this lesson. I went through my first wilderness experience when I was 15. I wet my bed with pools of tears crying out to God for forgiveness over whatever sin put me in that place. I was exactly as close to my heavenly Father as the girl in the film. God told me I was going to be tested before it happened. He told me to just keep walking in obedience and it would work out. It was so hard to understand at the time. Now I know he protected me. It’s so good to see his hand of protection now, but I didn’t see it then.

i’m 21 and currently experiencing the wilderness for the first time in my life. it’s been 10 months now and to say it’s been hard is an understatement. it feels like God is hiding his face from me, like he has left me in this spiritual desert all by myself with no one close enough to reach me and some days i have hope and peace and strength but right now it all feels so dark and hopeless. 10 months ago i didn’t think i’d be sane right now let alone alive and although the Lord has kept me i still have this dreadful feeling that i’m not gonna make it out of this and that this season is never going to end, that this is how life will be forever.
God will pull through for you. I am definitely not claiming to know what His Plan is, but He is Good and He is Worthy and remember the Scripture they mentioned, Ecclesiastes 3:1.
My goodness. All I'm asking for for him to speak to me in a way that I can't misinterpret, so I can know his voice and besure that I am his. Im dont want sunshine and rainbows. I just need some form of assurance that I won't hear "depart from me I never knew you." Whether this comes from a mountain top experiece. An overwhelming sense of peace, a vision, dream, a small or loud voice I dont care. I can't hear him. I don't know what he's telling me. How can possibly believe that I'm one of his sheep if I dont know his voice. The closest I've gotten are thoughts that I can't t tell are him, or if they are what I want him to tell me but are really just my own thoughts. I've poured my heart out mutiple times, but I don't even feel a tingle. If I'm not one of his sheep then I would have preferred to never have been born. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.
I just have to say praise God for this message! I have been drowning in my own despair lately because it seems like the closer I have gotten with God, the further away He seems. This opened my eyes to the perspective that it is not what I am doing wrong, but that God is strengthening me to rely on Him even when I cant tell he his there. Thank you John!
There's no reason for dispare. I am living witness that Lord God responds to our needs. Many people don't realize the condition that we require to fulfill in order for Lord God to respond to our needs. The FIRST commandment in PRACTICE is the condition. Only when Lord God Almighty is FIRST in EVERYTHING that has to do with our life, only then we can see Lord God responds to our needs. God's WILL has to come FIRST even before we ask for anything. Only when we are willing to put our FAITH in PRACTICE according to the 10 commandmends only then we can petition something for Lord God to consider and judge if it fits into his plan for us. I also know one good reason why Lord God doesn't respond to people. This reason is HYPOCRISY, and Lord God hates hypocricy. I also found myself many times into hypocricy and I had to correct myself. My life definitely improved so much after I searched out any kind of hypocricy in my life and I got rid of it. We can't serve two masters so we definitely have to choose which one is the master in the FIRST commandment of our life. I hope it helps clear out your RELATIONSHIP with Lord God Almighty. I have so much to be grateful for. So many blessings. His Grace kept me alive, sane, productive, comfortable and affluent. It wasn't until lately when I actually started listening to, learning, following and obeying his teachings did my faith and friendship deepen; and now I am definitely more fulfilled inside, and more useful to His cause. I guess everyone's path is a bit different.

Years and years? 😭😭😭😭 oh gosh!! i’m here for a second time to listen to this whole playlist. The first time I listen to it I cried and was in awe the whole time because you helped me realize what I’ve been going through. Everything you’ve experienced in your wilderness is exactly what I’ve been dealing with. I had no idea what it was I have been lost and confused for so long, probably about a year. This lesson has helped me so much, my hope has come back and now I can do what I need to do to get out of this wilderness.
I haven't finished this yet, but I am really struggling with my faith and might be in a wilderness period. I HAVE willfully sinned a few times, and have almost given up on the faith. Nothing really bad has happened to me, but I have just gotten so tired and worn out from confusion and not hearing God. It has really challenged my faith on an emotional level. Please pray for me!

@@LordsChild19 I haven't given up my vaping habit. Its really hard. But I was also in this wilderness before I picked it back up after quitting a while ago. I am going out into the woods to hike/camp with some guy friends from church this weekend to seek the Lord and see what He wants to do. I do read scripture daily, but there is a disconnect and unbelief/doubt in my heart. The video of the father and daughter was so touching and at the point when the viewer is at their highest level of emotional involvement the spirit of what you're trying to convey is wiped out by a post-it commercial that interrupts the entire flow and tears the viewer away from the moment you so wonderfully creating. Remember most likely the people watching this video are probably going through a very rough time and feel like God has forgotten them. Every season has a purpose. What may be correct behaviour in one season may be utterly incorrect in another season. Lord give me understanding and discernment of the times. What is the wilderness? - A lack of the tangible presence of God. - The season when the promises that he has made for us seem so far off. These are the seasons you ask: "God, where are you?"

Poignant video, but I have to disagree with the line, "I've left her to show her how strong she really is". No, He has no desire to reveal to us our own strength, but His in us. We aren't strong and becoming more self reliant is not the goal. If I don't take the right messages away from my wilderness experiences, the next time I just end up thinking"I got this" not 'He's got this".
Even when I can't see Him, He is there. The wilderness experience can be a time of test. The wilderness is when God gives you what you need not what you want Deuteronomy 8:3 The Israelites were in the wilderness not because of disobedience. You cannot shorten the wilderness experience but you can lengthen it by disobedience. Example: Joseph PIT- Preachers in Training The wilderness is a necessary time. It is God protecting you. What the Wilderness is Not a. It is not God's punishment or disapproval b. It is not his abandonment c. It is not God putting you on the shelf before using you. God never wastes a moment in our lives. d. It is not defeat.

Unless I don’t understand the context, the Bible DOES tell us to give thanks FOR everything (Ephesians 5:20). 1 Thes. 5:18 says to give thanks in all circumstances, Phil. 4:6 says to always give thanks in general. I’ve never read any of the apostles say “thank you” for prison but they do say they rejoice in their chains or beatings. Would that be the same thing as being thankful “for everything”?
My question...can other people perpetuate your length of time in the wilderness? I think of joseph (the prisoner forgot to mention him), moses (rebellious people), elijah (pursued by evil ahab and Jezebel)...is there an aspect where sin can so impact us by how others treat us that were kept in the wilderness longer? I recognize my own sin and the consequences that brings...but i feel that so much of my life has been the sin of others dragging me down...it becomes so hard to have to keep living a victorious life among such needy and sinful peopl

To everything there is a season, a time for a every purpose under heaven. Ecc 3:1.. We have seasons in our life. Every season has own purpose. It's important to discern which season we are in.. Luke 12:54-56.. How is that you cannot discern time of this season.. 1. Chronicles 12:32 Sons of Isachar knew right behaviour for right season.. Learn appropriate behaviour. This course will teach us the wilderness season. You are going to know benefits of the wilderness season. What is the wilderness??? Raw definition. 1. Lack of tangible presence of God. Presence of the lord, i will never leave you or forsake you. Omnipresent of God. Other presence of God. John 14 manifested presence .. We lack that tangible presence of god. 2. Promises what God has given to us. It means that those promises are away off and it looks like you go away from your promises Job 23:8-10. More he seek God. More God is elusive to him. Things in the spirit world we don't see that physically. God wants to make us mature that we can handle dark powers.. God, where are you?? Wilderness can be time, It's testing time. Number one is to QUIT, Give up faith! Number two is to willfully sin. Enemy wants us to quit and give up our faith and make us wilfully sin.. The video of the father and daughter was so touching and at the point when the viewer is at their highest level of emotional involvement the spirit of what you're trying to convey is wiped out by a post-it commercial that interrupts the entire flow and tears the viewer away from the moment you so wonderfully creating. Remember most likely the people watching this video are probably going through a very rough time and feel like God has forgotten them. These people do not need emotional sucker punches. i know this is not what you intended but it is happening and you needed to know. Thanks.

Every season has a purpose.
What may be correct behaviour in one season may be utterly incorrect in another season. Lord give me understanding and discernment of the times.
What is the wilderness?
- A lack of the tangible presence of God.
- The season when the promises that he has made for us seem so far off. These are the seasons you ask: "God, where are you?"

I would love to actually dig deeper in your history of the faith . You are a a true man of God I know that is Jesus working through . It was never been about being seen or money it’s always been about Jesus Christ and the Kingdom of God .

You forgot to say that the chicken you were so blessed to be offered in Trinidad was the best chicken you have ever eaten in your life! Trinidad has the best cooks / the best food on the planet!! Poignant video, but I have to disagree with the line, "I've left her to show her how strong she really is". No, He has no desire to reveal to us our own strength, but His in us. We aren't strong and becoming more self reliant is not the goal. If I don't take the right messages away from my wilderness experiences, the next time I just end up thinking"I got this" not 'He's got this".

The Israelites were in the wilderness not because of disobedience.
You cannot shorten the wilderness experience but you can lengthen it by disobedience.

This was very encouraging and I’m grateful to have come across this. Thank you for making and posting this. Unless I don’t understand the context, the Bible DOES tell us to give thanks FOR everything (Ephesians 5:20). 1 Thes. 5:18 says to give thanks in all circumstances, Phil. 4:6 says to always give thanks in general. I’ve never read any of the apostles say “thank you” for prison but they do say they rejoice in their chains or beatings. Would that be the same thing as being thankful “for everything”?
My question...can other people perpetuate your length of time in the wilderness? I think of joseph (the prisoner forgot to mention him), moses (rebellious people), elijah (pursued by evil ahab and Jezebel)...is there an aspect where sin can so impact us by how others treat us that were kept in the wilderness longer? I recognize my own sin and the consequences that brings...but i feel that so much of my life has been the sin of others dragging me down...it becomes so hard to have to keep living a victorious life among such needy and sinful peopl

As this point I’m mad at the LORD too much for too long ! Don’t throw stones being mad at him is different then not believing, I do believe I’m just mad and overwhelmed from the down hill ride my life has been for twenty years !

2. Promises what God has given to us. It means that those promises are away off and it looks like you go away from your promises
Job 23:8-10. More he seek God. More God is elusive to him. Things in the spirit world we don't see that physically. God wants to make us mature that we can handle dark powers..
God, where are you?? Wilderness can be time, It's testing time. Number one is to QUIT, Give up faith! Number two is to willfully sin. Enemy wants us to quit and give up our faith and make us wilfully sin..
