Once at a Single's Conference in Gaithersburg, Maryland, sister Mangun was laying hands on some folks. When I approached her, she said "Honey, put your hands on me!" I laid my hands on her shoulders, and I have never forgotten that feeling. That was 20 years ago, and I am miles away, but GOD takes me back there frequently. Thank you, Sister Mangun.
I am a pentecostal and defend the faith, earnestly. But friend of mine, you are right. This is what our churches lack, the ability to pray for someone in such a casual manner that all they feel is the love of Christ. Not spit in their face, or the bad breath of those praying around them. Just the love of Christ.
This woman impacted my life beyond words. I have loved listening to her sing since I was a young boy. She will be a part of me until I die. She loves God and she loves me.
I have not met her personally but knows her in the Spirit and definitely I’m one of her spiritual Daughters! Oh how I love her seriousness and tenacity towards God and her purpose in God’s House.

I just recently found this church on UA-cam. It has truly been a blessing. I'm Pentecostal, not Apostolic, I thank God that you have held on to your Pentecostal traditions and not sweep them under the rug per say. The other Pentecostal movements have lost that which we once held dear to our hearts. May we once again return to those wonderful Holy Ghost services.

Timothy Stephenson Most of the United Pentecostal Churches that I’ve been to (and, I’ve been to quite a lot of them, because I traveled a lot during the time that I was involved with the UPCI) HAVE been extremely legalistic. And, they were OBSESSED with whether the congregation was following the rules that the Pastor laid down for his congregation. Not sure where you’re getting your so-called information from. But, I’ve seen just the opposite of what you’re saying. So, I totally disagree with you.

Jeanie Davis Not trying to be mean, but it’s because they ARE Apostolic Pentecostal, and that’s just what they do best - judge and condemn others (even their own). Sad and pathetic!!! I no longer even attend a Church because of all this crazy nonsense that went on in the so called Church that I used to go to. It was overwhelming to even have to deal with people like that. At one point, I was playing the keyboard for a nursing home. And, I told the preacher who I was playing for that another preacher (from the same Church) wanted me to play for him at the nursing home that HE preached at, too. And, the guy who I was playing for told me that I could go ahead and play for him and his nursing home ministry if I wanted, but that I better not come whining to him when I got in some kind of a horrible accident and lost all my fingers, and then, wasn’t able to play the keyboard at all (“because God does NOT play and God wants you right here at THIS nursing home, and not at another. You’ve got prior commitments and you better not do anything to mess those commitments up.” And, I could have played at BOTH nursing homes because the times did not conflict at all. But, I just couldn’t stomach the fact that they were constantly trying to put fear into ya and somehow manipulate your mind and emotions so that you’d do what THEY wanted you to do. I’m over it!!! I have a closer relationship with God now that I have LEFT the United Pentecostal Church. I’m spiritual now!!! And, no longer religious!!! That’s Okay, though. The UPC *is* all about religion. And, even Jesus didn’t like the religious people of His Day. God’s interested in a relationship with you!!! Nothing more, nothing less!!! It’s NOT about religion and who’s right and who’s supposedly wrong. It’s NOT about rules or how much money the preacher can get out of his congregation (so that HE and HIS family can live like Kings and Queens - like royalty!!!). And, that’s what it seems to be all about when it comes to the United Pentecostal Church.

And, we all know what happened to HIS Church congregation. Most of them died when they followed Jim Jones’s orders to drink that deadly concoction of Kool Aid that he made for all of them.

Maybe I am missing something, but Mrs. Mangun's hair is not cut. The style for older Apostolic women is to make a sort of a tight bun.
i can guarantee you her hair has never been cut, trimmed, bobbed or burned. she's apostolic, one God, pentecostal thru n thru

Even though I love hearing this precious sister sing about Jesus, I am so glad that I left the UPCI years ago. Legalism destroys, but Jesus Christ still saves and delivers. I'm trusting in The blood to save me. Not a bunch of man made rules. The bible plainly says that it's not a custom in the Church of God ....But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God. (1 Corinthians 11:16 KJV) I'm glad my wife has long hair, but I'm so glad it has NOTHING to do with her salvation.

B Cone Most in the UPCI are not legalistic. Unfortunately there are some. I am upci, but most importantly i am saved by the grace that he provided us, baptized in the saving name of Jesus and filled with the holy ghost.
Who care about trivial thing like hair. I am not UPC but I recognize the anointing of the Lord on Sis. Vesta Mangun. She takes us into the presence of the Lord and I thank God for her.
Timothy Stephenson Most of the United Pentecostal Churches that I’ve been to (and, I’ve been to quite a lot of them, because I traveled a lot during the time that I was involved with the UPCI) HAVE been extremely legalistic. And, they were OBSESSED with whether the congregation was following the rules that the Pastor laid down for his congregation. Not sure where you’re getting your so-called information from. But, I’ve seen just the opposite of what you’re saying. So, I totally disagree with you.
I also explained my logic behind it. I did think before I typed. I thought long and hard about it. That was my comment on the video. That was what I thought about it. I don't think it's fair that I'm being talked down to because I find something unexpected, like so, to be funny. If you talked to me for five minutes outside of an internet site called UA-cam, you would understand that I enjoy humor.

I've known several beautiful Pentecostal women who have lost hair because of sickness, stress, age , and so on. So, why make comments when you don't know the facts? Makes you look antagonistic and uninformed. The devil is the acuser of the brethren.
Jeanie Davis Not trying to be mean, but it’s because they ARE Apostolic Pentecostal, and that’s just what they do best - judge and condemn others (even their own). Sad and pathetic!!! I no longer even attend a Church because of all this crazy nonsense that went on in the so called Church that I used to go to. It was overwhelming to even have to deal with people like that. At one point, I was playing the keyboard for a nursing home. And, I told the preacher who I was playing for that another preacher (from the same Church) wanted me to play for him at the nursing home that HE preached at, too. And, the guy who I was playing for told me that I could go ahead and play for him and his nursing home ministry if I wanted, but that I better not come whining to him when I got in some kind of a horrible accident and lost all my fingers, and then, wasn’t able to play the keyboard at all (“because God does NOT play and God wants you right here at THIS nursing home, and not at another. You’ve got prior commitments and you better not do anything to mess those commitments up.” And, I could have played at BOTH nursing homes because the times did not conflict at all. But, I just couldn’t stomach the fact that they were constantly trying to put fear into ya and somehow manipulate your mind and emotions so that you’d do what THEY wanted you to do. I’m over it!!! I have a closer relationship with God now that I have LEFT the United Pentecostal Church. I’m spiritual now!!! And, no longer religious!!! That’s Okay, though. The UPC *is* all about religion. And, even Jesus didn’t like the religious people of His Day. God’s interested in a relationship with you!!! Nothing more, nothing less!!! It’s NOT about religion and who’s right and who’s supposedly wrong. It’s NOT about rules or how much money the preacher can get out of his congregation (so that HE and HIS family can live like Kings and Queens - like royalty!!!). And, that’s what it seems to be all about when it comes to the United Pentecostal Church.
Jeanie Davis And, I agree with you!!! They should NOT be judging others!!! But, like I said, that’s what they do best. I literally don’t think that they can help themselves. It’s a sickness with them!!! It’s almost like they HAVE to go around judging and condemning others. They’ve been programmed to do that. They have that us versus them mentality (which was also instilled into them by the Church leadership). Basically programmed into their brains through the mass hypnosis and the brainwashing. I’m so glad that I no longer attend a United Pentecostal Church. I’m feeling a LOT better since I’ve left that stupid cult. And, yup, it’s definitely a cult. Every single expert on cults will tell you that the Oneness Churches (Apostolic Pentecostal Churches - UPC and others) ARE cults). And, they have pretty much ALL the signs of cults. Look the signs that a cult has up on Google. You’ll see!!! Very sad and pathetic!!! Reverend Jim Jones used to be a Oneness Apostolic Pentecostal at one point. He was even in the UPC yearbook for the Church that he was attending at the time. Doesn’t that tell ya everything ya need to know right there?!!? And, we all know what happened to HIS Church congregation. Most of them died when they followed Jim Jones’s orders to drink that deadly concoction of Kool Aid that he made for all of them.
David Simons i could not agree more. Im in Scotland 🏴 in Great Britain and there isn’t a place to fellowship that isn’t twisted with all you described. I do not ‘go’ to church anymore either but i am still part of Christ’s church. I do find it has beeb lonely at times. I missed the singing with in a congregation.
