I love the way the mom said, "and this time we're not making a mess cause we're doing it over the trash can." This tells me this isn't the girl's first attempt at cutting her own hair. Mad respect to that mom for handling the situation with such calm.

why wouldn't she be calm? She's making money out of it and without having to work for a minute. And it's the girl who will be laughed at next day and regret, not her.
I so love that the last mom is teaching her properly. Instead of inducing fear, she is teaching her life management and letting the hard lesson happen naturally.

The salon I work in has blow dryers that hang from the ceiling. They are amazing and it’s one less cord you have to worry about.

I actually went to a stylist this weekend for the first time in years. Really glad I did. I had my roots lifted, olaplex treatment, toner, and trim for $200 including tip. It was worth it. There are very reasonable stylists out there!

Honestly, the last one would have probably looked fine if she had a mirror. Mom can easily fix that into a cute little pixie style cut. Will be great for summer!

I like that the mom in the last video isn't freaking out. The kid even thank her in the end of the video :) She is little, at the end of the day it doesn't matted how her haircut looks lol And it she doesn't love it they can always go fix it at the hairdresser :)

That little girl reminds me of me at that age. I’ve been cutting my own hair since I was about 11 or 12. The only thing I won’t do is bleach it myself. I’ve colored it many times and cut it many times. It’s easy if you pay attention to the hairdresser and do what they do. It never came out bad. I’ve never had to get it fixed and when I do go, I ask them if I missed any spots.
The girl knows what she wants. And shes polite.

I wish that last one was how my own mother reacted the one and only time I cut my hair… instead she yelled at me, took pictures and shared them to everyone telling them that I cut my own hair. I was mortified. All I wanted was a haircut but she refused to take me and wouldn’t do it herself

Dear Hair Buddha, As a hairdresser for 20+ years what is the rational behind around how bleach works today vs. 20yrs ago. It seems like it doesn’t lift and we are toning everything again. I use to be able to just do one process on my highlights and now it’s 2.

My hair is finally long, healthy, and natural. I have the URGE to bleach it and go coral for summer, copper for fall 😩 I've always had colored hair until 3 years ago and while I like my hair, level 7 just doesn't do it for me
I feel you! I had a blonde bob for a few years which was lovely. Since I have beer stricken with ill health I have gone back to my natural colour and now it’s long just past my shoulder blades.
Yes I can tie it up or braid it but it’s sooooo borrring😢 but my head wins for practicability as I can’t sit for long periods or do the whole blow drying and straightening and styling bit.
Perhaps a wig is an option? Minimal damage, minimal effort (just store it correctly).

The last one reminds me of my two daughters. Every time we gave my sons hair cuts they wanted hair cuts, well I did give them hair cuts but they decided they wanted shorter hair cuts and we had to go to the salon to fix it.

I just wanted to say thank you for all you do and your advice you give I changed my hair care routine before Christmas and I have be able to grow my hair out very long it’s not coloured I have all natural hair colour and my hair is now absolutely fabulous so thank you for all u do

I have cut my own hair before tipping my head upside down and cutting like that in the video. Comes out great actually. People would ask me where I got it done and were shocked when I said I did it myself. It’s too long now to do that. But I’m tempted. Lol.
