In these games we have seen power ups like the fire flower, ice flower, super mushroom, mega mushroom, super star, hammer suit, spring mushroom and way more. But there were power ups that helped mario, luigi, toad, princess peach, rosalina and the others to escape bowser, the broodals, koopalings and bowser jr. That Mario face thing was apparently used for a Nintendo event, where Charles Martinet modeled and voiced him live. He did the same for Wario I believe, and I think footage of him saying those lines as he played as Wario might have been stitched to the "playthrough" to make it more believable. I might be completely wrong about the Wario thing though.

There is another event that the wario apparition took inspiration from. Which was from E3 1996 where They had Charles Martinet wearing the motion tracking device and on the screen where the audience was watching they used Wario and They coincidentally used the hallway to dire dire Docks for the background. It is also where the phrase "You want fun? Wario show you fun" originated from.
A UA-cam channel name Grooveraider has a video with this occurrence.

a not well known theory is that the AI in the game is actually Wario controlling the code, some say that in the files, Wario was a planned boss you fight just before the last bowser boss, but since they didn't have a lot of time to make it, he was scrapped. this version of Wario was rumored to have felt sadness that he didn't make it and his negative emotions manifested into the Wario apparition, this being inhabited a unused hallway and now waits for people to accidently BLJ into it, kinda like the backrooms and noclipping. so now the apparition lives in the code, bending dimensions to suit the needs of people who want to see or have happen in their personal copies

Actually the idea came from space world where a floating wario head appears in the dire dire docks hallway and says " you call this fun? You got to be coo coo crazy?!" Then the infamous line, "you want fun? Wario show you fun" and it cuts to gameplay of pong? I think it was pong

I can hear in my mind some people saying, "Dude, I know the Wario apparition is real because my cousin's best friend's neighbor encountered it and is like, in a mental hospital or something!"
The opening had me baffled. Do people actually believe Wario was found in the game? or that this is a screenshot from the game even? I thought it was common knowledge that the original image's head and voice clips were from a real time Charles Martinet event.
Well not for everyone, i saw some other videos covering this but non brought up the face rigging software from 92 or the mario land 2 ad
The thing that's scary for me is that even before hearing about the AI personalization, I saw something that wasn't coded into the game. Me and my sister used to play the game together when we were still in elementary school and always had a lot of fun with it. One day she left to go do something while we were playing and I was left with the controller. I went to the mirror room since at the time we didn't know why it existed, not knowing of the hidden painting to the left of the room. Though when I entered the room it was different. Everything was the same except the left pedestal. It had a blue fire flower on it which I didn't want to touch until my sister came back, because I was scared it would dissappear after. Before she came back down our N64 just shut off. I told her about the flower and the system turning off like it did, but she just passed it off as a glitch. It makes me believe the AI theory is true, as I had a first hand experience of it. Still searching for any similar code in the base game.

Perhaps a simple accident, it may have been a power up that they designed and everything but got rid of, and you could have simply gotten into a prototype room, though I am not a game designer nor that smart so don’t take this seriously.
Huh Snow Man's Land having another feature going wrong with it. I personally remember the Mini-Chill Bullies that would push Mario along the Ice.

This urban legend, along with most others regarding Mario 64, can sadly be explained away pretty easy. Its nothing more than a mixture of the effects of the ‘Liminal Space’ phenomena, the fact that memories naturally get foggy and altered over time, and the fact that we humans simply love to spread these stories and cant help but embellish and stretch them as we do so. However, it sure doesn’t make the story any less fun.
i wish games would actually just go ahead and add such mysteries and stuff because it would be absolutely amazing, just add secrets of all kinds, whether they are cool, creepy, outright terrifying or just whatever

I know, I'm probably the most boring guy for saying this, but whenever I encounter gaming mysteries like this I say first "It would be in the game code and pointed out by reliable sources, this is fake!" I absolutely love mysterious new discoveries that are well documented, like the actual Luigi in SM64 or OoT's cut portal travel mechanic. but I have no passion for the creepypasta of it all.
This is why I find data-mining has made gaming boring. I remember the days of Street Fighter's Shenlong and Mortal kombat's Ermac being fun as rumors were fun.

You know, this makes me wonder about Super Mario 64 DS. There are so many mysteries in the Super Mario 64 Iceberg. We always wondered why they added Wario and not Waluigi. Is it possible that the updated version of SM64 for the DS was the base game with a graphics update and extra content that is 100% inspired by these rumors. Being able to find Yoshi (A rumor that was true), being able to find Luigi (Comspicuously hidden within the Boo's Haunt Level found beside the "L is Real" Courtyard Statue), and then play as Wario, who was speculated to be in the original game as well. The character choice and extra content of SM64 DS was created by Nintendo as an obvious nod toward Super Mario 64 lore. This would mean that if they ever recreate SM64 again in another updated version, Waluigi may make an appearance of some kind.

how did you literally forget the 1996 E3 demo video of charles marinet doing the same thing with the mario head but with wario, you kept putting the screenshots of it in but not the video? Literally says "you want fun, wario show you fun" and starts playing pong
we didnt know about that exact piece of footage but we did cover it for the most part because the ces footage from 1992 that i mentioned shows off the exact same face rigging software that was used in that video

I was playing SM64 on the Wii and saw some weird crack in Bob-omb Battlefield's mountain, small, but big enough for Mario to fit through. I thought "Huh, never seen that part before."
So Mario is not only a plumber, a carpenter, a doctor, a hotel owner, a castle owner, and the savior of the world...He's also the world's first vtuber. Eat-a your heart out, Kizuna Ai!
I think only a few of them are not cannon, I think is cannon is him being a Carpenter, working at a Cement Factory and maybe Mario and Luigi working at a Bottling Plant and maybe a plumber, but we don't see him do any plumber work in his games
When Nintendo was announcing new N64 releases in the late 90s at a video game tradeshow, they used a picture of the Dire Dire Docks hallway and had a MIRT Wario head, puppeteered by Charles Martinet, emerge from it saying "You want fun?! Wario show you fun!" before the titles of the new games appeared. That is where the original "Wario apparition" footage came from.

I don't believe in the Ai but it is strange how i remember the original N64 Mario lot having arms he was like a Mii had legs body and a head but his arms just floated not connected, it went so far that i thought The DS version of Mario N64 was an improvement as they had updated his model to be more like the sunshine and Luigi's mansion model

Well, he isn't in the final game, BUT he was found in the July 2020 Gigaleak. He was found in the files of a Beta version of SM64. However, to use him, you may need to mod him in.

i found the wario apparition in mario 64s files and found him in the game twice so i think he is real but just really hard to find, also if you beat him in his bossbattle after his chase you will unlock wario and waluigi since theres a waluigi apparition thats comes into the fight shotting ice balls and breaking the castle

I remember as a kid being in the main corridor and something made my game “glitch”. Mario’s head was stuck in the ground and the game was making a horrific sound. It was like seeing a headless Mario. It terrified me and I turned off my N64 immediately. I didn’t play it for a while.

Last year I was Mario I wished I could've trick or treated at a wario apparition spawn in place .but it didn't come true. And this year I am being the character the apparition is based on maybe I should photo shop myself as just a head while wearing a wario costume this year.

Oh man could we get a update in 3D All-Stars and also SM64 Original a 5th File but The 5th File would have a dark secret where when you get to The Basement. But instead of fighting Bowser, you have run away from Wario and the level is named “The Hallway Chase”. So he’ll say this. “You want Fun? Wario show you Fun.” Then he’ll start chasing you. He will try to eat you. But if you eats you, you die. But you don’t respawn in the original place, instead, you’ll respawn in The Boss Fight. Aka Fighting Wario. You’ll have to ground pound on his head 5 times, until you get to Phase 3. So let me explain. So this is very hard phase! So be warned. Now you need to fight Wario until Luigi comes in to help you defeat Wario. He has the ability to Quadriple Jump. And also become Immortal in any situation. And also have every hero ability except mind-control. Wario has that ability. So watch out. And be careful while trying to attack him. Because he will send out void spikes. So watch out because they can insta kill you. So here is how to defeat Wario on Phase 3. Dodge his attacks. And do not obey him. Instead, use your abilities to summon Goombas as your minions. Then you can also spawn Luigi. Who has the same abilitys he gave you. To kill Wario. Then, you can also spawn 100 Marios. So once you done all abilities at once, you can destroy Wario.

I hate this copypasta bullcrap, we've known for years that these things aren't true and even after the community has decompiled the game some people still think it's real when there's solid evidence that it isn't true. I know people are jokingly pushing it as real but still. It bugs me, this is the type of stuff that muddies up facts about the game and it's development cycle, This was Nintendo's first 3D home console game alongside Pilotwings 64, why would they be able to know how to do such an """"""ai"""""" and optimize it for the N64? Like the game is horribly unoptimized... And yeah I will die on this hill.
