  • I did this with GT6 yesterday, it's only fitting that I do GT5 next. Unfortunately unlike it's successor GT6, it's become relatively hard to make lots of money fast on GT5 since the online servers shut down roughly 9 or so years ago. GT5 was always a bit of an odd, quirky one in the franchise with the A-Spec/B-Spec level system. On GT6 there was a daily login bonus that would increase the percentage of the amount of credits you win from races, up to 200% max. This existed in GT5 too and also applied to the XP you earned towards increasing your A-Spec or B-Spec level. The problem is now without that login bonus, since the servers are gone, it's gotten extremely difficult to gain XP to level up, especially in the later stages of the game. You can actually see this throughout the video.
This is important as not only is it harder to grind money, but it's also harder to unlock the events that get you that money as you have to reach a certain A-Spec or B-Spec level to unlock more race events, special events, and even just cars in general. There's 2 ways of going about this and it depends on whether you're simply going for the most amount of money in the shortest time or the most amount of money in the fewest in-game days, which could be helpful with getting certain cars from the used car lot if you get lucky. But you can't predict what's gonna show up there next so this method is not recommended in my book, but I'll go over both anyway.
The first method, the recommended one, for the most money in the shortest time involves the 5-lap Indy race in the American Championship. You'll need to be up to atleast level 23 to enter and you'll need a strong American race car to ensure an easy win. A fast enough car should easily finish the race in well under 4 minutes. It pays out $97,600 each time you win which adds up to almost $1.5 million per hour if you stick to the grind long enough. It's worth mentioning that for both methods you should stick strictly to A-Spec mode, as the same races in B-Spec mode are anywhere from 2-3 times as long as the A-Spec races. So yeah it's easy money with literally no effort, but you pay for it in the long run with the extra time it takes to finish each race, not worth it for the grind. The fact that the AI drivers are slow & stupid as hell doesn’t help.
The second method for the most money in the fewest in-game days involves grinding the Dream Car Championship. A long 5-race tournament. You'll need to be up to atleast level 24 to enter and you'll need a race car around that same level to be competitive enough. Because there's absolutely zero restrictions on this event, if you can wait it out until level 30, you'll unlock the hidden Sebastian Vettel X challenge in the special events. Then you can complete the 3 challenges with the minimum bronze to win a Red Bull X2010 S.Vettel which will make grinding this event much faster & easier. And you're gonna need it as this event will take nearly an hour to do, and that's WITH the Red Bull, it'd take much longer without one.
The first three races are 10 laps each while the last two at Le Mans & the Nurburgring are 3 laps each. If you've already bought the DLC's & have them installed, log in to your PSN account before loading up the game and you can use the Red Bull X2011 for this event, even faster than the X2010. If you don't have them though, you're out of luck as the DLC's were removed from the PS store just before the online servers were taken down. Each race pays $86,600 for winning with a $433,000 bonus for the championship totaling up to $866,000 for the whole thing. But you might be able to cheat your way into getting a little extra.
If you have the regular version of the game, meaning not the XL Edition, consider deleting your game data and trying one of these methods on a very early version of the game. It's important to emphasize though, GAME data, NOT save data, there's a huge difference. Regardless, you may wanna back up your save data just in case before trying this. The reason for doing this in the first place is because the race payouts were higher in the game's early days. The XL Edition of the game comes with version 2.0 pre-installed which is well past when the race payouts were nerfed a bit. Like for instance with the Dream Car Championship, you could be earning $108,000 per race with a $540,000 bonus for the championship totaling up to $1,080,000 for the whole thing, making the grind more worthwhile. And for the 5-lap Indy American Championship race, you could be earning up to $117,000 per race, netting over $1.75 million per hour.
Overall with the way GT5 was designed, it was definitely a lot less prepared for the post online era compared to GT6 as it's a lot harder to earn money quickly compared to on GT6. The seasonal events & daily login bonuses meant everything for both games when it came to making money fast. But turns out you can still make some good money pretty fast, even on GT5, if you know what you're doing.

I used a second step, which is Dream Car Championship, i used to grind the hell out of it, and reached to most amounts of credits. But thanks for reminding this, I'll go back to GT5, i missed playing it..

But, with online custom server, it's possible to win prize credits with login bonus. I'm still making it.

@@AlbertRei3424mods like the Naster Mod allows some online functionality back. Namely login bonus multipliers to EXP and Money earned.
