My shortest lie-flat flight experience was China Eastern SHA-PEK route, one of the most profitable domestic routes in China, also onboard a A330-300 with reverse herringbone seats. The flight was even a bit shorter than 2 hours but everything is included, the onboard meal was not bad and the MU noodles in the China Eastern lounges was one of the highlights. Cathay’s lounges are always top tier but their A330 is one of the oldest in their fleet, the economy class feels especially outdated. A huge contrast to those old school European full-services. Btw not only the Hongqiao Airport has daily flights to HKG, but also the directly-connected Hongqiao Railway station has daily daytime high-speed train services to HK West Kowloon, and even high-speed sleepers from Friday to Monday!
@@imwsss726 that’s true! I flew PEK-PVG or hongqiao couple of times but only in eco. I agree - the lounges are top notch and the a330 is a little dated but I somehow love it. I used to live in HK and Cathay always reminds me of that wonderful time :) thanks for the comment. Would love to fly China eastern and also sichuan airlines on business! The new business class looks great!
@@walkwithjonas7920 Yes MU/FM’s A350 and 787 has one of the best business hard products among mainland Chinese carriers imo. Sichuan’s A350 fleet is also really cool, especially the liveries!
