I kept my PS5 and picked up a refurbished Series S during the Prime Day deals. It's been great for me so far. Couldn't justify spending another $500 on a Series X.
Yeah and there isn’t a point as there are no games on the Xbox that’s worth purchasing a next gen console for facts. One game isn’t a reason. I guarantee you about 30 percent of Xbox users will play starfield, the rest will try it and think naaaah too complex or to boring and slow. I honestly can’t see it being good after 100 hours. The 1000 planets just doesn’t add up to me. 1000 planets of what? Walking ? Cause I guarantee it isn’t quests.good concept but it’s been done with no man’s sky. Glad you were smart and kept the ps5 👍
I bought my series S after one of your reviews and love it. Starfeild on gamepass. Honestly don't know what the problem with 30 fps is all about. I just hope it's not to buggy
If you are playing on an LG C2, 42/48 inches, then the Series S is just fine and will look very good (go for the carbon edition). My reason is that the Switch when playing games at 1080P are upscaled wonderfully. If you are playing on a PC gaming monitor 1080p/1440p, go for the Series S again, but on a standard 55-inch or higher 4K TV, then maybe consider the Series X for tighter textures...
Same here I own a series S, PS5 and 3 switches. Still find myself playing the series S. The most. I would trade it in for a series x. To be honest wish I would’ve just bought the X over the S.
i just went and bought the regular s because i have a ps5 that i use 90% of the time and only game i’m really going to play on xbox is starfield so if you’re in that catagory i would just recommend getting the s (fingers crossed it runs good)
My PS5 is my main console and I bought a series x a few years ago because I felt like I was missing out on game pass. Game pass is great but I don’t use it as much as I was hoping to. I feel obligated to play starfield but i know I won’t have the time to invest in it like it deserves. Who knows, maybe it will be so much fun I won’t have a choice 🤞
For me the Xbox Series S is a good option because of it's affordability (don't need a $1K PC or $500 on Series X) especially if you all own two or three consoles. Because this year there's been a lot good games on Xbox from Hi-Fi Rush to Ghostwire Tokyo and soon Starfield
Great video, starting to settle me for Series s carbon,(i think),i`ve held off on this gen so far & am playing on One X still. At the mo. i only want Starfield & Forza motorsport so am starting to settle on S with those on just digital (obviously)
I own both, prefer my PS5 by an absolute mile and it is definitely my main place to play. I wont sell my XBOX though as I'm eagly excited for Forza Motorsport and STALKER 2. XBOX does back compat better in most cases especially as it will have One X code (on Series X), which 8 times out of 10 is superior to the PS4 Pro versions (RDR2 for example). So with that in mind I'll use it for back compat, game pass to try out games on there which I'd want to buy on PS5 and exclusives which suit my taste ( although not many sadly).
@@jdxcoffee yeah same here mate. Do love me some Forza. I often go back to Fight Night Champion (via EA Play) and it's still a superb boxing game! Hasn't been a better boxing game out there yet and it's a 360/PS3 game!
If you are exclusively a single-player gamer, there would be no reason to trade a PS5 for an Xbox considering the ratio of good quality first player games Edit: I have both, and do not prefer one console over the other.
You can connect a PC to the TV. You can even run it as a separate monitor. I literally play this way from time to time. That 8bitdo pro ultimate controller works with PC... And will then play just like a console. Hey you said let's duke it out in the comments
How do I handle games that I would need to use a keyboard? Doesn't updating video drivers, OS, firmware, etc, kinda get in the way? Idk...I'm just askin...
@@rudyseidl7645 oh good question. Drivers used to be a pain in the ass. But Nvidia and AMD have made their software much better so nowadays drivers just update and optimize themselves. The software that goes with the graphics card that is on your PC will already be tailored to collect and install the proper drivers for only your graphics and for any game that it scans on the PC. TL;DR it does it for you. If a game NEEDS a keyboard oftentimes it will be a PC exclusive or else it wouldn't need the keyboard lol. But if the game is designed with consoles in mind as well as PC... You can just use a controller. They work great. Some games I prefer mouse and keyboard like 7 days to die or something because managing inventory and stuff is just easier with a mouse. And other games like Grounded I stopped playing with keyboard all together and much preferred to use a controller... Much smoother experience.

I really enjoyed your video thanks! Have a question though? I have a 1440p gaming monitor, was wondering if the S would be better or X running 1440p? Would the X have better textures?
The X has HDMI 2 like my TV and 4K, a physical disc drive and a Terrabyte of memory. My husband's S has no disc, less memory and lower graphics, 1480p I believe. For him the graphics dom't matter though because of his TV and he only plays one game anyway. For me, I cannot access as an example, Dragon Age Origins Amaranthine DLC without the disc. I love my X and my husband loves his S. It is all about your situation but the X is superior as the price tag shows. You get what you pay for. I will say, I am already running out of storage space, even with a Tb, games are just getting bigger and bigger.

In conclusion series s is a powerful console for that price and it is good you won’t be disappointed if you are on budget and specially when you don’t have 4k oled 120hz 0.5ms tv.
First off, great video and lots of info. Secondly, I wouldn’t suggest anyone sell their PS for an Xbox to play Starfield. If Fallout 76 and other Bethesda titles are a ‘view to’ their newer releases, it will be plagued with bugs and poor support. I would suggest buying a Xbox Series S (you can get them very cheap on sites like OfferUp), so you can play newer titles without breaking the bank.
Fallout 76 was made by a different studio (Bethesda Game Studios Austin), not the same dev team as Starfield. As for the bugs, the QA team for this game is absolutely massive, much bigger than previous Bethesda games as they have the Xbox QA team on this as well.
@@acurisur yes it was developed by a different team but it is still the same company. They have a track record that we all know of. Sure with having Microsoft backing them will make a HUGE difference but we haven’t seen anything new from Zenimax, BGS, etc. since the purchase of the company by Microsoft. We can’t assume that Starfield will be a home run simply because they have access to Microsoft’s bank account and personal.

I almost went out and picked up a X for this but after I thought about it a while I've decided to wait a bit. It's Bethesda and unless they've changed their tune this game is going to need a lot of patches so I'll just wait and see what happens. I got plenty of games to play while I wait for them to fix their junk and hopefully I'll get a series X on a good sale between now and then.
I have been looking into it and it seems like its been getting that patch work right now to have a good launch. I am not saying it will be perfect but I am noticing the attention here and feel like its gonna be rock solid.
Right, it's Bethesda. But unlike Fallout 76 (which wasn't made by the main studio) or Fallout 4, this was QA tested under the Microsoft umbrella. The QA team was absolutely massive, much bigger than what Bethesda had before the acquisition. Xbox have a lot invested in this so they want as many bugs fixed before launch as possible. I don't think it'll be bug free but I do expect it to be a lot better at launch than Bethesda's other games because of Xbox's involvement.
If people are that tight on a budget resolution is not likely a factor on this game..also it's going to be on game pass ultimate meaning you can play it just about anywhere via cloud streaming and don't need an console at all
For me personally I am team ps, I was allways Xbox until the next gen I made the smart switch and even now I still think the ps5 crush’s the Xbox in terms of games and performance.. but that aside I do have the s, starfield will be as game as big as you want it to be, for me it’s not going to be, I play to many games to dedicate my life to it, I’m 34 now lol so I’ll be whacking it on easy mode smashing through the campaign do all the side content get all the achievements and boom that’s the game done for me, I reckon 100 planets max will be when everything complete and then there will be 900 planets left to explore… to what end ? No vehicles just walking. Pointless really. Suppose we’ll see how that actually works when reviews come out but I have a pretty good estimation on how itl be. Bit series s and a high end tv is enough for starfield 1440p 30fps with s or x so it’s down to res, and being that it’s already been stated it’s a more polished Bethesda game but not as visually amazing as other games it’s safe to say it’s preference. I mean ghost of Tsushima on ps4 😂 1080p still looks better than most modern games
@@jediknight4316 well it is a smart switch because Xbox hasn’t released any games in 3 years lol ps5 dominates the Xbox for games, for performance, sales its just better.

Work your butt off so you can afford the expensive consoles and games. Work harder for the latest and greatest TV and then don't use any of it because you work too much lol
There is no way I'm selling my PS5. However I really want to play Starfield so I'm going to buy a new Xbox. Probably gotta wait a little while to see if the game runs smoothly because we know the reputation here. That 30fps does really suck though. Unpopular opinion incoming but in 2023 if a AAA flagship game can't run smoothly at 60 fps it shouldn't be made. The smoothness is one of reasons why I want top end products and corresponding games.
You're a console player. You just got access to consistent 60 frames *this* generation. This guy's got a $500 PS5 and thinks he's Big League now lol. If you had a proper rig you wouldn't have even typed this drivel🙄

After finally picking up a PS5 a few weeks ago during the summer sale here in the UK, I can honestly say I love both "high end" consoles. PS5 is in the living room, Xbox Series X is in the nerd cave. But funnily enough, I'll be playing Starfield on my gaming PC for now. I might try it on the Series X if the game ever gets a 60fps patch.
30 fps doesn't really bother me. Sure I prefer 60, but I've enjoyed plenty of games at 30. What concerns me more about Starfield is that even though it's been marketed as a space exploration game, it doesn't seem to have the immersion and freedom of traversal I would expect from a game of its type. There's no in-cockpit transition when you blast off into a planet's orbit, and I've heard that there's also no vehicular traversal in the skies of planets. Now those things are fine for a story-focused adventure like Mass Effect, but that's not what I would expect from a game like Starfield. I'm also concerned that Starfield is going to be Fallout 4 in space. I say that because honestly, Fallout 4 bored me. If Starfield is going to be more of that style, then color me uninterested. I'll just have to wait and see what the reviews have to say about it.
I would say don't limit yourself to just starfield as the only experience your get out of the system go enjoy forza horizon and the new motorsport game that drops soon , go play age of empires or flight simulator as bad as rep halo got at least try it , join in with the community on grounded and sea of thieves try some 3rd party games like vampire survivors and remember game pass as all those games are on that service with future games releasing soon lies of p , payday 3 , persona , City skylines 2 will be there day and date , your getting variety your saving money and just enjoy whats on offer
ended up getting the S for gamepass and starfield. Starfield being 1440p on the S is good enough for me and i already have a ps5 anyways as my primary console so i couldnt justify paying extra for the X.
Exactly I don't get it either just the saving of money alone with game pass is a no brainer . The list of games coming in the next year or so with the added games from Activision dropping once the deal has been completed is staggering and its the shear variety of games as well from rts , rpg , action adventure , racing , fps Is a shame its taken the release of starfield to drum into the head of people that there is more to come or realise what's been on offer
There is no good reason to sell PS5 for an Xbox. If Starfield is any good then I would buy a series S over a Series X, because of the parity issue. There is no reason to buy an Series X if the series S is going to prevent seeing its full potential.
The homie said "Hov, there ain't many of us" I told him less is more, nigga it's plenty of us --- Jay-z i hope less people buy xbox casue they are going to stop spoiling us if the numbers go up.
tbh i think its a waste to get a console for 1 game thats my opinion so its better to save and get a decent pc that you can use for more then just gaming
I'm going to say this if your a true gamer you have both systems enough said play on the platform that has the games you wants to play no need to be stupid and sale your ps5 one game for xbox is not going too change anything

I have a feeling that Starfield will be a dissapointment somehow.... Im thinking of selling mine as it has no games (and I dont like sci fi games and genre generally)
@julienmelnick Depends on what you have been waiting for... If, for example, Skyrim outdated engine, loading screens at every door, ladder, settlement town, and a memory leak that gets bigger and bigger, the more you play? Stupid forgettable story and clunky gameplay? Then I guess not.
Yeah right. I doubt many will sell their PS5 just for Starfield. At the end of the day Playstation is just a better overall system. I own all consoles so its whatevers to me.
@julienmelnick Yeah, but I have no allegiance to any system. Playstation just has more overall content with their exclusives and PS Plus. Xbox has gamepass, which I think is great because of the day 1 first and third-party titles. But it's only been just third-party titles for the last few years, and it's only a certain selection of games. Without Gamepass, Xbox would still be collecting dust. It's finally starting to pick up soon, so we will see.

Got my S and a ps5 as my current gen machines, if I didn't have the S there is no way I would sell my ps5.
I do use playstation more by a longshot but as a multi console gamer, I am not upset about having options.
@@jdxcoffee no exactly , the positive is you can actually start the power so the fans remove the dust from the Xbox for the first time in 3 years 😂
@@jediknight4316 well it is a smart switch because Xbox hasn’t released any games in 3 years lol ps5 dominates the Xbox for games, for performance, sales its just better.
@@jediknight4316 all these studios they buy lol because they can’t make games 😂 I personally couldn’t care less I own all consoles but the Xbox is worst out of them all, activation I couldn’t give a toss about, Bethesda …. Not so much maybe if this was years ago, arcane…. Sadly they have already tarnished their rep by forcing a shit game. Blizzard that’s just for nerds, so yeah defo made the smart switch
Got the premium edition on pc. Can't wait to play this next Friday.
I am stoked
Work your butt off so you can afford the expensive consoles and games. Work harder for the latest and greatest TV and then don't use any of it because you work too much lol
hahhahaha
Best game ever and it hasn't even released yet lol. Did anyone learn from Cyberpunk 2077? ThE hYpE iS rEaL.
It is pretty good so far
There is no way I'm selling my PS5. However I really want to play Starfield so I'm going to buy a new Xbox.
Probably gotta wait a little while to see if the game runs smoothly because we know the reputation here.
That 30fps does really suck though.
Unpopular opinion incoming but in 2023 if a AAA flagship game can't run smoothly at 60 fps it shouldn't be made. The smoothness is one of reasons why I want top end products and corresponding games.
I feel this is the popular opinion TBH
You're a console player. You just got access to consistent 60 frames *this* generation. This guy's got a $500 PS5 and thinks he's Big League now lol. If you had a proper rig you wouldn't have even typed this drivel🙄
Please exit the chat.Your attitude is poor and we don't stand for this kind of comment. We PLAY games with each other on whatever we have. You don't see me coming after PC players for any reason. Take it down a notch and either shape up or ship out. @@ShrimplessScampi
@@ShrimplessScampi what a dumb nonsense comment
Upgraded to a series X for Starfield and every other dope game on game pass I haven’t played yet.
🤷🏻♂️
What a dream. stoked for you
Thanks dude! Hope you find some enjoyment in it also
Thanks!
I might try it on the Series X if the game ever gets a 60fps patch.
hahah isn't that how gaming as an adult goes now
This will get a fps boost pretty quick...once it gets more optimized..
We will see
Don't hold your breath on that one! They've had YEARS to optimize it. If you want 60 fps you'll need a PC.
adding my .2 cents in the console wars, PC is far superior 30fps dont apply to us. (also i bought the starfield xbox controller for my pc)
I don't hate on PC but my main reason to not cover it is lack of knowledge and price point to power ratio
@@jdxcoffee that's true spent 5k on a rig with 4090 compared to 500 not sure of video cards for ps5 or Xbox
Yea not the same world. Shouldn't be compared at all really. I am trying to separate the two more. @@brianshrimp5824

I had both Series X and Playstation 5. I Sold the Playstation 5 it was a waste of money to buy and it feel good see it gone .
Selling mine now!
For Starfield?
Series s should be fine for Starfield.
A lot of assumptions in your comment, better to wait until reviews are out as comments like yours could age like milk.
We will have to wait and see. My concern is more that the open ness will feel overwhelming
I’m just going to upgrade my PC with a 6700xt so I can play 😊
I would say don't limit yourself to just starfield as the only experience your get out of the system go enjoy forza horizon and the new motorsport game that drops soon , go play age of empires or flight simulator as bad as rep halo got at least try it , join in with the community on grounded and sea of thieves try some 3rd party games like vampire survivors and remember game pass as all those games are on that service with future games releasing soon lies of p , payday 3 , persona , City skylines 2 will be there day and date , your getting variety your saving money and just enjoy whats on offer
GamePass and my Samsung TV with Xcloud
For sure
30 fps is killing me but what we can do ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤i wanna play it ❤❤❤keep going ❤❤❤
I think it will get patched up
I have a Samsung 4K 32” 2020 not 2021 I was soo close 😂 but I still playing on my small room
Right on
ended up getting the S for gamepass and starfield. Starfield being 1440p on the S is good enough for me and i already have a ps5 anyways as my primary console so i couldnt justify paying extra for the X.
YES
Yes to what?
Ill buy an xbox for starfield. I wont switch over or sell my ps5. Ps5 will still be my primary gaming system
I have a series s and i hope it looks good i mean elden ring looks good on the s but i will not sell my ps5 for a x
I am sure it will look great
People keep saying one game like Xbox not coming with a new AAA every quarter. That’s 4 times a year
Exactly I don't get it either just the saving of money alone with game pass is a no brainer .
Bought a cheap 150 series S off of Facebook marketplace should be good
it will be great
There is no good reason to sell PS5 for an Xbox.
If Starfield is any good then I would buy a series S over a Series X, because of the parity issue. There is no reason to buy an Series X if the series S is going to prevent seeing its full potential.
The homie said "Hov, there ain't many of us"
I told him less is more, nigga it's plenty of us --- Jay-z
i hope less people buy xbox casue they are going to stop spoiling us if the numbers go up.
huh?
The series X all the way 🙌🏽
PC crew. My rig is ready.
"There's no world where Starfield's an 11 out of 10 and people start selling their PS5s. That's not gonna happen."

hahaha. What a time to be alive
Good vid. 😊
Thanks! 😁
You mean downgrade ??? No thanks
You needed that more than we did friend. It's ok to just play on PC and not make a fuss about it
tbh i think its a waste to get a console for 1 game thats my opinion so its better to save and get a decent pc that you can use for more then just gaming
maybe for xbox gaming but I know a lot of people who got switches just for totk and PS for FFXVI
@@jdxcoffee yep, we got a Switch just for Mario Kart and a PS5 for FFXVI
I'm going to say this if your a true gamer you have both systems enough said play on the platform that has the games you wants to play no need to be stupid and sale your ps5 one game for xbox is not going too change anything
Is Star field even going to work on the series s? If it does it must be a smaller game than bauldersgate.
So this is what Kevin Smith does now
play starfield on pc if you want to go above 30 fps
that is an option
More than anything, I say wait for the reviews before spending any money!
I'm not sure the reviews will change peoples mind. this game has ample coverage.
Starfield is why Game Pass makes sense. I won't pay anything to play Starfield as I got Game Pass Ultimate for 2 years with my Series X.
I've got a series X, and seriously considering selling it for a Ps5 so I can play Baldurs Gate... Ideally my Mrs will just let me have both 👀
hahah what a crazy time to be alive

Baldurs gate Is getting a xbox release this year starfield isn't getting a release on playstation
@@masterrugg22 yeah I was just being impatient lol, I'll wait :)

Thank you im going for series s i was thinking the game will be only on X
Are you high? I’ll keep my ps5 for spider man and play Starfield on my gaming pc 120fps. You guys should sell your Xbox’s and start building a pc.

Can’t wait to play on my series S
Stoked for you anthony
I have a ps4 and a 65" 4k samsung tv.. really interested in Starfield and was thinking of getting a current gen system anyway. Im thinking probably go ahead and go with the series x. Sounds like my tv should help it shine

Ps it's has the best back catalog out there...I can play fight night champion and other classics
I was gonna joke and say pc😂 but seeing how the price is... Unless you ok with midrange or lower just to get the game running, PC.
Nobody will sell the ps5 for one game 😅ps5 is awesome who the hell would do that i enjoy my s and happy i can play starfield it does the job dont need the sereis x when have a s alresdy that does the same thing

Depends on what you have been waiting for...
If, for example, Skyrim outdated engine, loading screens at every door, ladder, settlement town, and a memory leak that gets bigger and bigger, the more you play?
Stupid forgettable story and clunky gameplay?
Then I guess not.

PC here , I hate 30fps...
I am not bothered by frame rates. While I would prefer higher, I'm not building a PC for a game
@@jdxcoffee I don't blame you ..that would be like my buying a PlayStation for 1 game.I figure they'll eventually come to PC !
Do you need to be all about sell this or sell that in order to get views?
Not at all. I want to answer the questions I see popping up on Reddit and Facebook groups
Yeah right. I doubt many will sell their PS5 just for Starfield. At the end of the day Playstation is just a better overall system. I own all consoles so its whatevers to me.
I feel like ti really comes down to preference
@julienmelnick Yeah, but I have no allegiance to any system. Playstation just has more overall content with their exclusives and PS Plus. Xbox has gamepass, which I think is great because of the day 1 first and third-party titles. But it's only been just third-party titles for the last few years, and it's only a certain selection of games. Without Gamepass, Xbox would still be collecting dust. It's finally starting to pick up soon, so we will see.
Buying u used series s for $200
SIIIIIIICCCKKKK
Sell your ps5 with spiderman 2 a month away .... good idea..... this dude talks 💩 ... if u just wonna play 1 game get the s .... if u want the better looking version get the x its not rocket science
