Please continue making videos! I saw that you do not have many, and your videos are so educational. I am an environmental science student, focusing specifically on conservation of natural habitats with a focus from there on birds. I know much about exotics, but have started to turn my focus on the birds of North America, specifically our protected birds of prey. Much of my education will focus on falconry as a sport and how the regulations set forth and the sport itself focuses on protecting these species as much as possible. I cannot get that education in a classroom! I am going to have to receive it through other means. Books are a great resource, but videos and personal experience are going to give me much needed information. I find your videos to be extremely informative and more than helpful!
+Shannon Baribeau I will continue indefinitely! I'm unable to put videos out on a regular basis, as I'm juggling 3 roles for the company I work for, as well as a law major, (full-time student), on top of ensuring my bird gets to kill each and every day. So I publish things sort of sporadically. Stay tuned though, and best of luck with your very interesting endeavors!
+Kitsapbeek Priorities, focus on the priorities... The house can wait. Just kidding! Truthfully though, I'm glad to hear it. Best of luck with your house, and your future career in falconry.
Fantastic video again man but o would love to get into falconry myself and I've been going on courses to learn some stuff but do you know much about falconry in the UK?
+Zig Zag I have a loose knowledge of UK falconry, largely garnered from various books and a plethora of internet videos. I've never spent time in the UK, though I'd love too eventually.
This GPS system may be extremely useful for hacking eyass if it was fully weatherproof and had a long battery life. Of course you would still have to worry about predators, but at least you'd know where your hawk was. Perhaps, with some improvements, it could be used for migratory animals, and picked up by other scientists whenever it fell out. Either way, this is amazing technology!
it works in wide open plane fields... show how it works at the mountains like here in switzerland.. or in city or town... technically its nithing else than that what every small drone has with it... and a flight controller software on the tab... just you cannot control but only see or "read" what the birds doing...
That was awesome , love the idea of falconry and this is the only website that provides clear information.Unlike most channels it is up to date. One question though are you an apprentice falconer or a general falconer?
Most flying long wings have moved away from bells, they are cumbersome for a fast high flying falcon needing agile use of its feet, as well as giving an unnecessary advantage to their prey by giving away their presence, telemetry & GPS has rendered them nearly obsolete though they still have their uses and are used by some Falconers.
Dakota u depends if you’re getting a new or used unit, you’ll need of course the three primary components, the pocketlink, receiver, and transmitter, then decide how you’ll mount it, backpack vs bewit, etc. You can find pricing over at Marshall Radio Telemetry’s website.
+Falconer's Apprentice I saw the web site and really looks nice,What i would like to ask if the bird get lost can i use only this device to track it or i need something more? my island is less then 20 miles long..but lets say that the bird hide into a rocky structure will the gps continue to work?
bagged for the purpose of showing how the gps gear works ...How many times has that been done to imprint into the birds brain to know a baggie from a wild bird .Bagged birds ruin good falcons ....regards uk

What camera gear do you use? Just curiosity I know it may be a secret though. :)
No secrets! Recently we have been using Canon's 5d Mark III, but this footage was shot with a Canon XA10 and 70d.
Do you think it is possible to use only the GPS System without having a normal Marshall receiver?
+AlphaSchweinGaming It works with Marshall's UHF receiver, on the 433 or 434mhz channels.
How much?
MAN HE HIT THAT PIGEON A TON!
I want it!
No bells? I understand the purpose of the GPS, but shouldn't bells be put on anyway?

Included in this unit is a back up radio transmitter, in case the GPS fails for any reason.
