When we visit Akron from Virginia, one must stop for us is Mr. G's Pizzeria & Wings, 2955 W. Market, behind the Rite Aid. Our family usually gets at least one of the 24 inch pizzas, depending on how many of our family gather that evening.
Great places! There's some spots I've driven by but never tried. I'll definitely stop to try some of these places! Great vid there's plenty of little gems around the Akron area.
@@livinginnortheastohio Yes its a seafood place. We go for the oysters. They're very very good... if you like oysters. Then usually we get lobster tails, but I did get crab cakes one time and those were very good as well.
I can’t get past the look and texture of oysters, but have heard if you can get past that, they are delicious. I love seafood so I’ll have to give that place a shot.
You gotta try “Wise Guys” Sort of upscale restaurant, intimate dining or bar experience. Very much goodfellas vibes. Food is incredible and service (especially at the bar) is amazing. The owner is often there and will chat up folks at the bar. Great for a late lunch or dinner. No dress code but it feels like a fancy speakeasy, can’t recommend them enough.
Where is a good place for a hearty breakfast Biscuits and Gravy, chicken waffles? for the weekend of the Hall of Fame Game staying at the Staybridge Suites in Stow, (will travel for good food) Saw your canton video too, it was great.
I can recommend the Brick Haus on Howe Ave. Very good food and service. And Fuji Hot Pot and Sushi on Britain Rd. Best sushi I've had in Akron and the Hot Pot option is very unique to the area.
@@livinginnortheastohio With Hot Pot it's sort of a make your own soup. You have an induction burner right at your table. You are given a pot of broth. Chicken, beef, fish, etc. whatever you want. You select what meats, veg, etc you want and seasonings. All that goes in the pot. Let it simmer a bit. Voila. Dinner is served.
It’s the same concept as Hot Pot it sounds like. They bring you meats and vegetables to cook in your own broth. You can get appetizers such as different cheeses to dip things in, and you can get different chocolates to dip desserts in after the main course.
@@livinginnortheastohio It's been a while since I went there (I live in Florida now). But it's always good and it's a different type of burger and fries than swenson's. Everytime I go back to Northeast Ohio to visit family - I try to hit up swenson's, luigi's, louie's, or some of my favorite spots in Kent.
@@livinginnortheastohio Its fantastic! The menu is limited and seems to slightly rotate seasonally but everything I've ever ordered there is good. They have a great BYO burger option with gourmet topping and sauce options if you're into that

I needed this video. I just moved to akron from cleveland and only had mr hero's and chinese food so far. I wanted some wings and beer and drove to kent.
I am happy I could help you. Mr. Hero and Chinese are not exactly the best food. Mr. Hero tastes good, but there are better options. Let me know if you need any more suggestions. I am happy to help any way I can.
None of these places are great. If you want good food downtown go to Lockview, Farmer boy in North hill or Dontino's, Liugi's, Angle Falls in Highland square for coffee.
@Living in Northeast Ohio everything at the Lockview, Farmer boy must try the Friday night fish, any of the bake goods at angle Falls, the Italian sausage at Dontino's.

A 24 inch pizza is huge! I have heard good things about Mr. G’s. I have never been there. What brings you up here from Virginia?
@@livinginnortheastohio Family and especially at Thanksgiving. BTW, Mr. G's does have smaller sizes.

#1 Swensons, Another must have in Akron Luigi's
Louie's Bar and Grille is great on Glennwood and Talmadge. Real nice burger and fries.
There are so many good places to eat. It’s hard to list them all. Luigi’s is another classic.

Short Plate. By the way, I'm also a youtuber, and I'm gonna talk about why I hate wine

Mmmmm hamburger station...yummmmm

Giuseppe's Pizza is the best pizza in Ohio, not just Akron.
