Tyler I was about to say the same! When they all come in at the beginning of the song it sounded so massive to me... I think one of the reasons why I love Gojira is because of their sound. This also happens to me with Cynic, Meshuggah, and to a lesser extent with Linkin Park (the breakdowns of Given Up, From the Inside, One Step Closer...), and Paramore.
This performance was literally perfect. Possibly the best performance of theirs i have ever seen though they always fucking melt the stage. Joe's tone was absolute perfection.
- Is there some of you who had already seen Gojira in concert? *Mario had* - So who are those who are seeing us for the very first time? *Mario* I absolutely love this guy.
only discovered Gojira recently...then saw them live this past weekend in Camden, NJ....it's like hearing Sabbath, Pantera, and Static-X all meshed into one....then seeing them live, their fucking ENERGY...blew my mind. These guys are absolutely AMAZING!!!!
I realized after seeing this after 3 months that i pushed the dislike rather than the like. I fixed my mistake. Forgive me for my insolence, my master. GOJIRA!
i saw these guys open for in flames like 5 years ago, and i hadn't heard of them before. the funny thing is that i'm know a bigger fan of gojira than i ever was of in flames
DjoZef, I thank you so much for taking initative to share Gojira with the world, I wish I where more like you and get off my lazy arse sometime! Gojira fuckin' rules! The best band, no doubt. :)
If someone who has been listening to metallica or anything like some of the new metal that been created watches this, they would pass the fuck out and realize what they have been looking for lies within one band that blows all the rest outta of the water. Gojira took metal and improved it to a point where the actual heaviest matter in the universe is called GOJIRA.
translation: lady's and gentlemen, we are here today...with the help of ancient indian spirits and warriors to rip this stage (and your minds) in half with our raw power....we are GOJIRA!

Anyone else feel that Opeth and Gojira have a similar sound? Not in a bad way, just think their twist on Death Metal is really related. Love both bands btw.
I totally see where you are coming from, I also find Gojira has a ``Tool`` (the band) aspect to their music. It`s heavy but artistic at the same time, a difficult feat to attain.
+acadianalien isn't mikael part of Opeth and not Gojira? Actually Joe Duplantier and Mario Duplantier are the ones who do the writing for gojira (lyrcially and musically) and they're both fans of bands like Metallica, Tool and Death, but that's about the only metalbands i've heard them talk about. Joe once said he likes Massive Attack and Radiohead while Mario likes Indian music (the natives of America).
@SumFallGrace Alors : " Es-ce que y\en a parmis vous qui ont deja vu gojira en concert ? Qui nous a jamais vu et nous voit pour la premiere fois ? Ca c'est bon ca ! Merci beaucoup d'etre la ... "
@Gojiraka Exactly - like mother nature, peaceful and brutal at turns, Gojira is a force of nature, a reflection of our planet in the 21st Century. One could even compare with Black Sabbath for some themes, but except Gojira is at the other end of the metal evolutionary tree - the top right now. Merci beaucoup Gojira.
@TVismyopiate good reply...there is another film that an anthropologist/metalhead made called A Headbangers Journey...it does a real good job of chronicling the twisting-turning road we have taken to get where we are right now :)
@dugounet1 Ca fait un moment que Remembrance n'est plus dans la setlist. La dernière fois c'était fin 2008 lorsque Gojira jouait en première partie d'In Flames. ;)
@TVismyopiate he never said fathers. he said titans which i completely agree with. they basically molded and perfected metal in the 80's along with metallica, megadeth, slayer, testament, sepultura, death, etc. but to say that anthrax is a metal titan is absurd.
Ride a horse that's cleaving through

Since you were born

The ending of this song, literally melts my face.
I agree, as a drummer
Gojira...a sound to behold.
How does this sound better live? Insane talent-- and Mario, as always, is a monster.
Tyler I was about to say the same! When they all come in at the beginning of the song it sounded so massive to me... I think one of the reasons why I love Gojira is because of their sound. as if the song wasn't awesome enough, these guys had to go and perform the shit out of it
Mario's countdown was melting my face
Jason Murillo what a bunch of assholes
Jason Murillo have you ever seen them? They perform the shit out of everything.
duplantier is currently THE BEST rythm guitarist imo.every time i watch him live i always notice a new thing i can do to improve my skills.
This performance was literally perfect. Possibly the best performance of theirs i have ever seen though they always fucking melt the stage. Joe's tone was absolute perfection.

hhaha
You can add a solo to a song to make it good, but you need spirit, heart and guts to make it a master-piece.
I don’t understand how they sound so good live

Long live Gojira, bringer of great music!
Holy fuck Mario. These guys are all really good but Mario is on a different level.
It's been a while since any music gave me goose bumps.

Grandiose. Mélodie entêtante.
I've got the same Ride Cymbal as the drummer. It's such a sick cymbal for metal and all around heavier stuff.
Meanest. hardest video I ever saw ...they bruised it so rough it's throbbing!!\,,/
