I ordered two sets on Amazon a few days ago, so this video came at a perfect time. I have an idea of how to play it after watching Squid Game S2, but this will help clear some confusion. I also didn't know that this can be played by two people. Thank you!!
Pass! Haha. Thank you for this AKM, they played it so fast in Squid Game I was wondering what the actual rules were. And now I know! Your channel is the best.😍
A very cool game ,thank for showing us how it's played ... it's similar to a game we grew up playing called "Jacks" .. we had many days and hours of fun playing it..and got good at it .. playing to win 🥰.. " Jacks" included a small rubber ball and metal Jacks ...
Hello and greetings from Greece!!! Children here used to play it in the '70 and early '80. It was one of the games that the older kids used to teach to the youngest. Here it is called "pentόvola" and it is similarly played with 5 small, flat stones. You could play the easy version, using both hands. Or play it in exactly the same way you play it in this video! Beautiful culture similarities!!! I was born in the mid '80, so I didn't get the chance to play it... We still played many games, but not this one. I tried now that I am 40, with beer bottle caps. It's impossible to pass level 1, since they are too large and light. I always fail on the 2nd level. I can't catch the last 2. I also tried with 5 small stones. I only pass level two. I as well tried, but I still can't balance more than 2 stones on the back of my hand, let alone catching them. I also tried with erasers. They tend to roll a lot. So, I am planning to buy online the ones you use in Korea and practice, cause I really enjoy it. It pisses me off that I fail, so I hope I can get it! Great video. Take care!
What a great game! I used to play that with little pebbles outside. You are very good at it. Did you enjoy Squid Game 2? I thought it was brilliant. I am really looking forward to season 3.
No Wonder you used to play when student you very fast 😳 so we have kind of the same game in france we call (jouer aux osselets) play with tiny bones which i used to play like you when student very old game 👍😉
We used to play similar games with jacks (ten jacks to start). I think flipping over would be easier with jacks because of the way they nest, the cubes more challenging. And yes, you’re good at this 😂
If anyone that doesn’t want to but the gongginori wants to try to play it with other objects, u should find ar least five small simillar sized objects that aren’t too thin and DON’T BREAK EASELY!! (I was trying to play this with some tiles from the local pool cuz ik they weren’t secured so I js picked them up, and I cut my hand too many times and they broke a lot)
I’ve played this before. I wasn’t very good at it-I think I could get to three or four, haha. Getting them to land on the back of my hand was really difficult! I’ve played Yut Nori a couple of times before too.
Teacher, are there any tips for making the fifth stage easier? I was able to practice and get the hang of the first four stages, but the fifth stage is quite difficult.
Are those University of Michigan "M"s in the background? Anyway, I play a lot of board games, so I'll try using some smaller D6 dice to play this little game. I also have a Congo African Grey parrot who loves dice. Maybe she'll give this game a try. lol
It looks like a game we played as kids. I didn’t know watch squid game. Because I think it has some violence not really sure. But I prefer drama that doesn’t have violence.
So if you successfully make it through all five levels and score any amount of years, is it still your turn until you fail, or is it automatically the next persons turn?
Thank you for the explanation) Is this game really considered as girls' game? cause in Squid game 2, they asked a female character if she can play the game. Also, the male character with tied hair said that he used to play the game with his four sisters.
Yes, in the past it used to be but I think that's way tooooo long ago. Because even when I was in elementary school, which was 20 years ago, many guys played this game.
This game is spread all over the planet, it's very old, my mother played it with pebbles when she was a child, around 1934, somewhere in Europe... Nothing new under the sun.😁
I will dedicate a minute to praising your English, sir. You have my utmost respect! 🤝🏻

Both girl’s games
@@TheSkeleTrombone it was also popular in Greece, during the '70 and the early '80. Both boys and girls played it here!

This was fun. I’d like to give it a try. You’re really good at Gongi Nori - practice, right?
A lot like the game of Jacks.
This is exactly the same game in Middle East called Sagla
Can you make a video for activities/food in Korea during winter (Jan, feb) ?
Teacher, are there any tips for making the fifth stage easier? I was able to practice and get the hang of the first four stages, but the fifth stage is quite difficult.
Practice is the only way....I'm sorry there is no secret 😭
@@average_korean_manThank you😳
In the show, it was implied this was a girls' game. In your generation, was it for both genders ?
Are those 5 games, still being played by kids ?
It used to be girls game long long ago. Before my generation.
I don't think kids play those games anymore these days
Any tips to get the gonggi-nori on top of your hand
Just posted a video of me doing it btw
Are those University of Michigan "M"s in the background? Anyway, I play a lot of board games, so I'll try using some smaller D6 dice to play this little game. I also have a Congo African Grey parrot who loves dice. Maybe she'll give this game a try. lol
Yes, the University of Michigan haha
Can I play with regular d6?
Great video! Where can I buy it?

You shouldn't touch any other Gonggi except the one you're supposed to pick up.
Yes that's correct
So if you successfully make it through all five levels and score any amount of years, is it still your turn until you fail, or is it automatically the next persons turn?
It's still your turn until you fail.

It is like jacks
