I imagine a hero coming to the final hall of at the end of their journey, thinking about all the friends they've lost, all the people they've tried to save, all the pain brought on by the villain at the top of the staircase. The lights shining in through the decrepit fortress walls, and shimmering on his brilliant sword that reflect on to his sullen but determined face and it's almost as if he can see the reflections of those lost in the violence. He notices a single tear drop onto the sword and it brings him out of the trance. Gripping the handle of his weapon and knowing that this was the time to make it all right, to make all the pain and sacrifice not in vain, to end it all and be rid of the evil for good.
The cover art shown here is for the digital/CD release and clearly depicts the crumbling ruins of a once mighty castle. The cassette cover, on the other hand, depicts that ruined castle but instead in the glory and strength of its heyday standing firm above the landscape. A clever detail I thought.
