Very good video and explanation even for non-technical viewers. My two questions as one of those non-technical viewers are equally simple and I wished you had included the answers in the summary: 1. Is this as secure, or more, than Bitcoin's current protocol? 2. Is this different to other POS protocols competing against Cardano's, like Ethereum's?
From what I understood, the goal is to get fast finality without compromising security so it's still as secure as Bitcoin. About 2, Ethereum doesn't have fast finality as far as I know... In summary this will bring fast finality to cardamo when at least 75% of the nodes are honest and will simply behave just like now in the other case.
As an entire infrastructure design, I feel its more secure as the nodes are independent and not incentivized to focus towards large mining pools like F2 pool
@@2072 But you're making an assumption here, when you say that it is "still" as secure as Bitcoin. So, you're saying that Cardano's POS as it is right now, pre-Ouroboros Peras (which pertains to fast finality, specifically), is as secure as Bitcoin? That's what I would like to have an explanation for, in layman terms that are not akin to "just read the 30 peer reviewed papers, bro" (the usual answer I have always gotten whenever I've asked the question).
So I am 5 years in Cardano, today i thought i would have a play on SUI block chain, I was shocked to get INSTANT transactions, I mean no monetary system anywhere has ever been that instant for me. Amazing tech. Tokenomics are bad though. When will Cardano be this fast, it makes such a difference. Also someone tells me we still use google cloud servers where ICP does everything on chain/in house? So does this make Cardano not actually decentralized if they rely on google servers?
Sui using bft makes it less secure than nakamoto consensus/long chain. Well, there's always a tradeoffs, and cardano willing to sacrifice speed for security and decentralization, there is still a way to optimize the speed on cardano with leios, but i think it still won't be as fast as some centralized blockchain. Layer 2 in cardano will give you an option for different tradeoffs i.e hydra, gummyworm, midgard focus on speed while sacrificing decentralization.
Great presentation. Very clear, and good reference diagrams. Thank you.
Great explainer! Thank you IO.
Awesome explanation! I'm excited to see this live on Cardano.
I can't believe the market is fading ADA. Holy shit.
We’re so early these are our Bitcoin story moments. Cardano has its own story to make
Lets gooo
Go Cardano!
ADA is a sleeper
This is amazing and incredibly helpful to better understand Peras. Sandro is awesome!
Awesome stuff!
Great presentation!
Great Job TEAM !
Super helpful ❤❤ thanks
Professional. Respect.
Cardano will prevail | cheers

@@hnhl2770Check out Cardano Sapien's Videos. If my memory serves me ccorrectly Cardano will be safer than BTC after Genesis
Thanks IO

Thanks ❤
Great explanation
Going for number one!
Let's go

Cardano uses google cloud just to backup mythril snapshot, but full node ledger state is still on-chain.

The important things for ada besides the technology is the PRice is Up making New all time high. $ 10 on december 2024. Thank yoi

worst investment of my portfolio
Only if your best investments aren't hacked, rug-pulled or taken down for fraud ✌️
There's more than Ada within Cardano.. which companies did you find?
i invested 5 years ago but in life i realized my bets take 10 years to mature.
