FMSZERO having a friend help me learn how to fly, after the first flight lasted 10 seconds he had me watch your beginner videos and yesterday was my second flight and he felt so comfortable he stopped watching me, these videos are a huge help!
Congrats Nathan. Its a tough hobby to master. You just gotta have a lot of focused practice.. You'll get it.. Just know that its fun and when you pile in a plane, its not a big deal.. Just laugh it off, fix it and do it again..😎
FMSZERO - Steffen, as a new RC pilot I really appreciate your channel! I really like your videos, because you talk about your controls especially when coming in for landings. They are very helpful!
Great beginner warbird. I've had 5 over the years. They do start to wear out at about 60-100 flights but FMS stocks plenty of spare parts. Landing gear begins to bend then break after repeated landings and the area just ahead of the cockpit is weak and will snap off if you accumulate too many hard landings so I reinforce mine. Props are a little fragile so I use Master airscrew. I use the recommended FMS battery which is heavier and adds weight. Lasts 10 minutes easily . I would recommend the gyro for beginners to warbirds. It's very fast and agile and can get away from a novice very quickly. I've have tons of fun with mine and only lost one of mine when a tree ran in front of me. I have 4 left and the y are painted in different schemes hence the reason for so many. They are really quite beautiful. Let me add once you master this plane you can fly any warbird. Add me to the drawing! I'm one short in my Kokutai.
Good morning. Thank you for the quick overview of the fmszero. It’s a beautiful plane. I am new to the hobby and your videos have been very informative. I hope to fly as well as you one day. Have a great day.
Thanks.. Just keep practicing on your flying. Having a flight with purposeful practice is the only way to get better. Get to the point you can have perfect circuits that align with the runway and have consistent altitude, then work on your perfect approach, then perfect landings and so on.. It takes stick time to get good.. Just keep at it.. - Will
Keep up with those training videos they are very well done - FMSZERO - Rudder authority on ground : Try moving the linkage at the rudder surface to the inner hole and the rudder servo arm linkage to the outer hole. If that makes rudder yaw too twitchy in air you can assign a switch with rates for ground and air to limit it.
Thanks.. Really appreciate the comments. I'd like to adjust the tailwheel linkage, but there isn't much room to dig into it. It seems like it was installed prior to the fuselage halves being glued. Its Ok.. Just requires some room for turning around on the runway...
I have the 800mm p51 and absolutely love the thing! I also have the 1.1 zero and love that thing tooo! Always wondered how this 800 zero flew.... but thought it was actually a 750mm ? Really enjoyed the video again🙌🙌 FMSZERO
Hi Will. Enjoyed your review of the "FMSZERO" this morning. It does look like a nice war bird with good handling / flying abilities. If a person has some nice soft grass to land on - it seems like it would be a good plane to fly without the gear. I was pleasantly surprised that you had the aerobatic ability shown with just a 2S battery. And it had a good presence in the air.
Thanks Adam.. Kinda funny to see all the comments. Lots of great support for the channel too. Makes me feel good about spending all those hours making videos.. You know what I mean..
This little FMS Zero looks like a fun plane. I have yet to fly a warbird. This would be a great way to start. Thanks for your always thoughtful reviews.
Thats another FMS plane I'd like to try. I have a mess of their warbirds and just got the 1400 Corsair. I'm curious how it will compare to my 1700mm FMS Corsair.. fun, fun.... Good luck on the drawing.. - Will
Great little FMS ZERO! I really like your videos! Curious as to why you did not provide view of maiden flight? Thanks for providing great RC content! FMSZERO
It is a great little plane. I didn’t include the maiden because I was up pretty high during the tuning and the footage wouldn’t really show it off well. Brings up a question in my mind. Do viewers want to see the maidens, or a video to show off the planes performance? Or a little of both?? Let me know. Thanks Will
I do really appreciate the view of the maiden, as I find it helps me to see and hear what might happen during trimming. Your CG explanation was really helpful too!!
Great plane! Do you think it will be possible to attach a camera to it? It's a pity that only people from the US can take part 😅, but good luck to all US residents! Happy Easter!
I think a small 1S VTX system would work. There isn't any room in the battery compartment for the Camera and VTX, so you'd need to find a way to install in the canopy.. Sorry I can't extend the prize to outside the US..
