this wasn't long enough! i was emersed into the story while doing other things and then it cuts and i thought my battery died for some reason. part two please!
so true when you said parents just talk to us and not speak to us, as i got older i realised its all they known, war torn refugee era was tough, grateful their still around. great topic bro
I encountered two diff types of korean immigrants over the years both on the west and the east coast. those who couldn't make it in korea so came here for the american dream and started from scratch and those who were already successful in south korea and wanted to take their professions to the next step. their family cultures were very different tbh even though they were all koreans.
Haven't watched your podcasts for nearly 2 years now as I haven't had time but this was absolutely hilarious, missed watching your content bro, love that you've kept the same energy throughout the years
I thoroughly enjoyed listening to their stories as a child of South Asian immigrants myself... So relatable and even opened my eyes to different perspectives (empathizing with our parents, trying to understand them etc).
did the camera die at the end? lol that was hilarious and very insightful as a non Asian listening to these stories idk how to say or what the feeling is but I know its a positive one and I enjoy them a lot
I love this podcast, when David speaks Korean is awesome - love to hear it! I hope you incorporate the language in more of your videos ❤️ you guys are hilarious! One of my favorite episodes yet 😂
I have the same type of condition as your mom, it’s called hypohydrosis. I can sweat but only very little and nearly died from it as a teenager. It really sucks, I feel bad for your mother to have that while living in California! I hope your family’s house has good ac!
i really enjoy when you and Ed talk about your childhood and the Korean immigrant experience. for my entire childhood my mom would freak out when i would watch Batman cartoons or anything related to Batman. at the tender age of 30 i found out that mom thought he was called Badman and didn’t want me to see what Badman did so i would copy him. 🤣🤣🤣
Anybody know what happen to Paul Kim and David? They used to collaborate together on music/skits videos. I don’t see Paul making anymore UA-cam videos.
I’m also a southeast Asian refuge but My family came to the U.S really late and I can relate because I have lots of older cousins, uncles and same thing with my friends, lots of the older generation were super gang affiliated. Kinda funny and crazy
You and Ed are so fkin funny together esp. with all the korean stuff. I was trying so hard not to burst into laughter at work 🤣🤣🤣 Gonna go watch this a second time when i get home so i can actually laugh lmao 😂😂😂
I'm the oldest of my siblings. I got beat for everything my siblings did too. Cause I taught them or just cause I'm the oldest for not watching over what they did
You two be havin premium soju without a fellow Korean like me?! TFTI!! Lol jk! You and Ed are always nailing EVERY Korean American issue right now! I definitely like to put my 2 cents on it!
Acutally can be like 사실은(.....) so it's even MORE insulting in Korea 🤣 사실은 네가 바보인거야 ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ But I really do feel this conversation tho, as Korean immigrant who went to States and having to live most of my life there, under a super devoted Christian household, after growing up I've realized how much pent up emotion that I have stored up so much that it was affecting my emotional state and psychological state. Super happy that this is a much more widely known thing that people experience as a American grown Korean lol
I listen to ur podcast sometimes man but I hope u guys get back to Jesus. Maybe ur experiences weren’t right but I feel like u guys have the foundation and have went away from it. Not judging bro 🙏🏼

My mom has been saying there's probably Mongolian genes in us too lol. It didn't show on mine, but it does say 2% Japanese
As this was being edited, I can hear someone be like "Man, so tired. Let me just pull a 'Sopranos" and call it a wrap". Lol.
12:46 As someone who grew up in a Christian home, I can totally relate to David’s mental/emotional landscape at the time 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
