Congratulations on your mock results, they are so good and very well deserved!
I did A-level history too as well as psychology and I struggled with history the most by far but I put so much effort into it by the end of year 13 and came out with a C (I honestly didn’t think I’d get highly than a D).
However, that was last year and obviously I didn’t sit the exams in the typical way due to the disruption from covid. X

Thank you! And that’s an amazing result considering the pandemic and also that you found it a difficult subject - you should be very proud! x

Well done on your mock grades! I do the same subjects and I’m predicted A*A*A (English screwed me over lmao). If I’m not mistaken, I thought you were applying to Cambridge? That’s where I’m hoping to apply to! I’m also thinking of UCL, but I am also having the same struggle in liking the city (I’m from Birmingham).
Ps: personal statement is kicking my butt right now lmao

Essentially all A Levels are hard but I would say that there is a misconception about psychology, some thinking it’s an “easier subject”, which it’s not! It’s really enjoyable don’t get me wrong but there is a lot of biology, maths and research methods involved. Out of my 3 a levels, at this point in time, I find it the hardest. As long as you approach it as a science (not a humanities) you will be fine though :))

complaining about an A damn wish that was my problem

I totally understand how complaining about an A can sound arrogant or silly but everyone’s self standards are different and because I have chosen to apply to very competitive universities I do need to have the best grades possible. Additionally, essays are what I am good at and so I will of course have higher standards for those subjects. At GCSEs I was atrocious at chemistry and even getting a B was a huge achievement which I was proud of myself for getting. What’s considered an achievement for one person may not be for another and that’s why grades in themselves are relative.
