    It’s always amazing to me how much more focused on form and follow through when I’m practicing with a broadhead versus field point. Probably because I shoot SO much with field points that I become complacent. I’m gonna go shoot some broadhead shots today!!

    Huge fan Jason, thank you for all of the content you have put together. It is like a roadmap for aspiring hog hunters. I started trying to get a job in SC while in OH watching your videos. You ended up moving to coastal GA... I ended up moving to coastal GA. Today I have an interview with Bryan county that would provide me some stability. I hunt the base more... and more often. Muddy Black Grand Cherokee with USMC stickers spanning 2 generations, say hi if you see me, I would love to thank you personally. Your channel is more important to people than you may realize. Judging by the unmistakeable smile on his face, I think I saw Mr. Carter the other day. Rock on dude !!! Bill McStay

    You are 100% spot on about the mental factor of shooting with a broadhead! Personally for me was because when I first started hunting tuning a broadhead was a nightmare and left a bad memory about shooting broadheads since I was not confident with them . Now I have a way better shooting set up and having confidence with a broadhead is everything

      Yep the confidence is everything with broadheads.

    So this video couldn’t have been posted at a more appropriate time. This is my 1st yr trad hunting. Been an adventure since January figuring out everything that goes into this process!!!! Just received my 1st pack of 3 broadheads the other day and walked out into backyard and shot with them. Well I guess I reference my arrow tip WAY more than I thought!!!! My broadheads are about 3/4in longer then my field tip making what I’m referencing as my tip different. I was hitting 8-10in high due to broadhead. I did watch a Push Archery video where they would paint a thin white ring around arrow at the insert as the reference point that way broadheads and field tips are the same. What a difference for me though and glad I saw this now not a week before season!!!!

      Here's an idea instead of referencing the tip reference the end of the shaft that way point length doesn't matter

    • @pathfinder5804
      @pathfinder5804 2 дні тому

      @@scottlindholm5568that’s the idea of putting something light colored on end of arrow such as a dab of white paint.

      Love this. Thats what its all about and why we test and practice with our gear. You are in the same boat every single one of us were at one time. doing and learning the exact same things.

      I miss making them. But honestly giving up that time to increase my videos on my samkoworkshop channel was the best decision I ever made.

    Spot on. My general procedure is to shoot one cold shot in the morning before I leave the house. I shoot my max comfortable distance(currently 30yds with a 10" center of the target i consider the kill zone) and I do it with a broadhead. Then I take a pic of the arrow in the target before I pull it and it's on my phone to live with for the day. I'm envious of your seasons. Here in Alaska my "archery only" season Is a whopping 7 days long. Entire moose season is 30 days. At least black bear is year around

      The cold shot and live with it is a very sobering tactic...lol But sure does make you focus. In michigan my total season was 90 days and then bowfishing in the summer. Down here in ga now its 6 months of deer and year round hogs. love it down here.

    As a brand new bow hunter, but not new to hunting, how do I know when I’m good enough with the bow to hunt ethically & effectively?

    • @tradbowpodcast
      @tradbowpodcast  День тому +1

      Bowhunting Is about getting close. 20 yards and under is best. If you are proficient with your bow at 20 set up for 20 yard shots, if only proficient at 15 set up for 15 and under shots.

    Great video again I am shooting the ace super express glue on with 100gr adapter as a 300gr screw in this year. Did you have to change your nock point to accommodate for such high foc?

    • @tradbowpodcast
      @tradbowpodcast  2 дні тому +1

      Great set up. Not sure about the nock point as I have shot high foc for so long. but right now as a split finger shooter im 5/8s over center.

    I noticed with field tips to shoot with cock feather out with hunting tips I need to shoot with cock feather in don't know why for me it makes a difference. Great video

      I know people that shooting cock feather in gives better flight too. As long as it's flying right thays all that matters. But glad you are taking the time to test and find what works best
