I was in a music shop in Mesa, AZ in 2024 and two kids probably 10-14 were playing HUM songs on guitar in the store. I was blown away. Damn... They were playing Stars.
Mortal Mars they aren’t done yet! New album coming out soon! I just went to 4 of Matt Talbott’s acoustic shows. He’s amazing! He’s recording a solo album next week too.
They remind me of Failure. Which is a good thing. Just found them today after finding out they were a big influence on Deftones, whom I've listened to and loved my entire life.
@@jukujuku6153 I meant that they reminded me of Failure, because I am familiar with Failure. Not like in a "I think they were influenced by Failure" kind of way. Haha.
How. I mean, i can see resemblance between both because they’re both in drop d, but what hard rock band isn’t? Also, this is more spacey than just “trippy”. Page’s lyrics tend to not really mean much and Matt’s often mean a lot more.
One of the best hidden gem albums of alll time. They should have released Ms Lazarus and The Scientists as singles as well. These guys absolutely ROCK!!!
These guys play a form of music only certain people are privy to.. it’s super high quality, stoner metal.. this video reigns supreme.. I put it on every day just about..
Checked them out because they were on the Deftones Dia de Los bill and I'm really glad I did. They're really good. But really sad because I was into a lot of these band contemporaries growing up and somehow these guys passed me by. Got here in the end though!
You mean “along with” those guitars, right?? Or “just like the guitars” or something similar? Brian was the drummer, not a guitar player (at least not in Hum if he did play guitar)

I heard they formed hopesfall i had their ep no wings to speak complete polar opposite of hum
I will never understand how this band never became stupidly popular. They're amazing
It is because they did not want to be come popular so they did not do the extra steps for exposure. My neighbors sure knew who they were though.
They arent popular because the music isnt typical common people bs.
Mortal Mars they aren’t done yet! New album coming out soon! I just went to 4 of Matt Talbott’s acoustic shows. He’s amazing! He’s recording a solo album next week too.
yep! along with a band called: Failure :) hum & failure are epic !!!
grunge killed everything dead then ...wasn't in the scope
This is legit one of the best songs ever. They don't rock out in 7/4 like this anymore.
See King Gizz and Lizz Wizz
@@Luxuryyacht92 they're alright. I like em.
But they do though
You just haven't heard it or em
Now that you mention that, I know why I like these guys so much: Math Rock, but subtle, in a loud way (of course)

This band us criminally underrated.. inlet is great amd most importantly.
Rest easy Brian..
Time signature all over the place. RIP Bryan
Their new album is absolutely crushing!!
Hum going a bit “tool” definitely worked, but will they keep making albums? One can hope
If you haven’t listened to their song The Pod you’re missing out. It’s one of the best alternative rock songs ever.
Can somebody please upload these in a modern resolution? This band is amazing and criminally underrated.

Haha.
Oh
Listen to "Let It Drip" by Failure. Deftones are definitely influenced by Failure as well as Hum.
Most underrated band ever, change my mind.

They just released a new album after 22 years and its awesome
Thanks what's it called??

listening to Hum year 2021 - September 23! I love hUM. One of the most underrated bands in the 90's. I will make sure my kids would listen to them!
This reminds me of "in the meantime" or "unsung" by Helmet
Yeah they all do that alternative metal / Post-Hardcore stuff well
Yes, The video is very similar to one of Helmets and and the music is like a very tunefull Helmet!

Never underestimate the power of using a distortion to an expected pattern; particularly a voice.

I never knew they had videos from DIH.. sweet.. reminds me of the video for "Out of Hand" by the Mighty Lemon Drops.. it looks like a 1987 video.
what a band
