- Sometimes you go fishing and don't catch a damn thing.. Especially if your main goal is flatheaded cat dongs.. This night however, was the complete opposite. We caught fish after fish, using bullheads as bait. Which was a foreign concept to me.. BUT IT AIN'T NOW!!! PAAA POWWW!

I’ve caught a few flatheads to say I know what I’m doing. What I would recommend is hooking the bullhead behind the dorsal fin and above the spine. Another thing you can do is clip the spines, it helps increase the hook-up ratio.. anyways keep up the good work. Keep slayin em.
Ive never noticed clipping the fins to help the hookup ratio. Caught tons on bullhead, no issue with hookups and fins.
Yea I just don’t see how the trimmed fins would help that much. May have to do a tester video.

You don’t have to cut the spines. I just do it because sometimes they pick up the bullhead, hold it in their mouth, feel the spines and drop it.

Growing up on the Clinch when the Blackberrys start getting in ripe in late June early July we fished with the big creek clubs n when the cat initially takes off with the bait we opened the reel bail n let them run n when they'd stop, we'd flip the bail n when he takes back off ,, SET THAT HOOK MAN". Lost alot of fish until I learned that trick. That cat will grab that big chub or bullhead n take off then he'll stop n swallow. If you rush it you just end up pulling the bait out of his mouth because lmao" he don't have no hands. Lol. Love your channel man. Be big to me if one day you gave me a shout out. Which I doubt that'll happen seeing how many subscribers you have. No bones here bro. Keep up the awesome fishing show.

He's the fucking worst about that. I liked his videos at first, he really has a great eye and can be very cinematic, but his content is so lackluster and I COMPLETELY lost respect for him when every title is the same bullshit clickbait cookie cutter format.
I gotta buy a few bigger rod and reel combos and get out for some big flat's. I live 20min from the Mississippi and have caught some nice fish, just nothing real big and no flatheads yet. Caught a few small one's last year and you'll never beat my PB smallest flat.. I have a picture of me with one i got on a nightcrawler and it is 3.5 inches. I would have kept at least one of those to eat.. Great video and those were some nice fish..

Check out Kayak Catfish! I think you will like the gear that he uses! He doesn't weight his fish, usually just measures the length. Catches a lot in the 30 to 50 inch range. I imagine the trek back through the woods in the dark sucked but, those were some nice flatties👍

Man, what a class A trip for real! We've got some great waters around here, just absolutely no public access in the entire state unless you want to fish right next to a boat ramp and deal with that mess. If you have a boat, whole different ball game! Still catching up though...thanks for making enough to keep me behind! :P

All we use for bait is bullheads In Ne we clip all the fins first. Or cut the tail off at the rib cage and use that is good too. Fishing was good through this storm though!

Use a bridle rig and it will stop the hook from spinning back into the bait. Work killer for big live baits. We use it for stripers and giant tuna.

That was some cool Flathead fishing good video always used live bluegill or giant live goldfish I've never tried the bullheads I'll have to give that a chance but most of what we catch is 15 to 25 lb we've power fuse that we're a little over 30 pounds but not many but we have a place on the lower James River we catch monster blue cats down there almost every trip will catch several that are over 40 pounds and servo between 20 lb an 40pounds we have caught three over 50 lbs an a 71 ponder if you ever get a chance to go down there with somebody that knows the river and has a decent boat it's awesome
