There’s nothing like an indoor arena for a hockey game, and though the dimensions of the rink are standard, the venues themselves have their distinct and unique differences.
And Today we’re going to break down each one of those stadiums, and hopefully keep the amount of frightening mascots to a minimum.
Critiquing all 31 NHL arenas, secrets and hidden gems.

John Conner that took a while
John Conner Thanks man
You wasted your life
Thx
Why the arenas aren't in alphabetical order by team is beyond ridiculous!!
Lol Toronto, Alberta who else noticed?
It's because the Calgary Stampeders have owned the Argos and thus the province for decades. #CFL
Steven Gomez lmao they about to own the Argos today
just you
lol
Me
11:07 Toronto is in Ontario, not Alberta.
Oh god. That foolish boi!
they want to be though
Lol
Ya know I live in Alberta and last time I checked Toronto was a long as way away 😂😂
Spelled British Columbia wrong too
"So the Tampa fans can watch all the ex-Rangers play" lmao 😂😂😂
Tampa should really thank them for JT Miller and Ryan McDonagh. They were fucking useless.
we really do appreciate it
As a NYR fan, that was hilarious! I loved this video overall! 😜😂😂👏👏
U guys lost to the la Kings in 2012 so Tampa bay lightning will always be good

People in 2017: The blues suck
Blues fans in 2019: Say what
Yes siir proud I was raised into the blues
I think this dude just hates st louis.
In this video he didn't really even say anything about enterprise
In the MLB video he didn't even mention that the Arch was in the background
Blues suck
Blues kick ass!

hu1a121 if your talking about the Steelers, they are some doo doo this, tiring with browns 🤣🤣🤣 cmon that’s just sad
the pepsi center serves coke?
Llama most people will criticize your profile picture because of its ugliness but I liked that logo
Rayzr only intellectuals understand the beauty in this
The frozen fish stick captain logo one of the worst logos ever
Derp Man yeah so i just came back from chief and he says "that aint it" so idk
Derp Man not for us intellectuals
Missed a real opportunity for PNC Arena... The farmer who sold the land to the hurricanes so they could build their stadium had some say in the team. He originally demanded that the team be named the Carolina Ice Hogs, but ownership turned that down. Instead, they agreed to make the mascot, Stormy, an Ice Hog to commemorate the former land owner.
Also, BTW How Are They Sadly Coping With Florence Or Is That TMI Or Too Soon, At Least?
Curtis Davis Most of NC was just hit with minor to major flooding. Most of Eastern NC got fucked pretty hard especially the southern part of the coast between Wilmington and New Bern. It really is unfortunate but the Canes have been helping with disaster relief obviously
I wondered why they had a pig!
Hurricanes didn't build arena NC state did
Critique all of the NHL Mascots
yes.
flames is just a professional furry
Nathaniel Levesque ohhhh no, Rip Flyers, as a Flyers fan Gritty is slowly growing on me in a funny way
I want urinatingtree to do that so he can completely burn gritty
Gritty rules.
You completely forgot about the Costco outside Rogers Arena
There's a Costco outside Rogers Centre? No way. I lived in Ontario my whole life and whenever I'm in the area, I never see a Costco.
Oh wait I read that wrong lol
0:16 that looks like Elmo’s body guard after doing coke
American Airline CENTER! American Airline Arena is where the Miami Heat play, not the Dallas Stars/Mavericks.
It's confusing. There's the AAA then the AAC. Im sure many a broadcater slipped up.
Didn’t know Toronto was in Alberta now
Lat Angels play in Anaheim
Does the Little Cesar's Arena sell $5 Hot N' Ready's? Because they really should, and lead to the rest of the stadiums lowering concession prices.
Thank you!
They do not :-(. Concession prices are a bit high actually.
jimbo 2346 they shouldn’t even feed their pizza to the homeless, it’s the shittiest pizza ever.
Unfortunately no. The prices are high, no leg room
Bail Bondsman Little Caesers is so good cmon man
Are we not gonna talk about the fact that right beside Roger's arena, is a much bigger stadium, that hosts the much worse bc teams, the whitecaps and lions
14:05 that was a Calgary hitmen WHL game
Definitely. I went to a Giants game when I was visiting Vancouver a couple of years ago, and glass seats were supercheap. It was something like $25. I'd definitely do it again if only to have a chuckle at the Tyson Sexsmith banner that is hanging up in the concourse.
@ja maguire the Giants play at the Langley events center nowadays
@ja maguire I am blessed to be able to have a WHL team in my city (and a darn good team at that). Being able to go see an extremely entertaining game only $20 is incredible
I love that every time you talk about a mascot, the flyers mascot is mentioned😂😂😂. I love these arena critiques and I wish there were more good sports to critiques. Keep up the sports facts and bad jokes dude😂. I loved the Vancouver riot joke.😂😂😂
Thanks brother
Another fun fact about The UC (Chicago Blackhawks) is that they were the first to implement the “goal horn.” And the goal horn currently in use has been there since its inception during the 1973 playoffs. Then owner Bill Wirtz liked the sound of his yacht horn so much, he got one for under the Chicago Stadium scoreboard.
Gritty is what happens when the Phillie Phanatic is allowed to procreate.
You're more right than you know. The Phillie Phanatic designer built the Gritty costume, too.
@@iRunfastXC I had a feeling that was the case.
God I'd hate to see what the Philly Phanatic procreated with then.
Great video as always bro. Did you know that TMobile customers are able to use the stadium as a giant hotspot? Some users have reported speeds as high as 5G LTE.
ReigningRavens wow that is a FUN fact
I knew that I live in Las Vegas and I just got season tickets for new raider stadium being built
thats cool
11:00 this didn’t aged well
It ages well now. The Blues are the most overrated team in the 2021 season (other than Montreal).
I take the Montreal bit back
Idea for a video. Critiquing every teams mascot. Across the major sports, some history, a clip of a cool or funny moment.
That's a good idea.
(11:07) Toronto is not in Alberta.
But they wish they were..
I think blues fans will be using that beer garden for much different reasons 🍾
Two game 7 loss riots in Vancouver - lest we forget 94....
Hey Five Points. Toronto is in Ontario not Alberta as much as the rest of us Ontarian's would like it to be
Lol
But like...who actually wants it to be in Alberta?
Alberta is too good for the shithole that is Toronto.
Rusty Shackelford ive spent 2 decades in toronto and been in alberta for the last 10 years and can say 100% alberta is dogshit compared to ontario, literally 15 years behind in basic ass technology, just to name one example: in alberta the street lights are STILL on timers lmao hasnt been like that in the GTA since 2003-ish? actually i think the sensors and cameras were implemented earlier than that. nothing more hilarious than being the only person on the road in alberta and sitting at a red light waiting for nobody haha if youre the only one on the road in ontario-every. sinlge. light. whether its red or yellow- will turn green for you if there is no reason to stop.
did you even know toronto is one giant underground mall? (actually a lot of Torontonians dont even know about the PATH system so of course youd have no idea lol) you dont even have to step foot outside in the winter to get across the city, just walk into a nearby building, take an escalator down a floor and youre now in one of the biggest malls in the world (with street signs so you know where you are in the city)...whats alberta got thats better than that? cause all i see is if you dont have a vehicle then you freeze your ass off walking through the snow everywhere...sounds greaaaaaat 👍
Coach Hines Its hard for Alberta to do much when the pm is screwing us and we are forced to give up shit loads of money to the east! But everybody wants the money, but wants the oil sands shut down. So fuck it! Shut them down lets see what happens. Canada will turn into a shit hole!
Solid 15 seconds for the United Center where 3 of the seconds werent even about the NHL
Hey hey...the blues have a cup now haha interesting vid bro!
Blues comments haven’t aged well
The way he said eliches hurt me! I love that place!
Loved it brother!
Not true about Boston Garden!....
The Aud in Buffalo was THE last to go with non standard ice (180x80) dimensions and closed a season later (95-96) then The Garden!
Also, Nationwide Arena (Columbus) was built on the site of an old prison! Lol
11:08 Scotiabank center, Toronto, Alberta 😂. From Calgary that made me laugh. Good video though.
It wasn’t an AHL game that the saddledome hosted, it was a WHL game
Caught that as well.
10:58-11:06 That aged well! 😂
And at 15:46, jokes on you, that guy turned out to be one of our best players in the last couple of years.
Yeah, early playoff exits, with a cup, in June... better start drinking out of this big shiny cup to ease my sorrows...😂😂😂
Y’all are sleepin on Gritty. Just you wait. He’s gonna prove all you wrong!
he tried fighting the penguins mascot. earned my approval
The United Center is called the Madhouse on Madison locally.
It’s Called the UC locally nobody casually refers to it as the madhouse on Madison
Sens fan here; that roast was even better than I expected!
6:22 Fun Fact, Kroenke also owns the Colorado Avalanche, Colorado Rapids, Denver Nuggets, Los Angeles Rams, and a mall in Nashville for no particular reason
Cool fact: the reason the preds have their name is because when building the foundation for the arena, they dug up a sabretooth tiger on site.
Miro Heiskanen thanks Miro
Funny thing is the CBJs actually have an okay mascot now.
I could not stop laughing when you talked about Buffalo... it's so true... and I'm a Buffalo fan... XD
Just stumbled across your channel. Nice work! Did anyone mention to you that you sound a little like Ken Kal, the longtime radio voice of the Red Wings?
Wow that’s a compliment. Most of the feedback I get is that my voice is trash lol
Toronto, Alberta?😂
I miss the Joe Louis Arena 😔
Cold Blood Demon Bálor SAME ;( 😢😢😢😩😫
It's still there, they Wings just moved around the corner. But yeah the nostalgia can get the best of us at times. I feel you. Joe Louis Arena will always be legendary.
Cold Blood Demon Bálor I kinda do and kinda don’t
Ugh, but damn did we need a new arena. I mean look how quick it is to get a drink and take a leak now! Awesome lol
I call it the new joe lol
Yeah the Joe was falling apart. And had that "unique" smell lol But I truly believe we have the best arena in all of NHL now.
Ayyy man you’re gettin a bunch of subs. Been here since 12k. Keep it up man
Thanks bro
Nice video again, bro :) Keep going on stadiums and arenas
Thanks bro!
5:41 I can only imagine how the 1995-9 season went
Also will you be doing a video on each NASCAR track later on? (even if it's just the cup series)
I like the idea. I'd especially like to hear what he says about Charlotte. Would he do the track as one and mentioning the roval or would he have the roval separate?
Thats not a bad idea
11:02 : after a bunch of early playoff exits
*blues are in the stanley cup final* 🤭👀
And won it! :D
Big fan, love the vids but what do you use to make them?
Just wanted to say FPV, you're always good to us in Seattle, thank you.
Can’t wait for the nba version!
Gritty is 2 days old and on the tonight show. Bird gang
"Not owned by the kings". Nicely played. Hurts, but truths hurt sometimes
This is awesome been waiting since the mlb stadiums
hey here’s a critique of nashville’s arena: i can’t buy tickets unless i live in the area.... coincidentally put into place after the hawks beat them back in 2015 playoffs... even more coincidentally after we began to out sell them during the regular season
cheesus christ just use SeatGeek
Aww someone is butthurt for being outsmarted.
?
They did this in the mid 2000's when they kept drawing the Wings. That's when it began. Tampa Bay did the same thing. Pretty pathetic.
For future reference, you can buy Preds tickets at market value on any secondary market website. They restrict face value tickets(which are purposely cheaper) to the local TV market to guarantee that everyday fans have a chance to get tickets at a realistic price. It would be pointless make tickets affordable for locals if Chicago fans snatched half of them up. Hate the policy as much as you want, but Bridgestone is one of the only arenas without a corporate-filled lower bowl. It's a top-tier atmosphere for a reason. Also they sell out every game before the season starts, so its not like you'd be buying the tickets at face value regardless.
who else just skipped to the part where he talks about ur favourite teams arena
i didn't
I find it funny that you made fun of bear garden in Enterprise Center to drown our sorrows in and then we won the cup anyway
Really solid and in-depth breakdown of Xcel Energy Center /s
If a league gets a new arena or team will you re rank these arenas/fields
Its by capacity
I was trying to figure that out! I realized it wasn't alphabetical (city, arena, or team name)
WHL game, not AHL...
Which makes it even more impressive. That was at a game played by 16-20 year old amateurs, not professionals on the verge of making the NHL.
@@TheMur28 WHL is junior hockey, draft-eligible players and most the time better than the AHL. They're only amateurs in the sense that they have yet to be drafted or turn pro, even though those drafted have blown their signing bonus on a hot car.
Great video and what train station is that?
As a montreal fan, your marc bergevin roast is an agree from me xD (cmon Domi)
Do nba arenas next
the barclays center is by far the worst, along with the Nassau. You wonder why Tavares left...
leohabs 077 the new arena should be okay though
leohabs 077 at least Nassau can hold a hockey team
Rayzr barely
Nassau was amazing what are you talking about bro
It was a shithole but there wasnt a bad seat in nassau barclays is just god awful
thanks for doing the NHL
That edible part had me fucking dying haha
Sorry but the Oilers we not suffering from dwindling attendance before McDavid came. They always sold out their building and say what you want about how bad the team was in Edmonton but the Fans in Edmonton were always top notch and supported that team through thick and thin.
glenn d wait? How bad the team WAS
True Edmonton 4 life (I live there)
The blues are in the Stanley cup final right now so I wouldn’t be talking if were you
"early playoff exits"
The comments were true at the time.....
The unfortunate part about the lines about the empty threats of Bettman, is that Seattle isn’t actually the only Pacific Northwest city that could house a team, the Moda Center in Portland, OR could house them, as they do the Winterhawks, but probably can’t due to that being Chicago’s AHL team, so even though through attendance size, great ice, and good sight lines, unlike certain other made for basketball arena (Barclays) it could work, if Bettman was willing to pull some strings with Chicago, and hockey could have the second Cascadia Cup, with Seattle, Vancouver, and Portland all owning teams, like the MLS.
“Dwindling attendance before mcdavid” even though Edmonton has sold out every game since 2003. Makes sense.
why did my flyers have to make more of a joke out of themselves than they already are by making the ugliest mascot
Sicksi he suits your city. Also, and so say this unironically, he’s going to be loved after some time. It’s like how in the late 90s Syracuse toyed with changing their mascot to a wolf, but the student body loved Otto the Orange too much.
Aiden Mckenney hey you know what? he is pretty fucking dope. I went to the game against Boston during his first game and he didn’t really do much, but against the rangers he was firing up the crowd you could say. and hey... that’s how Philly is... we embrace our hatred. Think about it. Everyone hates the Eagles with a passion, we won the super bowl (still can’t believe that like holy shit) and everyone hates the Flyers. Not the Phillies and sixers so much, but definitely the Flyers and Eagles. And I agree that we’ll be good, as long as our defense can be consistent in the regular season and playoffs, and we can actually have any sort of competence in net. I know every fan says this about their team every year, but this team is special. I know it.
Sicksi Devils/Giants fan here and I can't bring myself to hate the Flyers or Eagles. Devils/Flyers games were always so much fun, especially in the mid- to late-90s when they would beat the shit out of each other all game. Plus, we get along for our mutual hatred of the Rangers. Eagles for a different reason--I was a fan of McNabb's starting with his stint in Syracuse. Plus, we get along for our mutual hatred of Dallas.
Erik Dresner I’m too young to ever have watched when the Flyers and Devils were a great rivalry, but that was a great rivalry I must say. And I can’t say that I hate the Giants either... there’s nothing to hate. And plus, I guess we’re the only teams that can say we’ve beaten the Pats in the SB. I have to admit, even as an Eagles fan, I actually kind of like the Giants. They’ve got a really talented offense (offense line could use some work, but the addition of Soldier helps) and their defense has actually played kind of well... I didn’t watch the entirety of any games (expect the one against the Cowboys), but what I’ve seen on the scoreboard, the Giants have looked good. Their 1-2 record is misleading, especially since they had a good chance to beat the Jags. I love football, but it can never beat hockey for me, even though my football team can actually contend for things unlike my Flyers.
Toronto, Alberta😂😂😂😭😭😭
Ever wwe longtime fan knew that. I.E. Hart Family.
Nice vid, keep up the good content, you should do a “triggering every college hockey team” video
Fun fact about Gritty's home is a morning radio host Preston from Preston and Steve sat in every single seat before the arena opened. He said it took like 3 days. Also they're putting in around $250 million into renovations.
I prefer the Montreal Forum
Wheres toronto alberta
Friby in space
Thanks for making me forget i like the Vikings for a few minutes, any amount of time is greatly appreciated
Tough one. The Rams are very good.
When was Edmonton's attendance ever dwindling lol
Everyone hates the Barclays center, have you seen Ottawa’s arena. Literally in the middle of nowhere, hard to find, and it’s not even that good. No wonder nobody goes to games
Bellches100 well that’s just any original 6 team
Barclays center is pure dopeness, best arena in the country, those fools got it all wrong.
Gregory Calabrese not for hockey though lol
Barclays Center is horrible for hockey. No color in the building either. Colors are primarily black and gray. Depressing. Seating also sucks in some sections, as you don't have a view of everything, unless you twist your neck.
If it in the middle of nowhere should be easy to find
I hate the new name for the leafs/raptors arena i miss the acc
Roots Adriano I know right?! “Scotia bank centre” just doesn’t sound right to me
they paid $800 million dollars to rename the arena...dont know about you but i dont want to do business with a bank that spends their money like that...lol
Me too. Air Canada Centre should've stayed. As well as Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh, and not the god awful PPG Paints Arena.
Used to watch a lot of Atlantic Coast Conference basketball. Took me a while to get used to two "ACC"s.
Roots - Personally I think it should be called "The New Maple Leaf Gardens".
Dwindling attendance in Edmonton?
Did you bump your head? lol
Hey 5 points you should make a video on all stadiums and arenas that hosted a wrestlemania
Move the Coyotes to the Moda Center in Portland
Or like Houston
i love barclays esp for hockey, most people who judge barclays for islander hockey have never been to an islanders game there at the barc. kinda just the truth , #YESYESYES we rocked the barn and the barc and soon enough (maybe ) the bell
Islanders at Barclays is the best sports thing going right now in NYC. Barclays is in a top tier neighborhood like fenway or wrigley field, its totally integrated into real neighborhood. The real reason that the masses turned on Barclays is that the rangers own every form of media that reports on the Islanders (MSG TV / NEWSDAY/ NEWS12) and to protect rangers long term business they mercilessly created a perception that barclays was a bad place for hockey, its actually a brilliant place to attend a game!
John mc c I’m an islanders fan. Nope Barc sucks. Attendance sucks. BARN FTW. Nothing will rock more than the barn.
@@@everettmcmahon4970 I'm with you on this. Barn baby. Barclays sucks ass for hockey, but it was built specifically for basketball, and they did that well, because I saw a Nets game and it was great (the venue for basketball, not the Nets obviously, shit team). I live in Brooklyn 10 mins on the train from Barclays but I'd be willing to travel out to the island to watch the Isles at the Barn rather than watch another hockey game at Barclays.
I’m so glad you mentioned Matthews it’s a real gem of a barn and the oldest still in use multi purpose sports area in the world
Was the Scotiabank Centre in Toronto listed in the province of Alberta for a slight jab at Ontario residents?
No. Mistake lol
Go Knights Go!
i went to capital one arena once
very flat
Lol
Capital one arena was built before 9/11 probably still was in the white house no fly zone though which is why it's do flat
So
Nice vid
You overlooked how many restaurants are inside Nationwide Arena...and the cannonballs in the wall!
I miss the Thrashers
First
Can you do a video about Critiquing NASCAR Speedways- Secrets and Hidden Gems. Like Daytona Speedway has Lake Lloyd and a tunnel somewhere outside of turns three and four
Could you do MLS topics next. Like logos, Stadiums and stuff like that?
What an awesome video!
At Little Caesars arena you need climbing boots and a sherpa in the upper bowl seats.
Could you do a vid on all NASCAR track venues?
THANK YOU SO MUCH!
