Hi William. There is an interesting counter shot that black can play after 6. Be3: 6... b5! with equality according to Stockfish, although the position is both tactically and strategically complex.
Yes, very interesting stuff that I am excited to get to in my Lewis Gambit full repertoire video. In particular I loveeee the line of e4 e5 Nf3 Nc6 Bc4 Bc5 o-o Nf6 d4 Bxd4 Nxd4 Nxd4 Bg5 h6 Bh4 g5 f4!! that you guys were almost alluding to.
Got all new stuff now! New webcam, new microphone, new monitor, and even a brand new desktop! Am really excited about it and hope you enjoy the pro production now :)
Yes thank you Slugworthy! So glad that this excellent community is giving each other ideas :) Full repertoire video on the Lewis Gambit coming soon from me. This will also touch on ideas such as e4 e5 Bc4 Bc5 Qg4!? as discussed here which I like! (black should avoid having this position with Nc3 and Nc6 included, else face the nasty Nd5 Qxf2+ Kd1 line)
Hey Gambitman! What do you think of the very dubious Duras Gambit? e4 f5 exf5 Kf7?! Lots of fun in bullet and has a 50/50 win ratio even though stockfish says +3.
Hahaha this did make me laugh and was amusing to check out the stats! Thanks for sharing. I don't doubt that it is lots of fun in bullet, keep it going, but please do not play it in any other time control :)
Haha perhaps! The reason why I like going Bc5 against Nc3/Bc4 on the second move is because I want to follow that up with d6 right away, so as to hold my e5 pawn against f4 advances (and take advantage of the beautiful open dark-squared diagonal). Would recommend this against all viennas etc to be honest. I also want to dodge lines such as e4 e5 Nc3 Nc6 Bc4 Bc5 Qg4!

thanks so much for pointing this out to me! This will have to go in the full Lewis Gambit repertoire breakdown when I make it :)
@@GambitMan My pleasure :)
yo mr gambit chad when are you releasing the video you promised us on the 2 nf6 alapin sicilian?
i found a vid by some guy called lethanlohn where after e5 and nd5 you play f4 and basically force black into an alekhine-like position
good question, and full repertoire vs 2. Nf6 in the alapin sicilian is forthcoming!
That was a fun game!
Thanks!
I play this line. White's not supposed to take the bishop right away as happened here.
yea i think you're supposed to castle and usually transpose into the deutz gambit in the giuoco piano game

Why are your videos such low quality now? (360p) A tad distracting.
@@bp56789 360p is the best quality it's giving me... no other better options.

@@GambitMan Look forward to it!
Thank you Slugworthy17! I Always hated facing 2.Bc5, but now I have a remedy for it!
You can play 3.Qg4 also
What are you taking about... ❓2.Bc4 or 2...Bc5❓

2:48 White could play bg5 trapping the queen
qg6?
Not trapped. Just can't avoid queen trade if white really, really wants it (after Qg6 like the other commentor said)
@@2Complex2 Yes, you are right. Trading Queens would Not bei that bad
maybe your second move was bad?
