I'm amazed by how much of this work is done by hand, and yet processed pineapple is so cheap in the west. Also amazed by the waste-The skins can be juiced and are incredibly high in bromelain, a natural anti-inflamitory and cancer-fighter.
The clothing they are wearing including the boots are supposed to be for the plant ONLY, meaning the boots are suppose to be sanitary. I see no issue with it especially since it was during primary processing, (skin was still on). The pineapples are cut into rings just after the workers pick up the pineapple and do a last trim. It passes thru a slicer JUST before canning. If u go back to it, u'd see it. I am just a viewer like u, not attached to this plant. Just letting u know

Meant wasn't sanitary!
I didn't think kicking the fruit into the machine was too sanitary. Also never caught the part where they were cut into rings.
