- Checking out another preset on the ALCHEM-E electronic drum kit. So fun to play. These are some big, beefy drums so definitely listen with some decent headphones 🎧
Raw audio straight out of the module, no added effects or editing.
Where did you get that Track from? I really Like it!! 🔥🥁🔥🥁🔥🥁👍👍👍
@@JustinTheDrummer-WDJJB There’s a great drummer (and really good dude) named Tim Baltes that has a bunch of drumless backing tracks on Band Camp. That’s what I’ve been using for all my recent videos, lots of great options! slouxrecordingco.bandcamp.com
@@inertiadrummerthat’s Awesome!!! What’s that particular Track Called?
@@JustinTheDrummer-WDJJBit’s called “French Press Up Down Left Right”. He comes up with some interesting names for his tracks, haha. Love it
Hopefully a module + cymbals pack will be available in the future.
This video showcases the real life sound of this kit and honestly it seems awesome. Im getting live mic'd vibes which is wild since its all electronic 😮
Apparently the latest firmware still misses hi-hat hits randomly (for example at around 0:48). I wonder if your kit registers stick hits happening simultaneously with hi-hat choke. Mine fails always. If it works for you, I would appreciate any configuration hints. Thank you!
Hey Alex! So we tried our best to have the trigger settings as dialed in for most players out of the box, but there’s so much adjustability with our system and everyone’s playing styles a little bit different, so it may just take a bit of tweaking in the hihat trigger settings. What I would suggest is going into the hihat trigger settings and experimenting with the detection sensitivity on the bow and the edge zones. Watch the indicators on the module that show which zone is activating as you hit the cymbal and adjust the detection sensitivity until it’s accurate as you’re playing it. Also, I assume you’ve done the hihat control calibration? If not, that is definitely the first step to a great playing hihat. If you continue to have issues even after adjusting some of those settings, definitely hit up Zildjian Customer Care. We have a team dedicated to handling ALCHEM-E related questions, so we will most definitely help and get your kit playing great for you 👍

@@inertiadrummer Yes, I am already in contact with support, so far responses are quite quick, which is not quite common nowadays, hope you guys will manage to keep it this way. The issue I am referring to is not zones selection or random mistriggering. The module consistently ignores stick strokes if they coincide with foot chick. Confirmed by MIDI output. The issue becomes very apparent when you have hi hat stroke accentuated by slightly opening, followed by a stick stroke on normally closed hats in the next beat - there is no chick sound at all, as hats movement is very small, so volume of the chick is not audible, but the stick stroke is discarded by module, so you are getting a dead note. I have already shared a video with support. Just wanted to ask if your module shows the same behavior, and if not, may be sharing settings, there are quite a few of these.
Those cymbals sound so freaking good. Please for the love of the drum gods zildjian needs to release a standalone cymbal pack. It would be nice if electronic drums could get to the point of acoustic drums where you can mix and match.
DW has the best signal pathway (wireless). Roland has the best pads. Alesis has the best drum brain. Zildjian has the best cymbals. And then you got yammah bringing up the rear with alternative pad design and alternative electric acoustic recording with the ead10.
Who told you alesis had the best module? Someone like to you 😅.
@@dewayne5533 Alesis does though. Not software and sound wise but the physical unit of the recently released flagship is the best. It's basically a big iPad.
Is that a 16" floor tom or a second 14" floor tom? How were you able to get additional toms? I haven't seen them available anywhere yet? Thanks!
Hey Matt! So that is an extra 14” floor tom, not a 16”. I actually work for Zildjian and I’m the lead on the ALCHEM-E project, so I have all of this gear for product development and testing. Not an easy gig, but it does have its perks 😁
@@inertiadrummer Oh nice! Tough job, but somebody has to do it! Well it seems like it's a great product and I'm looking to get one in the next few months and will definitely be looking to add additional toms and cymbals when available. Thanks for posting so we can get more info on the kit! And if you need a below average drummer to test some additional sized toms and cymbals let me know, I'd be happy to buy them when possible 😄
is this with the firmware shipping with kits then?
This is firmware that is not loaded on the module out of the box, but is now available on the Zildjian website to be downloaded, so you can update right away. So if you purchase a kit, you’ll need to download and install the v1.1 firmware and sound library to get up and running for the best performance 👍
@@inertiadrummer thanks.
if only alesis prime strata module works on these and if only these does not cause as much as a car, I would buy 😂.
