I am a broke guy from Oregon so I can't really afford an expensive knife... but I finally had the opportunity to purchase the Benchmade Bugout I love it and use it every single day as my EDC highly recommend!
I carry a Gerber paraframe tano pocket folder. Had it for years. While reshaping has taken away the tanto shape and use has peeled away the paint, it works shockingly well. I thought by this point I would of broken it or something. My co workers even played around and stabbed it into a tree, tip still holding strong. No sign of rust and still works and doesn't break under force or time so far. Love it and trust my life on just from my personal experience with it
I'm so poor that I used foil I found in a bin, squashed it with my bare hands into a flat piece of metal and sharpened it on a brick wall outside my local KFC store
Hey don’t laugh! I remember growing up in the 80s at the apartment complex where I lived we had our classic Street gangs (before gangstas came out). Kids used broken bottles, sharpened broom handles and before I got my camouflaged Rambo rip-off knife I carried a home made knife I made from the lid of a tin can and believe you me it could cut.
Holy Cow! You guys are all awesome! At the end of the video Ben said we would grade your EDC in the comments. The response and overall radness of how many knife guys and gals are out there carrying cool stuff is too much to individually go through and grade. If you commented and love the knife you are carrying you get an 'A.' If you got the knife from Blade HQ you get an extra 10 points you over achiever you:. As always thank you for all the support! Stay sharp. -Zac
I’m EDCing my benchmade 940 with a black deep carry clip that I sanded down to silver so just the butterfly is black, I love the videos always entertaining and love seeing your guys commentary on knifes!
My EDC (it really is what I carry at work and everywhere else) is the "Forged by War," CRKT Arcane, Valdez Design. The new building appears to be a great work space, congrats Blade HQ and keep up the good work.
Having worked there, it’s honestly the best man. I was in their shipping department last summer and to this day it’s probably been my favorite job I ever had
I actually got a chance to show Zac and Jamie mine at bladeshow atlanta. My personal favorite is my Boker Plus Strike. Tanto point with partial serrations, AUS-8 steel in black stonewash finish with coyote brown aluminum handles, put an orange and black paracord lanyard on it to give it a little flare. My all time favorite knife.
I'm a knife guy and I don't own a PM2/3. Been carrying an Endura 4 Wave and the exclusive OD/Bronze Kalashnikov. At work I usually just carry my Rat 1 however I plan on getting a Rat 2 as a little smaller, less threatening option, as I do work in retail...
TheMawsJawz TM I think that my benchmade 550 and me playing with the axis lock may, just may have had an effect when they said no more pocket knives, just box cutters :( so what did I do!!!! I got a box cutter than I can flip out and in fast just to stick it to them, well kind of at least. Honestly the box cutter is more practical at my work
I'm carrying my Spyderco UK Penknife in S110v today. Love it! Made in USA, deep-carry clip, and super legal. Helps when I go to places like NYC or anywhere that doesn't like assisted-opening or locking knives. Awesome video, first one I've seen on BladeHQ but it will not be my last!
I that exact knife for work. I've cut garden hose, small tree branches, rope ,cardboard and carpet with it and it's still going strong. Please explore other knives though. Spyderco PM2 and Shaman are incredibly good, as is Benchmade 940.
I rock the Osborne 940 in S30V as my EDC and love it. MUCH smaller then the Griptilian and thinner as well. Just overall super comfortable in the hand. Still have several different variations of the Griptilian myself however and they are great knives for the money for sure.
My first ever EDC knife was a Kershaw Shallot (Ken Onion design) that I got maybe about 10 years ago. I still haven’t found a knife that I think is better looking... I absolutely love everything about it!
I'm a knife guy and I have at least a dozen PM2s. My preferred carry/fidget toy is a PM2 in S110v. The letter opener on my desk is a Chinese PM2 knockoff. At work I carry a Dragonfly 2 in ZDP-189. When working around the house, I'll carry a Leatherman Charge or a Sidekick. On my desk sitting pretty is a satin finished Strand (Quiet Carry) and a M390 PM2 with custom titanium scales. On my workbench is a Leatherman Surge. Next BHQ purchases (not all at once): Native 5 Salt, Caribbean, Buggout, Griptilian, SR1 and a 4-Max.
Carrying Spyderco Manix 2 XL. I know this is an old video, but wth. I didn't realize you guys were in good old PG Utah. I used to live in Orem years ago. Love watching you guys!
Me too. I have a Chaparral in CF. Favorite EDC of mine, but admittedly not as cool as Melinda's. I've used mine enough that the backlock is now smooth as buttah.
Hi Sorry for only saying a month later what I'm carrying, only got my knife a few weeks ago, it's an Opinel Nº08. Nothing like your knives but I love this one. has a good stainless blade and is really sharp for a knife under $20
I carry the skeletool cx by leatherman. Light, easy to use, and has everything I need on a day to day basis. Been carrying it every day for about four years, and barely shows any wear.
I've almost exclusively carried a Chaparral for the last couple years.. the carbon fiber one. It's such a great knife. I love how deep it sits in my pocket. Only thing missing for me is the fun of a liner/axis lock where the blade flies open easily. Edit: Also big ups to D-Rocket designs!!! Darriel's amazing work is really getting around! I wish I could afford his stuff.
If it was more acceptable where I live I'd carry my home forged kukri I'm still very happy with how it turned out. But I carry a 6 inch fixed blade 1095 steel knife that I also made
BM 51 Morpho for the passed three years EDC, I work in a kitchen so being able to whip out a knife to open a box in the cooler or break something down quick with a little flick of the wrist and a balisong is amazing
Jelle van der Burght If you need a solid knife that you can beat on, do it. It is CJ Buck’s EDC. The lock takes some time to get used to. The pocket clip is tight and the aluminum can mess with your pockets. Still more than worth the money.
Today I'm carrying the Steel Will Cutjack, the Italian version with blue scales, 3 inch M390 steel. The blade rides on bearings and the steel is incredible.
Spyderco is a weird brand. It seems like some of their designs are way overpriced, and some are a steal. Just my opinion. I habe their GB2 and a tenacious.
Yeah so am I but I've never liked any of the designs from Spyderco. They all look cheap and uncomfortable to me. Any I don't like the handle scales from spydercos that I've held.
somebody mention this in a previous video but there should be a video or whoever edits the video should sit down at the table and Zac and ben should edit the video
I've been carrying my Cold Steel Recon 1 Tanto with AUS-8 steel for about 5 years. I've taken it to the Arctic circle of Alaska, Death valley, Olympic forest, and of course my EDC during my desk job. And I have zero regrets and I'm thinking of getting the new one with S35 steel in case my current one ever kicks the bucket.
Benchmade bugout cf elite that i just bought off you guys last week! I also have the orange mini bugout! Love both knives and will probley never carry another knife besides a bugout!!! Great video and thanks for the knife!!!
I just bought a Kershaw speedsafe... I know it's a cheap knife but I love it. I also have a Cold Steel Pro Lite... been having it for about two years and it has been a pretty good knife.
Chaparral is in my pocket today. Small and discreet enough to take to church. And I've really been liking the CTS-XHP steel. No sweet customization on mine though...
Glock 43, Glock 43, Glock 43, M&P Shield, Glock 43, Glock 43. Just a guess 👍. Doubt they get to carry at work. If they did I’d never buy a knife from anyone but them ever again. That would be awesome.
That is a super dumb reason not to talk guns. The reason they don't is guns and knives compete for the same "fun budget" and they want us thinking knives when were browsing.
I've been carrying a Paramilitary 2 CPM S30V Satin G10 Camo for almost 5 years now . Luv it ! In fact luv it so much I just bought the same knife but with the Black Blade . When I find something I like I stick too it .
I've never liked Spyderco due to their trademark hole. They always look odd to me probably because it's just a straight up circle. They also seem like they would be too wide in my pocket, but I'm sure there may be some that aren't. Needless to say I don't own one
At first I felt the same way, I didn't like the look. My friend introduced me to the budget spydercos aka the byrds and I fell in love with them and I bought a spyderco Byrd meadowlark 2 and it has been my Edc ever since. It is a inexpensive decent quality knife.
@Bryce Czirr I don't find the hole easy to use at all and I can't be alone. I've learned to use it OK like, but it'll never be a satisfying experience for me. I've grown to like them though. edit: Spyderco knives that is.
MONSTER Comeback, guys! Great episode to come back with after the "Wasted Guest 'Expert' Fiasco" episode. Bless you all. Knife in my pocket today is the Benchmade Bugout I got from you, but I put on titanium scales from Rockscale.
S&W are great knives for under $30 in my experience. I had a fix blade I got as a gift that I beat the shit out of while working (landscaper). Also have another that's a folder I've had for damn near 5 years, doesn't hold the sharpest of edges but sharp enough to get the job done.
Great video guys. Gave me some great ideas for my next orders from you. I carried a Spyderco Endura 4 SS for a couple years then a Kershaw Turbulence for a while. I LOVE the Kershaw Turbulence and just went to your website last week and saw was out of stock. But if ever back in I will be getting another. Latest EDC is my Kershaw Blur Blue handle w black grip inlay purchased off your website couple months ago. Really like the action, the blade, and it's just really nice looking in that blue color!! Damn, BladeHQ seems like a really cool work environment!! You guys are lucky-- I'd spend half my paycheck on knives, literally.
Vid was awhile ago but still gotta answer! A s110v lightweight manix has been my not at work carry for the last like month lol mainly because of my loose fitting shorts... well that and I f*ckin LOVE this thing! Benchmade 275 has been my other main edc when in proper attire
Nice variety there! My carry today is the Buck 110, a limited edition with copper bolsters, carbon fiber scales and drop point blade in a custom leather belt sheath with rattlesnake skin inlay
Gareth Bull old school Shamwari in Damasteel and Spyderco UKPK in the newly upgraded bd1n steel(been a constant carry since I got it). Both take very keen edges(bd1n especially) and ground thin(Shamwari is 5-8 thou thick and its a deep hollow grind) so they cut great. And both weigh under 5oz combined.
I’ve carried my carbon fiber small Sebenza 21 everyday for 3 years. You could say it’s my go to knife. The reason being is that now I can’t afford another knife, haha!
I was in your store about a week ago and purchased a few blades( how can you not ) and Melinda was absolutely amazing with helping us and I actually got to held the chapparal that was in this video. i mainly went to your store to meet ben but he doesn't work Saturdays and that's when I went:( anyways I walked in and just about yelled " what iiisss up guys!" but the place was filled with customers. you can probably ask Melinda. i am eleven and she would probably remember me. it was to the point where i was helping customers with their purchases cause i knew so much about some knives and want to meet ben so badly that i kinda stalked this acount for days on end before i went to the store. i love you guys and i really want to meet you ben,---keaton
Well unfortunately my dream knife which is a zt 0562cf is what i would carry but I can't operate 98% of frame locks because my middle finger rides up and prevents me from disengaging the lock, so because of that im carrying a 551-1 griptillian. You guys are amazing. Keep doing what your doing.

Zac.......your beard........weredigo
I carry a Cold Steel SR-1 in one pocket, in another pocket I have a Ontario Rat One!
Peter Pan looking to get the American Lawman myself. Sweet Blades!
1 ti lite
1 mini tac tanto
1 couter tac 1
Benchmade “freak” the best EDC knife for the money......
I like the quick “commercial break”. Great idea!
Been carrying a benchmade 4300 CLA for about the last 6 months, absolutely my favorite EDC
I carry my Rat 1 and Tenacious
Oh, man, I'd like to be at the opening too. I hope you make enough videos about it!
There are very many other methods that allow for one handed opening.
Chaparral is quite narrow in the pocket. And it may not look pretty, but the Spydie hole ROCKS.
Cut something with a Stretch or an Endura and you'll understand.
@Bryce Czirr I don't find the hole easy to use at all and I can't be alone. I've learned to use it OK like, but it'll never be a satisfying experience for me. I've grown to like them though.
edit: Spyderco knives that is.
Awesome video guys, I know it’s an older vid but some great knives! I’ve been carrying the HK Nitrous Blitz. Love it
MONSTER Comeback, guys! Great episode to come back with after the "Wasted Guest 'Expert' Fiasco" episode. Bless you all. Knife in my pocket today is the Benchmade Bugout I got from you, but I put on titanium scales from Rockscale.
I love knives but I can’t afford expensive ones so I carry a smith and Wesson first responder
Nacho Dog carry what you can. As long as it works for you, it doesn’t matter what you carry.
S&W are great knives for under $30 in my experience. I had a fix blade I got as a gift that I beat the shit out of while working (landscaper). Also have another that's a folder I've had for damn near 5 years, doesn't hold the sharpest of edges but sharp enough to get the job done.
Do cheap knifes plz
who knew motay was a hypebeast
I’m 11 and I Cary a spyderco Tenacious
Who cares if you are 11?
Sean Laudenslager pffft....Andre is just jealous
nice!
Ontario rat model 2 D2
You da man, man! It's one of the best budget edc knife ever.
ZAC... you look really handsome with that new look. KEEP IT. :D
Zac has shaven and he has forsaken
My Edc is a Coldsteel Mini Lawman!!! But I just ordered from you guys a Kershaw Skyline XL in stonewash/black!!! Love me a good flipper!
