If you actually want a good quality doll in that price range I recommend og or journey girls. They have wayyy better quality hair and cuter faces (in my opinion.) Be sure to take care of the hair if you want it to last and look nice bc my life as hair can be difficult to work with. I’m glad you like other dolls besides ag tho that’s really good

Dear Totally Rudy: Don't feel badly. Mattel isn't interested in furthering any other brands than its own. It is because you explored most of the 18-inch doll brands and, even though your channel was "American Girl Ideas", you compared similar sets (like campers and kitchens) and were open (as I am) to blending your "doll house" with your crafts and brands other than AG. I personally don't like AG dolls--or the Mattel philosophy of "Girls can do anything--as long as it's cheerleading, baking/cooking, dancing" or their tendency to feature dolls with light skin, blue eyes, and shades of blond hair. THIS girl (well, I WAS seven decades ago) had very dark brown hair, olive skin, and green eyes. I collect dolls that look like me, and, in the days of the early Baby Boomers, they were much easier to find than today (the Toni brand featured several sized dolls and many variations of hair and eye color with wardrobes to die for. Later, Jill and her little sister, Ginny, by Vogue dolls also featured some variations of hair color and extensive, wonderful wardrobes). Last year's GOTY was the ONLY time I bought anything AG, as I wanted the NASA pilot jumpsuit (which is also done by OG in Target) and the NASA space suit, although I had to wait until their "preferred customers" got their shot, first. (Just as an aside, I had wanted to be an astronaut, but, in my day, girls weren't even considered as candidates so, instead, I earned a degree in mechanical engineering--almost unheard of for a girl of my time--and got to work on some really interesting stuff and got to serve in the US Navy, too.) Keep up the interesting channel, whatever name you bestow upon it. Best wishes.
@Its Dxrla Kinda ironic as a fair skinned, brown eyed brunette girl the whole reason I wanted an ag doll was because all stores ever sold in the early 2000s were blonde blue eyed blonde dolls but were always too poor at the time to ACTUALLY receive one until 2012. Now they have many of them now. As for black dolls luckily our Wal-Mart kept up with the times and had a decent pretty selection besides character and Disney dolls including Tiana. In fact, the only unfair representation I've seen in stores now is the lack of Hispanic dolls besides for Dora the Explorer and Diego. It would be nice if other skin tones were sold in stores or if they do have them, stocked everywhere.

It kinda sucks. But I can understand why American Girl doesn't want to promote you anymore. American Girl is a business. They make their money by selling dolls and doll-sized goods. Your channel essentially teaches people how to make homemade, cheaper alternatives so that they don't have to go out and buy them from American Girl. You are cutting into their (already shrinking) profits. Why would they partner with/promote you? That said, you have real talent and I have always loved watching your videos. I will be making Kit's treehouse this summer, your plans will be used. I'm thinking to make the deck abit larger. I also plan to recreate the baking kitchen with just the countertop, no fridge or oven, as I have the AG version and I want to make my kitchen bigger.
