On today's autism family vlog: a busy day as we find a new food for Andy to eat at home, go to visit his dietitian to discuss his picky eating, weight and general health, take him to his respite care in Boston and then finish the day off with a Secret End of the Vlog Club trip to Skegness for some Pokemon GO!

ABOUT KEVIN CHAPMAN
Hi, I'm Kevin Chapman, a full-time UA-camr, author, podcaster, speaker and occasional teacher from Peterborough, UK. As part of my daily vlog I release new videos every day at 5pm UK time with topics including life as an autism family, conventions and geek culture, technology, education and tutorials and entrepreneurship.
When I left my full-time as a Computer Science teacher in July 2017, my partner, Anna, was trapped in our house by our son Andy, who is autistic and had refused to go to school for 18 months. Our daughters Lucy and Amy and our dog Dave hardly saw me because I was always working to try and solve all our problems! Today I'm a full-time content creator who's always at home when my kids get home from school (all our kids!) and Anna has been able to return to university. This channel is the story of my family's ongoing journey! Previously known as lollujo Vlogs.

I've never really paid interest into autism, I found your channel through your Alton Towers and Legoland video and I've honestly fallen in love with the channel. You're all so down to earth and relatable and that's what I enjoy. Quite a few family vloggers usually go on holiday a lot/ do things every day that I've never done/ can't relate to, however, this channel in some ways I can relate to, going to the shops and doing things at home. Not only is so relatable and realistic, I've learned more about autism, how to deal with things better (I get bad anxiety attacks and when I'm angry if I have an attack I'll throw things etc) this channel has already helped me so much so thank you. If I could donate as well, I would. On the other hand, I'm a student who hasn't even got a job due to coping with exams but thank you for making my evenings with these vlogs! c: xx

I understand how hard it is for the both of u as I am 10 and I have a autistic,ADHD,OCD and ODD brother he is only 8 when I discovered this channel it helped me sooooo much on how to control cody

I have found this vlog channel so helpful because my son is exactly like Andy
so glad I found this channel, I have learned so much about the topic of autism, from effects to how to work with and help people with autism. it is amazing what you do, just looking back at past videos it is easy to see him develop. it must be amazing going to bed every night knowing you have helped someone and taught them something new and valuable.

I assume Andy wouldn't eat it, but just a thought.

Hi. Got a suggestion I’ve used when trouble getting vitamins in and very desperate.... melt chocolate, crush tabs, just before chocolate sets- mix in vitamins. Use ice cube trays. Pokémon choc sounds way better that vitamin tablet!

Kev If you’re enjoying the weather now it’s going to possibly get to 35c in our part of Lincolnshire tomorrow(Friday) then cool down to the mid 20s for the weekend then back to this again nxt week.(I have ASD and the weather is 1 of my obsession.) I live in spalding and go to the spalding hospital to see the dietitian. I also live in Peterborough and always see places i know in your videos. I also go to boston hospital for check ups. And i go to school in bourne just like andy.

I love andy! I have a dad with asperger and ass i have some ass stuff too i recognize so much in andy my dad also loves chruches and he also loves organs i love how andy looks so in his element when in a church keep making these fun vlogs👍

You said that Andy loses weight during the winter months. Is that because he doesn't eat as much food during those months. Also is it because his eating habits change which causes him to eat a small select type of foods?
It’s usually because he gets poorly, and doesn’t eat when he’s poorly, which then makes him more poorly and it becomes a cycle as soon as he picks up the first bug of the winter

It's a bit like a big house , when a few kids with disabilities go for a few nights( they have lots of fun) to gain independence , but also it gives the main carers a rest because it's exhausting being with a child that needs extra care

sylvie webb this has been explained in lots of videos. Andy goes to respite so he gets time away from Anna and KeV and spend the weekend having fun in a room with a trampoline in the floor. KeV and Anna get chance to spend time together and do things as a family that Andy wouldn't enjoy doing

not meant rudely but is Anna ever off her phone - it is not a good role model for Andy and will surely increase his technology dependence which surely is not ideal...
Anna is on her phone about as much as any Pokemon Go player. Kev has said he doesnt mind Andy being on technology.
I’m autistic my parents are literally never on there phones but I 100% rely on my I phone I have to have it with me all the time it’s always in my pocket or my hand my parents say it’s normal for autistic people to be attached to technology so I don’t think it’s out the ordinary
