Many of Barış Manço's songs have been translated into various languages including English, French, Greek, Italian, Bulgarian, Romanian, Persian, Hebrew, Urdu, Arabic, German, even Japanese.... the song in your video "Dönence" debuted in 1981..and the video playing was from the television performance in 1982 in Istanbul.....he was a musical genius having produced over 200 songs. And even today over 20 years following his death he is the most loved, admired, and respected artist in Turkish history. There was only one Barış and there will be no other.....
His name "Barış" means "peace". He was born in 1943 while ww2, they parents named Barış cause of longing for peace. Still he is one of the biggest Turkish artist.
We turks love when people praise our things :( .I recommend 'Kara sevda' from Barış Manço.I dont know it has keyboard thing you mentioned but it has good guitar parts i think.

The keyboardist isn't the one with the jewelry in his hands, it is the singer, Baris Manco himself if you look closer, you will notice. There is another keyboard player there but Baris Manco is also a good player. He pretends to be playing in the scene. He was a perfect singer and music writer. One of a kind. So sad to loose him. :( Rest in Peace, Baris - Peace Manco.
Listen to Barış Manço, dönence, dere boyu kavaklar and trip fairground. 3 magical songs. And the group 3hürel (this guys are brothers) with their song sevenler ağlarmış. Enjoy it 💪
If you liked dönence I think you would also like "yaz dostum" from him which is also progrssive rock but with influence of turkish folk music (which is a characteristic of what we call anatolian rock). Also check "Cem Karaca" and "Erkin Koray" these two are the pioneers of that genre. You could also check youtube channel called "Anatolian Rock Revival Project" which has been documenting songs in this genre from mid 60's to early 80's. And this channel also has english subtitles for lyrics.
Barış Manço(pronounced Mancho) was unique in his style and music. His lyrics were so special like an old time bard for Anatolian peopleand that's why his music lives on. He was a great documentarist and TV producer as well. You can check Hal Hal live version in Dutch TV and here is the link : ua-cam.com/video/4spMV1NxqF8/v-deo.html
You can listen the progressive rock from UC (3) HURELS called SEVENLER AGLARMIS ua-cam.com/video/kvkzRJzeHBY/v-deo.html I think that song is your cup of tea.

The first time Barış Manço made music was better. He later switched to pop music. He made television shows. Songs that sound good for Turks and bad for foreigners. The important aspect of Barış Manço is that he translated (covered) old Turkish folk songs according to the musical genre of his own history. Nowadays, this style music is making a group called "Altın Gün" I definitely recommend you take a look. Sorry for bad english.
