- Growing succulents in NY both indoors and outdoors. Today I'm unboxing some succulents I have purchased a little after Father's Day. Vlogs are bit behind but had to show everyone this new batch of succulents I purchased. It's so very beautiful. ☺️

I'm sorry sme didn't make it and since this happened I would like to make a suggestion.
Do you have the time to move the Echverias if direct morning sunlight coz I did the same by keeping it in less brightly lit areas /grow lights and they did not do well in the long run and If there's a heat wave use a shade cloth outside no need to focus on the aesthetics of the setup for now but the aim should be for them to get morning sunlight as needed.
Secondly,Echverias need air circulation so that requirement will be taken care of as well.(I still remember you keeping just crack open)nonetheless, if you choose to keep them in direct morning sunshine harden them off.
Changing the soil to a less gritty mix so that the fibrous roots easily grow will do wonders.
I believe in buying a soil like miracle grow and adding amendments like bark, perlite and pumice and a little bit of bone meal (slow release) sprinkled on the top of the mix better root development. Phosphorus helps that root development and flowering.

Thank you much for all your suggestions. I was secretly hoping they will do okay inside but we all know that’s not the case. 😒 It’s really wishful thinking. 😂 I am planning on bringing them outside for the fall. But first, I have to make space! I have almost 300 succulents and I’ve ran out of space outside too. The sun has already shifted and we’ve been getting cooler weather so I’m very excited about the move.
This is absolutely great with the warm weather, pleasant welcoming your succulents for them to bask in some morning sunlight.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and if you are hardening them do it in increments of half an hour .
Meaning , for the first day one hour direct morning sun ... Move it to shade and then next day increase the exposure by half an hour daily for a week.

@@daym8 Oh absolutely not! I watch succulent channels every chance I get and am always craving succulent care advice. This is one of the biggest reason I started a UA-cam channel. To get advice, share tips and to leave a record of my succulents. 😝 I welcome succulent talk anytime. If it’s up to me, I would sit and talk about succulents all day. 😂
