I can't thank you enough for this guide. I was a total noob when it comes to PVP. And I also promote you whenever I see a new PVP player now who is trying to learn.

Amazing Guide, thanks a lot for this. I never got to play Shaman prior to cataclysm (I actually main it on retail) and recently a buddy of mines and I started playing on Warmane (Icecrown) . I have to say it's so fun, however, I desperately needed some guidance on how to improve my pvp prowess, specifically with ELE. Being new to server I am still gearing up, but it's good to have a strong foundation for when I finally get the gear I want. PS. Shaman is my favorite class in WoW :D
I'd like to add a few things: First: As for trinkets you have a good selection to choose from(CTS, DFO, Phylactery, Key, Althor's Abacus, Bauble of True Blood, Sindragosa's Flawless Fang). Second: If you want to go to the absolute peak of what you can do, get Val'anyr (with spell power enchant) and Scepter of Terenas (with black magic enchant) and switch when you heal. Third: Learn Engineering. Ele shamans have low mobility and no hard CC aside from Hex and Engineering helps with that. Also after engineering, the next best profession is tailoring, because of nets. Again shaman CC is trash and you need every bit of it you can get through other means. Fourth: IMO Tauren are the best Ele shamans when it comes to duels because of their stun. Edit: Against frost mages use FROST resistance totem.

Always vs dk make on focus gargoyle and Windshear his cast! Also vs hunt it wont work like this cus good gunt will master's call twice and will be immune to your root, better hard burst and out heal his dmg with cleansing totem for his serpet sting.
Thanks to you bro I found my favorite class, but I still cant get over people who go shadow priests and spam mana burn until you are out of mana, I don't know what to do against that
It is probably Discipline priest that spams mana burn because it has talent to reduce its cast time by 1sec 🤣 Shadow priest simply kills you, no need to cast mana burns 😅
Lol that ret duel, surprised he wasn't using auto-cleanse bot/script for flame shocks, cuz every warmane paladin has been doing that now for the past year.
Hello mate . what do you think of this items to buy with coins from store ( warmane - frostmourne ) for an ele shammy ! im trying to make it work because i don't got 5k+ gs and i just started on the server and returned to wow after 10 years ! those are the items : Wisdom's Hold - Shield , Flare of the Heavens - trinket , Aesuga, Hand of the Ardent Champion - weapon ( mace) You think it is worth it ? Cheers
I dont know prices on Frostmorune, but i guess its 20+ coins per item because its still progressive server, so my opinion is it is not worth to waste money on that. Go to Icecrown and donate BiS items for same money 😁 But okey if you have money, these are okay items 🖐
Hey Nibbai thanks for this guide. I will be doing BGs mostly and Arena with some PVE. For profs I thought about going tailing for the huge spell power proc and either enchanting ( ring enchants)since it works well with tailoring or JC since JC would offer slightly more stats than Enchanting. What do you think? (I do not plan on going Engi) Thanks!
Eh... I would have to disagree with the creator of this video. His gear is very survival focused yea, and while I am interested to try this out and see how it feels now- back when I played ele shaman I went full pve gear and y'all would be very surprised how viable it is in pvp
@@shamantank Yes, you can beat paladin that way. There is no class that will lose against full PvE shaman...thats the reason why PVP gear exists..Someone can benefit from pve items more thats the case for Ele shaman, but for dueling hell no...every skilled and BiS geared pvp class will beat you
5 talent points for 1 sec less cd in shock spells is a waste, I prefer 2% more crit and 200 more spellpower instead. The shaman burst scales very well with spellpower, and if you hit other players with bigger crits they can became nervous and make more mistakes, or start playing defensively which gives us a huge tactical advantage (nothing is more dangerous than a shaman without pressure). Remember we have guaranteed crit with our main hard hitting spell, and it can be casted instantly so the harder we can burst at the start, the better. Generally speaking our damage suffers a lot in longer fights or if we are forced to play defensively or kite a lot. We are better as stationary doomtowers, our core totem mechanic is all about this. So I don't think that talent compensates, even for pvp (you will still have a 3 sec cd, 5 in windshear). Better to put them somewhere else.
very good guide, a question that is not from this video is about the video of dk profano that you uploaded encerio would thank you if you could tell me the talents please, successes psdt: glyfos please :c
Hi Nibbai, first thing is that I want to thank You for your work :D as i dont play pvp to much now im only doing BG with my shammy :D im new to pvp but still manage to top dpw charts thanks to Yours guides :P i have one question about gear, now im farming Honor Points (and some arena points too) for Furious set (got 3 pieces already) but i wonder what is better: "Stiffened Corpse Shoulderpads" vs "Furious Gladiator's Mail Spaulders ", "Leggings of Dubious Charms" vs "Furious Gladiator's Mail Leggings". Should I replace them with Furious parts or wait till get AP and rating for Relentless set items?
Thanks! Hey bro these 2 PvE parts are for healers since they have Spirit and MP5 stats(if i remember, im not on pc) which Elemntal shaman doesnt really need.(you need haste instead of these 2). However its not wrong to wear it on BGs if you dont have other pieces, it will boost your mana regen. If you enjoy in just bursting without having 1v1 situations on BGS use these 2 PvE items. If you want to have more survivability and be able to 1v1 go with full furious main set. Elemental shamans are insane if played with just PvE items (check my elemental shaman BG videos on channel) on BGS but you need proper set instead of healers set.

@@excuserforepawn570 If u want just to play bgs , all three are good but Hunt takes #1 place, not much far from him Ele shaman. Esiest from all 3 is Shadow priest. i have some question about this why you dont show how to fight vs balanced dudu in moonking form when he come put one starfall and i am down with my shamn no totems no healing nothing i cant do vs this magic ? what to do any addviced
If you are PvP focused especially I would recommend Engineering for one of them because of the speed boost, the haste buff for burst, and bombs for extra CC. However, that is IF you can find the keybindings... Shaman have a ton of things that need to be bound as is and I sure don't have extra space for it. Other than that, I would recommend something like JC>BS since you can fill those sockets with whatever you want (extra SP, resil, etc.)
Troll has nice racial, but with bloodlust it becomes useless to have that much haste since you must wait global cd 0.5 sec. Also drenei is nice for 1v1 if you have a lot of resilience that recial heal is good. Tauren has stun. So overal i would say trolls
@@NibbaiWotlk , for Horde I'd say Tauren for the stun (and a teeny bit more health, they are the most defensive), but don't count out the stun reduction from Orcs even with the talent that reduces damage taken; they also have a decent burst CD that is second only to Trolls, so they are the best all around imo. Orcs are also really great if you want to mess with Enhancement as well (best race for Enhance PvE). Trolls win hands down for offensive capability, and are the best for Ele/Resto PvE. So the question is really what content do you want to focus on (PvE, PvP, or both?), and do you want to also play Enhance or not?
Rocketboots and grenades? I wouldn't really call using gimmicks like that teaching you how to play a class. Like in the DK duel, you used a frag grenade when he got close which stopped him attacking, then you survived a little bit later on after dropping down to about 2k hp. That frag grenade denying his auto+strike is what saved you from losing the duel rather than effective shaman play. You should also have a focus macro for gargyole so you can focus shear it the entire time. Honestly, you could have made duels go a lot smoother by effecient play of the class rather than relying on get-out-of-jail-free cards like grenades and rocket boots every time you get in trouble. It doesn't teach you how to play a class properly. Still, a decent guide for beginners looking to get into a class, but I would still take some of your examples (both here and a few of your other guides) with a pinch of salt.
Yes you are absolutely right. I have little play time with Shaman and i have a hard time dueling, especially dks, so bro i agree with you. No one said DO EXACTLY what i showed in video. Just some begginer tips for players that just started playing class and i hope i helped someone. Its maybe nothing for you, me or someone who has 2k rating. But what i've seen across the world pvp, said me that my content will help someone. Have a nice day
@@NibbaiWotlk No worries. As said, I still think it's a good guide in general for beginners and I'm sure it definitely helped many people out, as clearly demonstrated by your comment section it seems. Wasn't trying to sound like I was slating you at all, it's just what I could notice. Good luck with any future guides and have a nice day also :) Also @Doom, the point wasn't about the "honour" of what can and can't be used in a duel, it was about learning. Notice how I didn't say anything about his Bloodlust if we were pertaining to honour. You will learn more about a class when you only use the class itself. Engineering isn't a class specific thing, it's a multiclass gimmick that will limit your learning. You will learn infinitely more from a loss than a victory because losses make you reflect on what went wrong and what could have been done differently. Victories just make you shrug and walk off with no reflection. So if you start winning some duels by a margin because you pressed a button to move really quick or to CC your opponent (boots+bombs), does that mean you're good at the class you're playing? No, of course it doesn't. I have an issue with these items because it encourages you to get into bad habits early rather than avoiding them in the first place and actually getting better at the class itself.
i have the feeling that in the balance druid video u made the numbers aoe and single target were much higher. funny thing is in the end u face a balance druid and die on starfall :)
Well if you pick ally you don't have a choice. For PvP horde, you have the most defensive being Tauren (stun that is great for melee/bit of extra health), Troll for most offensive potential, and Orc for a decent compromise of the two (stun duration reduced/dmg racial 2nd only to Troll/good if you also wanna mess with Enhance).
Enhancement does really good single target burst damage... you have your CDs up and blow people up. If you don't have CDs up though it can be rough, and they are also REALLY easy to kite and don't have the best survivability. In a BG you really have to know when to go in and when to back off... if you get caught out it can go south very quickly. However, I've found they are really good as a "bruiser" in BGs that can swat down something that wants to open up on your healer (like a Rogue)... you can put a lot of pressure out very quickly and force them to run away if not kill them outright. So typically I'll hang back a second, maybe throw out a heal and purge things, inevitably someone tries to open on healer or squishy in the back, and once that is dealt with usually the fight has opened up to the point where you can come in and get some targets down once they are purged of buffs and trying to kill something else. They are also interesting in that you can and should kite melee a bit in between big hits of damage and when you don't have CDs... this gives you time to heal and try to outlast them. If you just go in melee and stay in melee, they usually will win unless your big damage CDs are up. Ele really has to work to get range (using a lot of different tools Frost Shock, Earthbind, Hex, Thunderstorm, Ghost Wolf), but when you are able to cast the damage is good, so positioning is important. Great burst potential and Chain Lightning works wonders against more than one target. If they let you cast freely, you are chunking people's health and it is sooo satisfying. Kind of the opposite of Enhance, where you struggle against things that want to close the distance on you (if you mess up you can die pretty quick). However, they are surprisingly good at offhealing in BGs (provided you don't run yourself oom) and like every Shaman spec you have a lot of tools to help out other people. You always have to think about your support and utility to be successful in a group. You also really have to learn how to fake cast or you can get shut down (an addon like interrupt bar is highly recommended). This is especially true if you get interrupted with Lightning Bolt/Chain Lightning, as now you can't heal or Hex. If they ever kick Lava Burst, spam heals cause it's free real estate. Both specs don't have amazing survivability; they can be caught out easily or just sat on and taken out... you don't want to present yourself as a target. Typically, if I get the enemy to start attacking someone else I have the tools to help save the other person/kill them. What they lack in in defense they more than make up with offensive pressure and burst. If you don't get the drop on someone, you have to use EVERY tool in your bag of tricks to survive long enough to turn the tables... you have to be crafty with survival, no big CDs like Dispersion/Ice Block/Divine Shield to rely on. With either spec you are constantly shifting between the different things you can do: damage, healing, CC, screwing up the enemy's CC, kiting, and purging buffs. You do just about everything possible as either spec, so knowing what to do and when can make a huge difference in how well you do. If you just go in and run a damage rotation on either spec without a game plan and understanding your abilities you WILL get owned (PvP plays very differently than PvE, maybe more than any other class). Both are support/utility above all else, even with the great damage they put out. You have to learn each matchup and you will use different strategies (so you have to learn matchups like you would in a fighting game). Neither one is a faceroll spec and you have to think about what you are doing at all times. It is REALLY satisfying when you get it right though, and is 100% worth your time on either one, so don't get discouraged. They are long term investments, as you can play them for YEARS and still learn something new. With both specs it is really rare to find a good player, so you will stand out. If you get good, share tips with the rest of us scrubs haha.
Depends which kind of PvP. In duels hmmm not so, in arenas can be in some comps and in BGs absolutely. But if you main ANY class you will be threat to 80% of classes

there is one thing in your pvp battles - you don't take damage :ddd I get killed in 3-4 shots if I let them like that - wtf?
and you're also using engineering tricks - that's not fair
which race is the best for shaman pvp bgs ?
Niceee! Please warrior now.

Its duel.U can do whatever u want bud.
Good luck with any future guides and have a nice day also :)
Also @Doom, the point wasn't about the "honour" of what can and can't be used in a duel, it was about learning. I have an issue with these items because it encourages you to get into bad habits early rather than avoiding them in the first place and actually getting better at the class itself.
i have the feeling that in the balance druid video u made the numbers aoe and single target were much higher. funny thing is in the end u face a balance druid and die on starfall :)
damn your good

As elemental main. Why u wanna play elemental shaman with any other race than troll... Best for elementals..
Warrior and pala protection pvp
how drop fun set???
Henacement or elemental ?
I would say enha is stronger for 1v1
Is Ele op in 3.3.5 PvP?
Depends which kind of PvP. In duels hmmm not so, in arenas can be in some comps and in BGs absolutely. But if you main ANY class you will be threat to 80% of classes
actually kind cringe you dont use flame shock before lava burst in 90% of these clips. especially when this is suppose to be a "guide"
What is cringe there idiot?
Jesus how long have u been playing on warmane to have literally every class with 5.5k ga 😂😂
