Long ago I was married to an Irish woman, while she was born in Alabama she retained extremely strong Irish roots and relations. Eerily, this post seems amazingly accurate, the only difference from this and my experience is I did not stay this understanding. To this day I still love this woman and have no ill regards but being a young California boy then and now (old), playing the same game eventually always lost my interest. (Side note, our daughter became and stayed a perfect blend of the both of us.)

I've never had bread and butter and potato chip sandwiches, but when I was a kid, bread and butter and tomato sauce sangers were a quick snack. You really have to slather the butter on the bread and then mix it up with the tomato sauce, otherwise the sauce just runs out between the slices of bread and, usually, will dribble straight down the front of your shirt.
