Sean Shibe - Benjamin Britten, Nocturnal after John Dowland; Wigmore Hall

Born in Edinburgh in 1992 of English and Japanese heritage, Sean Shibe studied at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, and currently with the inspirational Paolo Pegoraro in Italy. In 2012 he became the first guitarist selected for the BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artists scheme, and the only solo guitarist to be awarded a Borletti-Buitoni Trust Fellowship. He was selected by Young Classical Artists Trust in 2015.

Absolutely stunning. The great modernist masterpiece of the guitar, played as well as you’re ever likely to hear it. There are some brilliant young guitarists around today but Sean Shibe is in a class of one.

Une sonorité somptueuse dans une des pièces majeure pour la guitare écrite au 20e siècle - commande de M. Julian Bream. L'interprétation de Sean Shibe est superbe, tant sur le plan technique que musical. Une restitution remarquable sur le plan dynamique. A quand un enregistrement sur cd?
