You want to know why this theme was not in mgs4? Because when Kojima visited Russia to promote mgs3, he was asked if they had permission of russian classic composers Georgy Sviridov relatives to use his Winter Road composition, or was it a plagiat? I can handle a ps4 remaster/recreation of MGS1 with shadow Moses being much bigger/complex with elements from MGSV. But they need to keep the music and original voice actors or it’s going to end up like the twin snakes. This is good though✌️
Too bad they weren't and won't be able to use this theme anymore due to legal problems with russian composer Georgy Sviridov. It's simply a masterpiece and it perfectly describes the tone of the series.

You made a mistake in your description! The music was originally composed by Japanese composer Tappy! It was then remixed by Greyson Williams for MGS2!
I thought they had to remix it due to copyright issues with a russian composer as it was too similar to his song. Theres a documentary about it on youtube somewhere.
David Deans I believe that whole thing came out between MGS3 and Portable Ops' release dates. They stopped using that melody in games from then onwards (though I think PO originally used it, but it was changed in the final game).

They'd make it a fucking pachinko machine game, never put it on consoles, charge extortionate amounts to play and only have them in Japanese arcades. Konami is an empty husk without Kojima as far as MG is concerned.
Only hope is for someone to buy Konami out, hire Kojima and let him take full control over his baby again.
