I played with a full body protection and I took the arm protection off because I always felt my arms were restricted in movement. Now I play with the chest protection. Yes it hurts getting hit on the arms but it's worth it to have better motion
Personally anything other than obo is horrendous, especially kickers and leg guards, I found I have greater control and protection as well as maneuverability especially when single stacking it allows you to glide rather than stick to the surface, at my club we have all different kits and the keepers using obo show better skills as its more compliant than makes like to and mercian leg guards and kickers mainly
I agree, but groing guards dont really change, neither does neck guards tbh, i actually use a full baseball helmet as a helmet and it works just as fine but offers more inner chin padding.
Jed Mclelland Drum Covers it's now mandatory across all levels as a direct hit to the neck is a incredibly bad injury and neck guards weren't often worn as they were deemed uncomfortable and pointless. I recommend the obo robo neck guard if you don't have one as it's the most comfortable without going for a dangler guard
GoalieGussy no it's not, I'm Dutch, played in the top division there. Play in the Spanish top division now, no FIH rule states the neck guard is mandatory
ok was just wondering as im a junior keeper and my dad was wondering whether to get me a goalie stick for xmas or to stick to an outfield one, just wondering opinions
Emma Chester its very much a personal preferance thing. I tend to spend a lot of time on the floor and ive got a bad habit for agressivly swiping at the ball so i break sticks a lot.... find a friend with a goalie stick and ask to borrow it for a match.
Idk but at my club they said at refereecourse that a neckguard is mandatory. You can get hit in your neck and without guard you get unconcious or something
why tf use an indoor stick i broke that shit every year when i played inside and those were only pushes if someone hits a good shot it can easily break that stick, not smart, just use an outdoor stick
TK is good OBO too i am a goalie in JC1 i have OBO O never tried TK but protection is pretty good i think, i see A LOT of goalies at high level having TK so i think its not that bad

+LukeJonesKID OBO is the best.
+Simon Josling ya I use a ice hockey helmet and it's fine
It says something about their level of skill. Sliding is a skill. If you get stuck, you're doing something wrong.
LukeJonesKID in Holland wr have a expression about that: 'bad technique'
obo is best
soo tue
Yes true
I wish I had a full obo kit all I need is a new padded pants ballbox and shingaurds I have TK ones
Am I the only keeper who doesn't wear a neck guard. I think it lessens the movement of my neck with mu helmet on
Jed Mclelland Drum Covers it's now a compulsory piece of equipment
GoalieGussy is that in America I play in Ireland and as far as I know there is no rule on that

yeah i don't wear mine because of uncomfort but there nu rule in my country about that

Can you maybe please send me a OBO Hokey goalkeeper kit
Thanks I am a feild hockey player and the tips are very useful
Or you could use and outfield stick as I now use. I can get a nice rebound and can clear the ball with it better if I make a diving save
do you think they are better?
I use a junior wooden stick, light, cheap, does the trick and i break 2-3 sticks per season so i dont wanna bust the budget.

Since when is a neck guard mandatory?
Idk but at my club they said at refereecourse that a neckguard is mandatory. You can get hit in your neck and without guard you get unconcious or something
Fleur Arents officially only a helmet is mandatory.... What club do you play at?
It's not mandatory at all, americans have no clue about field hockey.
last yesterday I played without it and I wasnt called or anything
So you don’t die lmao
Shinguards underneath your pads 😂😂😂 my god

Tk is awfull much prefer obo and recomend it

It's longstreth not longstress.
Very usefull
Wearing shinguards as goalkeepers... yeah right...
Banana
Emma Chester I find outfield sticks are better. I get all my gear through sponsors
Yeah right, as if you are good enough to be sponsored.
In my opinion tk is terrible
Bart Kuijpers there's a big group of top level goalkeepers who highly disagree..
Yeah I tried TK and it was terrible

blije_kip TK is more elite focused. Most of the Hoofdklasse and international GK's use Tk or Brabo
thumbnail lol
you have a stick not good fast
Gryphon the best
