I remember going on a drug rehabilitation retreat in high school to the Everglades and couldn’t believe the wildlife there. I’m from Illinois and the most we see is skunks, deer, and turtles, but seeing alligators while kayaking really had me in awe. Thanks to that retreat and 6 years later I’ve been opiate free since.
I'm from Louisiana and there's some amazing wetlands here, but I would like to make it down to the Everglades to see something similar but different. I just love the wetlands.
Opposite of protected in most areas unfortunately. Louisiana lost marsh the size of Rhode Island in the past 50 years. Have a look on Google Maps at the satellite pictures of the Golden Meadow, La. area and you'll see the canals the oil companies constructed over the years destroyed most of the marsh that was once solid. Florida is protecting their wetlands, but here in Louisiana its all talk and no action unfortunately.
+TB Wild Images We're in desperate need of action like the Everglades had in the 1970s or Louisiana will lose most of the salt marsh within 30 years due to manmade coastal erosion. It's a serious situation here in Louisiana and the crooked politicians could care less about saving the marsh. America's biggest environmental disaster goes largely unnoticed.
+Outbound Shane That is sad and surprising. I know that the water, and the outdoors in general, plays a significant role in the Louisiana culture. Hopefully the situation can be rectified in the near future. Here in Florida, wetlands are fairly well regulated. Some counties are more strict than others. In the Tampa Bay area, where I live, conserving wetland areas is a top priority :)
@@darkfeather6857 I visited and I've seen an alligator, dolphins, deer, hogs, and manatees. Soon I'll hopefully catch a panther or a crocodile, & maybe a shark too.
The whole experience of Everglades National park ,it’s marshes, mangroves and spooning alligators and other wildlife is not only thrilling but absolutely mysterious and exciting. Feels like some movie.. I was super happy to visit there.
I went to the Everglades for a class class trip in fourth grade. The best field trip I ever had, riding around looking at the wildlife, eating s’mores around the fire. We all ended the day chilling in our huts talking playing Gameboy, and listening to our CD players.
I went swimming with manatees. One wouldn't leave me alone until I'd literally ride on its back and it took me to the main spring at the blue springs state park. They are so playful and smart. It was amazing
@beethanyy You better say not encroching what is their's in the first place and there is nothing to preserve or save if Humans don't set their foot there at first😂😂
As a Miami native, its important to mention the special forces mosquitoes that don't back down with DEET or verbal threats...those are the true warriors of the swamps.
Amazing footage, love how much there is in the everglades. It is sad to know that the Gladesmen culture is disappearing and is what really built and mantained life out there!
This the type of stuff u see in Florida daily my mom was driving and an alligator just walked out but the alligator was walking faster than the pedestrians 🤦🏽♀️😂
Actually I put it into the film (I'm the director of this documentary), but this teaser wasn't edited by me, so apparently they seem to forget it or was not part of the concept.
And don’t worry. Pythons haven’t spread too far North yet and the alligators may be preventing them from doing such via predation and competition. Pythons are a tropical species after all.
I'll admire it from a distance I'm so glad I found out about the Everglades but all those big ass animals and I don't and won't mix..I'm good on never visiting
Everglades is the greatest national park in the USA I only saw 1 gator there but was fantastic when I live in Idaho there's not any same wildlife here that's in the Everglades I'd suggest it to anyone💪🏻✌🏻️👌🏻😏
There are a lot of great parks in the U.S. Comparing the wildlife in the Everglades to anywhere else is kind of silly though. No one has wildlife like the Everglades. It's a unique place and that's why it's so depressing it's endangered. But I wouldn't put down Idaho. Idaho also encompasses part of Yellowstone, which also has an insane amount of wildlife. I saw bison, wolves, proghorn, and bison within 1 hour there! They're very different, but both great.
There is a special part that we can't access without permission. One area is likely the crystal lake in the park where we can see, but currently cannot go to
A plane went down in the Everglades in the 90's. I remember thinking that some remains would be eaten by alligators or crocs. A couple of days later it was mentioned on the news that some remains would never be recovered.
The dolphins, osprey, manatees are most likely found in the Florida Keys and Florida Bay, most of which is in the national park boundaries, but is saltwater, unlike the mainland part of the park. Key deer are really only in the lower Keys, not in the park.
Lemon sharks and dolphins in the Everglades? I have lived in Florida all my life and have been through the Everglades. This is news to me especially a lemon shark!
Ya some sharks can live in freshwater 2 bullsharks most notable but theres also various river sharks species then there are the sharks that give birth 2 there young in freshwater because off less predator to eat them compared to the ocean the sharks will stay in freshwater for a couple of years while they mature slowly moving closer 2 the ocean were the water is more salty causes there gills 2 slowly accept salt water kind of like if u got 2 higher elevations u get kinda sick cause ur not used 2 it

Kayaking in alligator infested water? Is it safe?
@@labibwajdi3169 Well yeah unless you want to go up to the alligator and kiss it ha ha.
I love your story. You are a strong person!
@@labibwajdi3169 I wouldn't do it. A kayak can easily be flipped over.
Good for you. Try and head back there some time.
Luckily we have national parks and reserves and people who actually care about nature and share the information.

National parks are cool, but the national forests, BLM lands , and state lands are much more vast and underappreciated

There is no other place on earth like the Everglades. It is truly a unique wild habitat. Incredible amount and diversity of wildlife. Magical.

those little lemon sharks are so cute!

This warms my heart because it's a beutiful national park where these animals thrive in
The scenery in the Everglades is beautiful.
I visited the everglades in Florida and out of those animals I only saw the alligators, but it was still very amazing :)
I've lived in Florida for 41 years and out of those animals I've only seen alligators, too, and twice I saw a manatee.
You can see Manatees and crocodiles in the Flamingo Marina area of the Glades!

now one of my favorite ecosystems!
And just a short drive further south and you're in the Florida Keys !!!! ANOTHER absolutely incredible area.
How can one place have such an amazing range of animals?!? 😍😍
Katie Mould that used to be the case in many places. At least before humans build their cities, plantages and villages there.
Jboy J Very true
i live in florida and so does Everglades!!! I've never been there tho. But my parents think of going next year!!!!! I wish I had a national park
its good to know that the government reserves some areas to preserve the nature and wildlife :-)
America has so little actually protected nature when compared to how large the actual country is.
@C caymer exactly. Cmon guys dont be so pessimistic smh.. Actually why not just try to contribute in preserving nature if you truly love it?

The thumbnail is amazing I went in my pool and stayed under water for 30 mins imagining alligators swimming so sick !
Was next to parkland and saw a huge bald eagle fly over my head coming from the Everglades. They are there too

What about the American croc, still great to know someone else is helping to make a difference in the way we look at animals
You gotta love animals.
The thumbnail is absolutely beautiful
this is soooooo fucking beautiful
Forgot the pythons
Sylla Atlas the Burmese python is not native to the everglades
It’s an invasive species that is currently destroying the environment
Actually I put it into the film (I'm the director of this documentary), but this teaser wasn't edited by me, so apparently they seem to forget it or was not part of the concept.
Burmese pythons are more like squatters than residents.
Unfortunately they are all over the park to the point that over 90% of the park’s mammals are gone.
It's to beautiful to move to Texas in this state even though everything else sucks here the environment is beauty.

I'm going over there for a field trip tomorrow

We have gators in the swamps of eastern North Carolina too. Saw several last year. Beautiful creatures no doubt
Probably a good thing that these native species were videoed before the pythons killed and ate them all....
