Throughout his life, Henry H. Arnhold was committed to preserving and promoting the rich heritage of his native Dresden. Building on a selection initially formed in Germany by his family, Arnhold assembled one of the greatest collections of Meissen porcelain in the world, second only to that of the Dresden Porcelain Collection itself. This October, Sotheby’s is honored to offer Meissen porcelain and other ceramics from his esteemed collection in a dedicated auction to benefit The Arnhold Foundation. In this episode of Expert Voices, join Frick Director Ian Wardropper and Artist Edmund De Waal in a celebration of Henry H. If you like that, have a look at Ardmore Ceramics in Africa. I believe Fée Halsted, founder of Ardmore Ceramics has drawn inspiration from Meissen Porcelain. Pretty sure she did, as her pieces have great resemblance to Meissen pieces.
