Game Synopsis: You are a German ace pilot who, on a mission to intercept enemy bombers and discovering one helplessly limping home, has decided to finally do the unthinkable: defy the Führer's orders; saving the allied B-17 and deserting the German Luftwaffe, defecting to the allies. Now alone, and forced to fight your fanatical former comrades, your mission is to escort the battered B-17 out of occupied Europe, no matter the cost. Their survival depends on you. Can you save them? "True courage is knowing not when to take a life, but when to spare one." -JRR Tolkien
Press X To Shoot And Accomplish Mission - Gives You Iron Cross Press X Double Times To Escort The B17 To Safety - Gives Instead Of Iron Cross New Best Friend - Honor Among People On B17
Now one of those old top down fighter games with the first part where you play as the B17 on the bombing approach and then after a glorious slide show cutscene where the plane is damaged, you switch to the German fighter having to escort them out all while this plays. Brothers, heroes, foes though long would be a good title.
This is pretty great! Like I said the other time, I always wonder how good could they sound without vocals and you don't dissapoint. I like it very much!
The bullet bill was cool but it could have been the one with no arms and WWII nose art that first appeared on the Messerschmitt Bf-110s, it was the shark paint.

Achievement Unlocked - "Goodbye Iron Cross"
decades later: Achievement Unlocked - "Do I know this person?"
Imagine being on an anti-air then seeing a heavily damaged b17 with working guns not trading bullets with a fully functional bf109.
some of the guns were jammed as they were frozen, hence why he was able to get that close in the first place
@@Y10HK29 It's why Stigler approached and didn't fire. He was confused about why the B-17 wasn't firing at him.
When the enemy AI bugs in Bomber Crew
That would actually be a very nice Easter Egg to have it happen on the day that the real event happened.
When you here the guitar solo on your favorite song in 8-bit it hits different
Beat that god damn escort mission today. The post-mission cutscene’s music made it all worth it

According to the booklet for Heroes, it's Honor in the skies, not Thunder.

No bullets fly,
It's not "Thunder in the skies," it's "Honor in the skies"
