I have one of these motors and the dang ratchet/pawl doesnt catch all the time when I pull start it. I cleaned some old grease out hoping to fix it and now I'm not sure how it goes back together because it harldy ever catches. Any idea how this goes back together or what could be the problem?
They were made late 80s into the 2000s but they actually were not manufactured by OMC they were made in China and sold to several other companies. Mercury has the same motor and the only difference is the ignition system. OMC branded ones use OMC ignition, and the mercury branded ones use mercury, ignition

What ratio mix oil petrol Ben. ? I am looking to buy one tomorrow evening.
This is a 50/1 mix but I really don’t think that they are a very good motor. The older models are much better made
