Putting milk in before the coffee helps so much because it prevents the shot from “dying” (former barista here) and getting bitter! You should try to plant the basil in your backyard! Those plants always die so fast for me when I leave them in the pot they come in lol
I’m so glad I’m not the only one who organizes her notes haha 😆 As a designer/content creator/and anything digital, you have to stay up to date with everything. Also you are right on Pinterest. I found so many amazing meals on there. 😊

Dear Tara, you could use your basil plant to make fresh pesto which you can add to a lot of different things, like sandwiches and pizza or pasta. It's the best sauce ever, especially when made fresh. In a blander add a glove of garlic, leaves of basil, little bit of olive oil, nuts and little bit of hard cheese, I use granna padana cheese. It's delicious and so easy, and basil plants are very finicky and don't last long so I highly suggest you use it very soon 😂
As a previous barista the reason the coffee probably turns out better with milk in underneath it is because the shots don’t have time to die! A shot has layers and those layers can die if milk /sugar isn’t put in before 7 seconds after its brewed. Just a lil coffee science :)
So… the iced coffee thing. Once an espresso is pulled you have 15-30 seconds before the acidity and bitterness reach their height peakness … so you have to neutralise them or else your coffee will be bitter or too acidic.. that’s why when at a cafe they always put the flavourings in first.. the sugars in the flavour or milk neutralise them. That’s why it tasted better when you pull the shot into milk and ice instead of adding the ice and milk after..

I had three weeks off for surgery/recovery, and then went right into my brand new job. Let me tell you -- going from no schedule whatsoever to having to get up at 5:30 AM post op is friggen HARD. I'm *this close* to just accepting coffee even though I don't normally like it hahaha!
If you want to have endless supply of basil from that one plant you need to clip the leaves you want to eat regularly just above the part where you can see tiny new leaves sprouting. This way the branches get stronger and more and the leaves plenty.

May I recommend turning the pizza cutter and graters around. It would make the handles be the first thing you touch rather than blades. I’m worried you’ll get cut

When you need shredded cabbage for a recipe I usually use a small bag of coleslaw mix, it has shredded cabbage and a little bit of carrots in it.
