"You let that hate diminish you if you focus on it. You know that's the way of the world... That's they way most people are in this freakin' world. They ain't gonna love you, boo. So keep on doing what you do and give them a kind word and say to them, 'Have A Good Day.'" #powerful
There's something about a black / brown woman that's beautiful throughout. They NEVER age! I.e. Angela Bassett, Patti LaBelle, Gladys Knight, Jennifer Lopez, ToninBraxton
I used a couple of clips from this interview in Remix/Edit i made of patti's track Moon Shadow (1972) ua-cam.com/video/SYgv1Gb8yOM/v-deo.html checkin out
Poetic Justice Many many singers cut their vocal lives short due to unhealthy techniques that damage their voices. Knowledge is power and many credible vocal coaches can provide great knowledge. What is with this American hate to gaining information?
+InterestingName I don't think Patti was denying the work of vocal coaches. She simply states that you cannot be taught to sing with soul. She herself has admitted to seeking help from vocal coaches throughout her career, so I highly doubt she's implying they are useless.
+Terence Gipson I agree with you. Soul singing cannot be taught. I've heard many singers sing with great technique but no soul. No matter what genre of music you perform soul is soul, its innate. Either you have it or you don't.
+InterestingName The only thing she said was in reference to Soul. She didn't say anything against the need for technique in singing. You are naive for making that inference from absolutely no evidence.
I love this woman! She really is an incredible person..wow
Patti is the queen - nobody can replace her!
Just adore her!! So real, so nice and full of positive energy!
I love Ms.Patti... she’s gorgeous and keeps it real

Vocal coaches may not give you ''soul'', they can however, have a great impact on your voice. Labelle is naive for completely denying their help
+InterestingName She's telling the truth.
