Interesting to see the larger diameter coil in the hex ? The approx price quoted for a premium manufacturer basic model looks interesting. Tried looking up myself but no stated prices yet. Didn't realise the 2000 was approx £850 inc VAT. I am paying £1400 for Vaillant ecotec plus 825 ! I need to go back to the drawing board and start looking at boilers again and consider switching my allegiance from Vaillant, which actually are no longer that premium compared to the competition anymore ? Thank you for your presentations and this prompt !
I think the ecotec plus was the benchmark, unfortunately customers didn't always want to pay that, especially when you can get a glowworm made in the same factory for a fraction of the price with the same 10 year guarantee. With the design change to the ecotecs I switched to baxis and mains. But after seeing this, I'm with you, might be time to rethink.
Can you do a video on lowering the output on the Worcester 1000 . Something I can send to the lads at work every time they ask . I believe it can be lowered by 50% max
Shame not to show any of the connections, does it come with fill loop etc as installers will be installing them rather than removing the combustion door etc
Has the Giannoni patent run out? Worcester goes stainless for their little boilers, who knew? Where does that leave the cheap and a bit naff 2000 I wonder? And for that matter their investment in the friction weld aluminium heat exchangers that were going to be in all their new models????
I'm not really directly involved in the domestic heating market as I moved into construction management some years ago. Looks good to me ! Re the prices, Vaillant have become a joke with their prices although I have to say that I was always pro WB anyway. Id be interested to know how much these go for, prices etc
Yes it can be range rated if you go into the diagnostics hold down tap and radiator for about three seconds on the right hand side of display, push the arrow down onto L3 then choose 3B -1 it will say 100% you can go down rate it so for example down to 50% would be round about 12 kW
Faith has nothing to do with it, if it came with a 10 year guarantee why would you ever even consider fitting an 8000? Same reason a baxi 800 has a 10 year guarantee and an assure has a 2 year guarantee.
@@russellthomas9391 there a turkish boiler manufacturer based over the road ''literaly' from worcester plant in izmir Turkey 🇹🇷 under the name semet they make worcester's hex
It’s a Baxi with a plastic hydraulic block and did anyone see the PRV? I’d stick with a Main eco compact for the same money and warranty. Oh sorry ‘guarantee’ for you Worcester snobs! 😂
Don't be fooled by this boiler. Just had it installed 2 days ago and I personally would not recommend it to anybody looking for a reliable product. I didn't choose it because of the price but rather the installers recommended it over the other greenstar models that I initially was leaning towards, like Greenstar 4000. Regardless, 10min after the installation the boiler is dripping water on the front-right corner and is thus loosing pressure. It isn't leaking at the pipe level but rather inside the boiler itself, which makes me think that QA wasn't done right.. Not only that but unlike any other boiler I've had before (And I had 3, including new and old products lilke Greenstar 4000, Vokera 25, Powermax 140), this one is buzzing like a bee. It creates vibrations that travel through the walls and can be now heard in the whole flat, which is extremely annoying. I am now seriously looking into replace this piece of crap and install something more reliable.
Looks like Worcesters first attempt to actually make a boiler which isn't over engineered and people may actually want to repair.
5 years isn't enough .
@mgbroadsterJ Is that the warranty length? Comes down to price I guess.
@@MrVictorvolvo Loads of boilers with ten year and more for about a 1000 pounds .

Looks alright but that overheat stat will go brittle quickly there and will drop to bits on service
Nice to see your still doing OK Geoff all the best Nigel

They’ve had some help from Baxi 😂
Nice one thanks for your efforts...looks like a cross between a valiant and viessman tho 🎉
The new Worcester Baxi
Nothing to do with baxi
Class video as always Geoffrey, 550 mark could be a game changer for wb 👍
Looks really good tbf ... 👏

I hope the panel hinges don't fall apart on this one
I like it
Looks ok for the money , only time will tell on reliability , is that a re usable gasket on the burner...!
cheers. 👍
Looks decent, for a Worcester! Proper heat exchanger, not aluminium dissolving unit. Rubber gas pipe will perish. Where's the prv hidden?
Looks OK, hopefully

Cross between a Baxi 600 and an Ecotec
Stick to metal baxi
Can it be range rated ?
Does it have open therm ?
Yes it can be range rated
Download the instructions and then you tell me? Not heard of a boiler being range rated years now 🤔
I think it's only open therm with proprietary controls unfortunately

Is it a vaillant in disguise? Lol
I prefer making money off the old greenstar heat cells ! 😂
"Gasket and electrodes have gone, luckily I've got a set on the van" 😂😂😂
Great video thanks.... Where is the PRV? Lol
It’s quite easy accessible, it’s just behind the fan
@@geoffreyneedstraining5856 Thanks Geoff, love your videos. Keep them coming
I stopped fitting Worcester and this might convert me back. Similar to the 630 I fit either Main or Baxi
Stick to baxi
hi is it on a jig thanks
No on a plate hanger
It's OK I suppose. I still prefer baxi
Why such a poor warranty ? Do they not have faith in this boiler ?

£500? And the rest! More like £650-£700!
Plastic pipes and rubber hoses
