Damn what a wonderful song, I loved the guitars and the drumming, the singing was also very good. I also enjoyed the video. Thanks for introducing a new band for me and everybody else to check out. Have a lovely day.
"Back in 1930’s there was a group of occultists in Finland who believed that there was treasure buried in a certain bog. They believed they could make it arise from the depths with esoteric rituals - containing some bodyparts stolen from the nearby cemetary. The ever present death in the story is depicted through the transformation of nature in the Fall" song description from their website. I found this really interesting.
Because of this reaction video, I bought 2 paara albums.. I´d never heard of em, and holy fuck do they kick ass!! So thank you guys for introducing me to Paara.
Love this album, got a physical copy of it. The lyrics leaflet has explanations for the songs. Suon Sydän (Heart of a Bog): "Back in 1930's there was a group of occultists in Finland who believed that there is treasure buried in a certain bog. They tried to raise it with esoteric rituals. Ever present death in the story is depicted through the transformation of nature in the Fall." The bands lyrics generally are about Finnish folk myths and ghost stories. The name of the band, Paara, is apparently the name of some medieval poltergeist. Not a well known story, they found it in some ancient church records regarding local heresy/paganism/non-christian beliefs.
Great to see you guys react to Paara! I highly recommend checking out the entire album named "Riitti". I haven't been able to get enough of it and it turned out to be my favorite metal album of 2018. I just love the harsh and clean vocals, catchy riffs and the way they are constantly changing pace, so it never gets stale. Plus being a finn myself, it's really fun to sing along.
Also 12:40 made me smile, because I had a similar reaction when I saw the cover for Belzebubs Blackened call. "Well this looks like the cover of Paara's album". It really is similar.
@@APREACTS Cant hardly wait :) Funny thing tho, this is Finnish band and i have never heard of it, fk ya big bro, and you said to me that you know everything about metal bands when i was 5, thats the time when i first started listening metal by the aid of Sepultura... You know nothing Jarkko!!! GOT meme lol
A few years back this would have been way too harsh for me but I've grown to like this kind of melodic black metal, even better when it's a Finnish band that gets to impress me. Canadian band Forteresse and Swedish band Wormwood have been great to listen to and expand my taste. I'd recommend checking out Wormwood's "Godless Serenade", they have a music video for it, resembling the vibe and sound of the recent Bròn song that you've reviewed a while back.
Suo is swamp, sydän is heart, so it could be Heart Of The Swamp. The lyrics are darker than dark, but kind of beautiful poetry in its darkness. Marco Hietalas new album will be released in may, check out the picture of his record, and you get the name of this song in that picture. But great song, so so dark and so beautiful in its way, great singing.
@Pompeli Possu Miten sen ottaa, monet black metal yhtyeet vetää sen päin vastoin, niinkuin suon sydän, Heart of the Swamp, toimii myöskin suomesta englanniksi -> Swamps Heart :) Mut joo Heart of the Swamp on paremmin ymmärrettävissä :)
First liked the clean vocal at the beginning, second it was interesting the way they combined their voices lady and the man, third the guitarrist are amazing I like the melody they do
Sup guys, I see the upcoming concert list, and damn that's crazy to see Demons and Wizards on the list. That first self-titled album from back in '99 w/Schaeffer and Hansi is no doubt one of the best power/epic metal albums imo. Ok guys, hope all is good in the great frosty North -Nathan, CA USA
".. and soon someone's going to die" from the end of chorus, can't get any darker. The female vocals were kinda surprise at first, but actually perfected the dramatic story and gave it another layer, well not brighter, but a different kind of dark. First I thought they used a kantele at the intro, but I may be wrong.
Since you are listening a lot of non-english music, I though that you could add a little post scriptum or whatever in the end of the video, where you read the english lyrics (most of them are found online and if not, google translate helps 24/7 :D) and maybe listen song again (offscreen or heavily edited if/when nothing too shocking happens) and tell that did knowing the lyrics change the feeling of the song or anything like that. Greetings for Funland \o/
You guys did Allegaeon not long ago and called it guitar porn. Well, they just released a new album last week. Guitar porn x 2. Might want to check it out!
Title is in Finnish, that's always a good sign. And how 'bout that acoustic opening? And even female vocal harmony! Overall, this reminds me of Korpiklaani as a melodeath or black metal band, like Korpiklaani meets Arch Enemy, I like it. BTW, did you know you stuck my avatar on the patron by mistake?
@@APREACTS No, I mean on the pop-up for the Patreon patron who suggested the video, you put somebody else's suggestion with my avatar. Just pointing that out.

I am happy that Paara gets the recognition they deserve.
So glad you reacted on this. They're very good friends of mine and one of the most underrated bands out there.

Female vocalist Natalie Koskinen is in Shape Of Despair (and Depressed Mode). Really beautiful, atmospheric funeral doom. You need to check them out
The first part of the song sounds like a Finnish lullaby, it actually made me think of my childhood and the lullabies my mom used to sing to me
The ending riff is just perfect.

Paara is top notch. Can't wait to hear from them in the future
Riitti was my favorite album last year. Such an amazing band!
Same here
Alternative groups to Poland's black metal domination come only from Finland. An extraordinary piece.

Tämä uus "Riitti" on helvetin kova, ei pääse yli eikä ympäri.
Oh, the official facebook page of Paara published a link to this video. Pretty neat.
Indeed, it always blows my mind when bands share our videos.
This was the seventh band introduced to me that i have never heard by A & P reacts, ty guys, love from Finland :)

Have you guys not done the Poet and The Pendulum (Nightwish) yet? I can't believe you haven't but at least I haven't seen it??
Have you guys react Drottnar: Funeral Of Funerals?
