This is a great format. I understand that without new stuff to look at it could be hard to fill 3+ hours, but I love T and B chatting s#!t. The best game play is when it inspires tabbing out and more chat.
I'd love it if they gave the older total war titles a spin for a while, whether it be the lotr mods they mentioned in this stream, or just any of the older games that aren't warhammer fantasy as that's mostly all they've played for a long time
some of the most overlooked material is just chill banther about stuff like this , can be a bit tricky to have new 'audience' know it exists i guess but for the people wanting some banther in the background as they drag their feets home after work to stimulate that social part of the brain without having to spend 2 hours at the pub or in a noisy game lobby etc T & B chatting must be golden.
I agree with Ben that a lot of the Extended scenes aren't all that, although all the extra Boromir stuff being cut from the theatrical cuts was an absolute crime
@@poshboy4749 I think it gave a lot more substance to Boromir's fall at Amon Hen, we see how stalwart a fighter and figurehead for Gondor he was before the temptation got to him. Then his sacrifice to protect Merry and Pippin hits all the harder, for just a few scenes more it really increases the impact of a character who is otherwise forgotten after the first movie

21:00 funnily enough, the place where they fight the wargs, and where gandalf rides with pippin with the mountain in the background are both filmed on an actual deer sanctuary in Queenstown
I wholeheartedly agree with Ben about the Extended Cut of LotR. Peter Jackson crafted beautiful movies with proper pacing and cinematography, then he had to bundle up a lot of extra content that turns some sequences into absolute slogfests. He admitted himself that he didn’t like those versions, but he knew that for some fans more stuff = better so he just put all the fan service in there for the DVD.
Praise be Kremlo, Tom & Ben finally returned, and even though there was no actual Total Warhammer this stream, plans of doing it in the future brings joy. I understand (and with recent news in last few months from CA) that they might have burned out a bit or were not as excited to play it, but I was worried that they would move onto something completely new and drop this format. And even if I'm just a vodgobbo for most of it and can't really donate to the cause - it's just so fun to watch viewers getting involved in armies and creating their own mini-stories sometimes, very memorable. Thank you!

This was stressful lol. The Tomb Kings infantry etc were released in 2002 - the upgrade sprue for the original Undead Skeleton/VC models. But GW raised their prices well above inflation every year. The classic "Undead Skeletons" Sprue is 1998 I believe as Ben says. In 2015 A box of 16 Tomb King warriors was £20.00 (Element Games has a lot of the URLs still in tact!). 2015 was when GW killed Old World. But yes, £25 is randomly exactly what 20 Tomb Kings in 2015 would cost. Until 2021, GW sold the 1999 ZOMBIES for £25 for 20 to be used in Age of Sigmar. So GW's current pricing for 1999-early 2000s models in £25 for 20.
Maggoty bread might not necessarily refer to the same maggots as fruit-fly larvae. Pantry moth larvae can probably be confused for maggots if you're not being too precise, and they can definitely infest bread.

total war pharaoh is a pyramid of bandaids on top of a game engine. the bethesda method of game development got to creative assembly a while ago. They lucked out getting warhammer fantasy ip to make things seem fresh for a bit. feels snarky as hell to say, but it also feels accurate and I'm getting tired of big devs shitting the bed while profiting off the aroma
was watching a vid the other day that was looking at total war games stats on steam. In December two thirds of all the people playing total war games on steam were playing ones that are no longer being supported. That is ones like Attila and Shogan that havent had new DLC for years. Which means for the majority of creative assembly fans the old games with mods and fan made campaigns are a preferable gaming experience to their shiny new releases. They really have fucked themselves
Im pretty sure that in the end times there weren't 20 skeletons in a pack (im too lazy to dig it out from under my bed) but the Tomb Guards for sure only have 8 or 10 lads not 20
I wish Angron was far more bestial/feral, like a giant demon dog on all fours. There shouldn’t be any humanity or intelligence left in him, just pure fury.
Regarding Theodred's funeral scene: "It's a lovely and heartbreaking scene of grief. Which is important, as expressions of grief are strangely missing in a war epic like Lord of the Rings. As much as it is a funeral for Theodred, it is really an acting spotlight for his cousin, Eowyn. Miranda Otto is superb as she delivers a funeral dirge for her departed prince. The music of Lord of the Rings doesn’t get enough credit, and Otto’s rendition of Eowyn’s lament is heartbreakingly beautiful. Thankfully, it can be found in the extended editions, but for such a small and well-acted scene that so adds much to the atmosphere of the movie, it should've never been left on the cutting room floor." Agree. Feelings aren't boring to me. Shame Ben can't feel it. Ben, I can recommend if you want nothing but battle scenes just watch vods of Total War: Warhammer? No feelings, just noisy fights.
Ooooh, could you have said in a more pompous snobbish way. It's a scene that brings the pacing to a halt, adds nothing to the plot and is about two people we know nothing about, one of which we will never know anything about. No way you care about the feelings of those total strangers. There are plenty of emotive grief scenes in those movies, they just tend to be about people the audience cares about.
