Roland TR8S midi connection to electronic drum kit

Using the Roland TR8S as a sound source for an electronic drum set. Very easy connection by midi cable.
Only requires a few tweaks on each patch of the TR8S to get something very playable.

4 years later and this video is still relevant !😁 Also the TR8S unlike the TR8 is also a sampler. I have several multi-pads, but good to know I can use the TR8S as a sampler with drum pads ! Thanks for the upload. PS: TR8S also has a main trigger out-put and individual trigger outputs (Some cool YT videos on its use). Remarkable machine.

I hooked up my edrumin ( trigger module) to the tr8s, can’t get any sounds yet, any ideas what I should set up to make it work?

The audio comes out of the tr8s yes? otherwise check your using the right midi cable, and that you have midi out of the kit to midi in on the tr8s. Then check your pads settings so that they are on the right midi channel that corresponds with the midi channels of each instrument on the tr8s.
