I did it with the latest Hannibal at the center of the Rising Phoenix EX formation, inheriting Stardust+ to remove buffs, but he will use this only for the last form and only from the 3rd turn (it's pointless before) and every turn after. In the front : Kihachi and James. In the back : Shirei with song of sturdiness inherited (that you will need to use strategically) and Anya with Starlight Grace, which she casts on the 1st turn of the last form. Finished in 20 turns, but that was almost 19. One key point you missed is that if you kill a form in one turn, it won't get a heat up. The heat up happens only if you let a form reaches its second turn. So, if you manage correctly your overdrives, thank to Shirei, you should reach the final form with maximum 3 heat up (2 if you are lucky to get a combo on a non overdrive turn). This can make a BIG difference on turns where the final form starts with Buff Break. For overdrives, if you just use Kihachi + James, it's guaranteed they will wipe one bar. You must also remember that Hannibal activates Dragon Spear Cross every multiple of 3 turns, very useful for an overdrive combo.
@ScherBR . Hi, have you made some good tries on Romancing difficulty? I Saw that someone cleaned this fight upon this week's banners, it's Amazing. I made some tries with the latest Aselus, as she apply debuffs and Can remove buffs with Nova maybe she can really help on this fight ..
@@ScherBR on both tô be frankly specially if you take in consideration that somethimes the egg proved tô be more frustrating hard than the destroyer when dealing tons of damage
you need to grind a lot of attributes especially will to beat this boss... also few things theres a bug in which paralyze cannot be recovered, and the boss doesn't attack on turn 2 or 3, and forgot to mention that mass spam of charm skill every after overdrive... and yes you can beat this boss with kihachi and khalid, the problem is the space so you will just have to gamble and hopefuilly the boss did not use any status skill (mass charm) other than that everything is just RNG based...
Shoot, reuploading the video erased my comment. Well, since you're wondering if Kihachi can be your damage dealer for this I can say yes she can! I beat Challenge using the Imperial Cross EX formation with Ellen in the middle with Saturn Blade (she's been so clutch for me on most of the recent hard fights), with Leon in the front to tank, Kihachi at the top to do damage, Esper Gal at the bottom with Witch's Trick of course and Shirei in the back with his debuff cleanse song inherited (I used it a couple times on the last health bar, but I wish I had Muse so he didn't have to stop stacking S3!). It's worth noting my Kihachi never reached her "Brace" status, so she wasn't even on full damage potential! In fact, Ellen was even outdamaging her with triple Chain Attack procs into double Chain Attack procs. Also, another style who can help with avoiding Soulsteal is Matriarch with Paean of Protection inherited (or just get lucky with someone with Intrinsic in the aggro slot lol). That said, the boss never went into CAUTION state for me so I'm not sure what triggers it. Good job on your clear!
What exactly is buff breaking? Who could i replace Esper Gal with from recent banners? I have a bit of a grasp on things with combat (im new, started when katarina banner came out) but im not sure what buff breaking actually is or when youre meant to use one.
Buff breaking is the term used for the removal of stat buffs, whether it be single target or aoe. It takes the name from an attack that many bosses (including this one) use which is called "Buff Break", which does no damage but removes all stat buffs from your party. Note that only stat buffs are removed, such as STR or DEX buffs; it doesn't remove attack boosts, defense boosts, morale up/down or guard up/down. Because this boss raises its physical stats whenever it hits with a skill and its mental stats whenever it hits with a spell, it's advisable to bring a buff breaking character (here Scher used Esper Gal with a spell called Witch's Trick, which removes all stat buffs while also debuffing stats and doing damage) or the enemy will buff its AGI so high your attacks might miss and its INT so high it may inflict you with status ailments that doom your attempt. As for characters on current banners that can do this, if you pulled Cat from Victor's banner, she can inherit Windwhistle from her S (Christmas) style, which is available in all banners so you should easily get it from the thousands of platinum tickets that drop from the current raid boss/conquest. You will need to amplify Windwhistle to Windwhistle+ for it to gain the ability to buff break, and you can buy those amplification badges from the romancing shop. Alternatively, as one of the comments above you mentioned, if you got Hannibal from Final Empress' banner, you can buy his summer SS style from the Romancing shop with the silver romancing coins all stages drop and inherit Stardust, which, like Windwhistle, buff breaks a single enemy once you amplify it to Stardust+.
@@THE_BASED_GOD Don't worry about this fight at all, it's the first one released that's too much for even the biggest of whales. Never spend jewels just to clear one fight, you'll be able to beat it within the next few months, probably.
The two last challenges are weak to nothing, thanks Akatsuki devs : time to drop Katarina, Tatyana, Kihachi, etc... indeed old styles already whom for sure were worth their own pity. Now time for the 2 weeks lifespan meta.
