Great video 10/10. Investigating how these things work as I've just bought a bus with a lift. Thanks for the effort, much appreciated

Someone told me also to be sure and check your battery too. Because if it gets to low. It can start your wheelchair lift to start doing all kinds of crazy things as well. If you have a battery that is more then 4 or 5 yrs old you might want to replace it. If the voltage drops into the 10's. . Ricon lifts love 12 volts or higher to properly function. Also, if you test your battery voltage while your van is running and if it reads 14 volts then that lets you know that your alternator is working properly as well etc. One more thing if you don't drive your vehicle (or start it and let it run for a while) within 3 days then the lift can drain your battery completely too. Hope this may help someone out. Just sharing etc.

I think that the metallic solenoid is an "optional" decellaration spool valve and shouldn't be touched if fitted..

Hello there... i am having trouble with my lift.. my doors open fine. But sometimes my lift just doesn't want to deploy sometimes. I know there is a solenoid on the floor right behind the front passenger side. I have that one on order. How do you replace the one that is on the post (the non adjustable one)? Do you lower the lift to the ground and just take it off an replace it with another one?

The servos that you talked about in this video. can they be replaced without losing any hydraulic fluid come shooting out or wasting out onto the floor etc?

Yes. Lift has to be fully opened and grate on the ground.

Hey there Pamela. We don’t get to install these wheelchair lifts. They are install’d at the dealers. We just keep them functioning.

I just installed a lift like this to my truck. I can’t get the remote to work. I can put 12v to the solenoid and get it to go up and down but I can not get it to stow. It goes up and stops. Motor still spins but won’t finish going up. I have to pump the jack to get it up a little then it will take off. What could that be? any tips will help thanks. No remote function and no stow

What RICON model is it. If it’s an older model (pre-2009). It has micro switches that might need adjustment.

S5005 model. I worked on it agin today pretty sure I Burt up the solenoid lol. It will go up and down but I have to jack it 1 or 2 pumps and it will take back off agin. Also are those remote controls easy to fix. It won’t work
