Getting to know the other side and putting yourself in someone else's shoes and seeing the world through their experiences and perspectives.
"The Coming War on China" by award winning producer/director Australian John Pilger, spells it out in black and white, US's long game on strangling China.
In America, the education system excludes mention of other countries. Any news about them is bad news. Hence 99% of Americans grow up with a warped view of the world. This mindset makes Americans unable to except other countries from excelling, considering them to be threats instead. Hence the govt. and it's military will always consider as enemies any country NOT approved by the US. This mindset is unlikely to disappear soon and will be the elephant in the room which is unable to find a way out. By the time it gets out, the room is thrashed. This is the scenario for most of the scenario for the 21st century.
USA has most harmed its own people, the general public, its politicians, and even its leaders. Is it democratic to impose on others? Can you talk of "Peace" with hundreds of military bases ? Should you protest about the permanence of foreign leaders when your problem is caused by your leader? Is the right the goal of democracy? and is it should it overshadow the wellfare of the people?
Why do these western talking heads interviewers ask the same questions over and over ? Seriously doesn’t the interviewer research and formulate more thought provoking questions ? Edit : last few question was good ! It’s over for USA . Biden is doing exactly the same as orangutang man.
To keep their job that's why! They need to try maintain the western narrative. Its obvious Uyghurs and Xinjiang will always be in their line of questions. But smart diplomat like KM will not entertain them.
@@charlescheechien8529 every single interview with Kishore are posed with 90% of the same questions. Maybe the interviewer is representing the sheeple who lack critical thinking and who have those basic simpleton questions in mind ?
the most relevant part of this interview is: ‘the best way to promote human rights is by the power of example.’ here you go USA; let this sink in....look after your citizens first before you meddle with others’ problems....
I've noticed that KM never addresses the assumed human rights abuses in Xinjiang directly in any of the discussions on several of these discussion forums. The host always assumes as factual that there are abuses - from sterilisation & rape of women to concentration camps whereas it's common knowledge that these accusations are far from the truth [see UN & various international organisation reports, Grayzone, Consortium News, various expats in PRC, etc]. This is a glaring misconception, given more creditworthiness because the host, SK in this instance, goes along with the highly dubious narrative promoted by Adrian Zenz, BBC, ASPI et al. KM could do a lot more to expose these unfounded propaganda.
He did that on purpose and for a good reason. Kishore himself does not believe in genocide happening in Xinjiang but he cannot say this directly as there is no concrete evidence whether it happens or not. There are evidence that the accusation is based on lies and everyone that knows geopolitics knows this. But still he cannot say this as this will make the host and his pro american viewer become too defensive. He deflect the question by asking the credibility of the accuser and the response or the lack of response from other Muslim countries. I think this is a very good response as the answer is very clear for smart audience to imply what he meant and leaves some room for face saving.
@@turtlesoup8134 What you stated also occurred to me, + if he were to question the veracity of the assumption [that the PRC commits HR abuses] then he'll not be invited back on further shows. However, by not challenging the MSM narrative, he perpetuates these dangerous falsehoods with severe consequences which we are all aware of. The diplomatic avenue open to him is just to say that there are credible reports that rebut these allegations eg: from Grayzone, Pepe Escobar/Asia Times & Harrison Publications & point the host & viewers (many of whom are unaware of the alternative view, automatically discounting state organs like the Global Times, CGTN, etc). He doesn't have to say that he supports them, so no loss of face, etc.
@@spidermann1256 Yes, but a diplomat at his caliber cannot cite small independent media like the grayzone or even just using accounts from famous journalist like Pepe Escobar. Not that those report are invalid, but if you are a national diplomat and you want to go against MSM then you will need much more mainstream evidence such as the Havard study or other country's action which is relevant for the world stage. Small indie media like The Grayzone is not going to change the world yet. If the US felt like they do then all its staff will be treated like Julian Assange or Snowden. They still exist because they are not yet a threat to the empire, but on the flip side it is hard to cite them as a credible source among diplomats and major establishment.
@@turtlesoup8134 Your view reminds me of the boy's remarks that the king has no clothes - the boy being these small indie journalists & the MSM being the only accepted source of credible info. KM does the debate a great disservice by not standing up to be counted - after all, the other side cites people like Adrian Zenz & ASPI in their propaganda & these people have been exposed as being not even scholarly, let alone credible but yet accepted as such by so-called learned people like SK. Sauce for goose & gander.
@@spidermann1256 Yes and this is why it is amazing how strong the western media is. They can literally convince people that a stone is a gold. The power of their voice is so strong, their reputation so widespread, their indoctrination so deep that it is difficult to take other independent journalist seriously if they are not put up to the pedestal. They will argue with you that they allow free speech but only if the speech again the establishment is inconsequential. If they become more popular then they will use soft censor as in the case in platform like you tube and twitter, then if the independent journalist become more influential they will use hard power as in Julian Assange case. Welcome to the world of western "free speech"
Westerns cannot understand that concept. They think their democratic is system is the best because they are ignorant of other working political systems.

China had learned and acknowledged weaknesses from past and change to move foreward while US is still sank (and stuck) in the past "glory" and trying hard to maintain it
US-China cooperation can only achieved when US put down its ego and deals with a level mentality. It has always been above and looking to subdue rather than cooperate. Only insurmountable obstacles can force it down.
I agree with the statement from Professor Kishore Mahabubani that the new Biden administration should strengthen the US economy to further improve the income of the vast majority of the people. For the cohesive force of support for the Democrats Party, it can continue to win in the next term. Strong force of attack at the Capitol Building could speak for itself.
Here is what President Carter told the congregation on Sunday, April 14, 2019: “Since 1979, do you know how many times China has been at war with anybody?” Carter asked. “None. And we have stayed at war.” The U.S., he noted, has only enjoyed 16 years of peace in its 242-year history, making the country “the most warlike nation in the history of the world,” Carter said. This is, he said, because of America’s tendency to force other nations to “adopt our American principles.” In China, meanwhile, the economic benefits of peace were clear to the eye. “How many miles of high-speed railroad do we have in this country?” he asked. While China has some 18,000 miles of high-speed rail, the U.S. has “wasted, I think, $3 trillion” on military spending. “It’s more than you can imagine. China has not wasted a single penny on war, and that’s why they’re ahead of us. In almost every way.” “And I think the difference is if you take $3 trillion and put it in American infrastructure you’d probably have $2 trillion leftover. We’d have high-speed railroad. We’d have bridges that aren’t collapsing, we’d have roads that are maintained properly. Our education system would be as good as that of say South Korea or Hong Kong,” Carter told the congregation on Sunday, April 14, 2019.
What is happening at Afghan today (at this very moment) once again supports Prof.Kishore"s comments on American politics. No one who turns on the T V now would
Sarwar Kashmeri's suggestion that Joe Biden and Xi Jinping should have a one-on-one meeting in *BALI* to hash out the differences between America and China is a GREAT one. I'm sure the people of Indonesia (Bali is one of 34 provinces of that country) would totally agree as Bali is considered a paradise island. "In paradise miracles happen."
Yes the tragic history has been more than one century ago, it may be almost half the length of US history, but only less than 3% the length of China history. Thus it's actually not a long time ago for us. On the other hand, no matter how long has that history been away from now, we would forever remember why that happened, who made that happen, and how we could prevent that from happening again by making ourselves stronger. Finally, look what US is doing right now, I bet if China is as weak as it was in 18 century, the US would not even hestitate to bomb us to the ground
Brilliant response by Prof Kishore...humiliation that happens long ago should not be carry till now, but u do not insult others and expect others not to response . Is this not a form of state bullying?!
The mindset of the US politicians and a big segment of its people only think the China should embrace its democratic system. It is only a pretence. The reality is that the social capitalist system with Chinese characteristic works for China. And they do not like it. That is basically the reason why they are finding fault on every move and step taken by China. The american has no dignity, shameless, and can resort to mindless bigotries to subvert any countries which in their eyes are doing well technologically and economically. President Xi is made President for life by the politburo and the PNC for a good reason.
So tired of these Uyghur genocide allegations. Do people EVER get tired of being lied to by their media? Chinese and Uyghurs get along very well and enjoy rising standards of living, population, n every other meaningful metric on wellbeing. This is despite America funding terrorists in Xinjiang. Do we remember how the West deals with extremism? Yeah ok

If China does the same as the American did towards India, once it becomes number 2 in the world ( By the timetable, China will be the no. 1 economy in the world), I wonder what will Indian people feel ? Do you want that to happen?
Sarwar Kashimeri, for heaven's sake, those who forget history are likely to repeat the same. You have a long way to go to be a good interlocutor. Read books on strategies of interview skills.
Chinese OBOR and AIIB seem taking some cheese, which has been recognized by the west as their own belongings arrogantly. It would be the western biggest anxiety.
Sarwar is such a novice.... Try to use the word Chinese strategy like a dirty word. Even I can tell you what China is trying to do. It is only really concerned about building its economy to improve its own country. So why is it building the belt and road, its to safeguard its exports routes in a way that the US cannot block via the south china sea. Does the west care about xijiang ? The leader of China has said in public that China doesn’t wanna be the leader of the world they just want to help the developing country’s economy
China keeps saying she doesn't want to a world leader but they are silently demonstrating how a world leader should behave.
@@x-creator4460 Well I guess they don't ever want to be bullied again.
Let's pray that Mr Mahbubani will live to be 120 yrs old in order to bring sense to the Western world and peace on earth🙏
Kishore: US respects human rights
Millions that died in the Middle East, Africa and Asia: cringe
Mr Kishore Mahbubani have very good idea. 👍
1842-1945 of China's history is the key thing to understand why Chinese people and Chinese government want to be come strong and wealth.
Why everyone in the World need to be like us?
Excellent insight and analysis of the US China situation. God bless you , Professor K.
Thank you so very much. We are trying.. 3 weeks away from the new season.
the most relevant part of this interview is: ‘the best way to promote human rights is by the power of example.’
here you go USA; let this sink in....look after your citizens first before you meddle with others’ problems....
ABSOLUTELY CORRECT
Truth from facts.
This is 1000 times better than Yale's 100+ pg report for Biden on China policy in November 2020.
Why thank you! Compliments to my guest though...
If Xi's a good leader, what's wrong with having a good leader for life? Lee Kuan Yu?
Westerns cannot understand that concept. They think their democratic is system is the best because they are ignorant of other working political systems.
@@nellydefaut5130 Yeah, they rather starve and see their country go kill innocent people from other countries as okay as long as they get to vote. Sadly they don't know their votes don't really count.
👍👍....remarkable proff
China had learned and acknowledged weaknesses from past and change to move foreward
while US is still sank (and stuck) in the past "glory" and trying hard to maintain it
Thanks for sharing.
What an education about CHINA for the guy.
US-China cooperation can only achieved when US put down its ego and deals with a level mentality.
It has always been above and looking to subdue rather than cooperate. Only insurmountable obstacles can force it down.
Finally the ego will be beaten by the world’s real change.
Here is what President Carter told the congregation on Sunday, April 14, 2019:
“Since 1979, do you know how many times China has been at war with anybody?” Carter asked.
"In paradise miracles happen."
sea of despair.... that sounds very desperate and saddening for the US
I can see how much damages the Western media has done to their people from all the questions this interviewer posted.
Kishore should be the presjdent of US, the world will be PEACE!
The Prof is very diplomatic. The person asking the Q not got a clue.
In the name of humanity ...India Please Free Kashmir ,Free Khalisa Free Baluchistan..
Any Americans ask the China Chinese if they want president Xi to be their leader???
Yeah ok
Uyghurs in Xinjiang is just one of the ethnic group of China, so are the Mongols, Manchus etc.
Most westerners doesn't know the Hans are an amalgamation of over 100s of ethnicity over centuries & was thus recognize/called during the Han dynasty after it unified the broken factions from the Qin empire.
No one can deny this man
So delighted, Quad is now a formal strategic alliance to counter CCP, IMF this week projects India to have the fastest growing economics this year. Other factors are changing perception that 1) india is a good security partner to counterbalance any coercive powers 2) India's vaccine diplomacy is working better than was ever expected 3) Quad investing in vaccine diplomacy for whole of south east Asia & Polynesia 4) China seems to be walking back from Thucydides trap they tried to force India to walk away from. 5) India has basically cornered middle east oil almost all for itself either Saudi or Iran or Rest of the world Opec will set the price for india separately. 6) there are other positive reasons Demographics Demographics Demographics. 7) How India has better covid stats than most of the western countries has the scientist l flummoxed how India is managing the covid pandemic so well i think the reasons might be similar to how Vietnam has managed pandemic control so well... Their public health system was designed to deal with pandemics & the climate probably has lots to do with it too ? 8) Dare i say Even Pakistan has started to change their foreign policy towards India.
If China does the same as the American did towards India, once it becomes number 2 in the world ( By the timetable, China will be the no. 1 economy in the world), I wonder what will Indian people feel ? Do you want that to happen?
Well said!
Wow! Kishore is the Man Of The World.
Sarwar Kashimeri, for heaven's sake, those who forget history are likely to repeat the same. You have a long way to go to be a good interlocutor. Read books on strategies of interview skills.
At least learn showing your guest basic respect by listening!
NO, does the west care about the xijiang people ? NO.... The xijiang thing is all about breaking the Chinese route to Europe.
